@@AmberBrooklyn24 its just a salt thats even more savory. is it really that rare where you live? i cannot imagine it being hard to find anywhere. surely youve eaten instant noodles, they have msg. where are you from??
@@RegstarRogstar I'm from NYC, so no, it's not rare. I've heard about it for a long time, it's just not something that I cook with and wasn't sure exactly what it's supposed to do for food. And no, I've actually never had instant noodles before lol I know know, I must be the only person that hasn't had them before lol
@@AmberBrooklyn24 people say it’s salt but it’s not entirely true, because you can still have a bland food even if you added MSG but not regular salt. MSG basically enhances the flavor of whatever it is you’re cooking, it’s like a sound amplifier. Take fries for example, you’ll obviously season it with regular salt, but if you also add MSG to it, the saltiness will linger in your tongue. Some people say that MSG is a salt substitute but that is not true, they do different things. And MSG is not just something you add, it is also naturally occurring in cheese, tomato, soy sauce, etc. That’s probably a reason why lots of people love Italian food.

very! if you go into any of the seafood boil places in australia they use way more. theres a lot of seafood in that batch all that butter is getting diluted and distributed
It depends on the person and the recipe. There isn't really a normal since people can change the recipe however they want. I think it depends on how much seafood you are using. Might not need that much for less for example.
You could always adjust it! But most seafood boil is done with a MINIMUM of 2 sticks of butter, from what I'm getting at how they do it the the south. At the end of the day, you're the one that's going to be eating it, tweak the recipe to your liking!
Ingredients:
4 lobster tails
500g prawns
800g mussels
200g smoked sausage
6 corn cobbettes
6 baby red potatoes
Seafood broth:
4L water
4 bay leaves
1/2 cup (or 75g) old bay seasoning
2 tbsp cajun seasoning
1 onion, sliced
1 lemon, sliced in wedges
6 garlic cloves, pressed
Butter sauce + seasonings:
500g (2 blocks) unsalted butter
1/2 onion, sliced
8 garlic cloves, finely minced
2 tbsp cajun seasoning
2 tbsp old bay seasoning
2 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp lemon pepper
2 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1/2 tbsp oregano leaves
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 lemon, juiced
1 1/2 cup seafood broth (from previous step - add more or less depending on how thick you want the sauce to be)
Thank you sooo much I'm gana make this
I so wish I could make this. Our seafood produce here in uk’s pretty bad and don’t got old bay not cajun ingredients 😢
