P.S. I’m turning 60 - Been selling on eBay for over a decade, but I’m sick of the platform. I absolutely LOVE Poshmark! Making wayyyyyy more $ there, then I ever have on fleabay. It’s like a flea market there now. I’m not selling bc I’m bored, so not willing to give things away, you know? Plus on Posh, everything is one flat fee for shipping & its alllllll Priority. That’s up to #5 lbs, but I e gone over & have never had a problem. The postal clerk said they’re supposed to “just push it through”.

that is my biggest pet peeve at goodwill.....the stickers on the makers mark!!!!!! ugh...they have had many people complain about it...but ..nothings done.There are many places other on the makers mark.
I agree. Most are picked off before I am there anyway so I don't feel bad doing it too 😁 I always say "well if they didn't cover it up in the first place" out loud like that makes it all better lol
What's worse is when thrift stores use a marker and write directly on the items... sometimes even cloth items, and usually a permanent marker.

Its not a dreamcatcher, its a Mandala.. dreamcatchers are spiderweb like and have a hole in the center for the good dreams to pass threw.. with the web catching the bad dreams.. Mandalas are Sanskrit for circle, or Sacred Geometry..A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in East Indian religions, representing the universe. In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically
The circle pattern is a mandala but in that one they've added the hanging bits like a dream catcher. I'd be more inclined to call it a dream catcher.
@@geraldinetrevarthen8655f you look up Macramé Mandalas you will find hundreds of them like this piece, I had friends in the 70's and 80s who made them by the dozens.. and as a Native American, born and raised on a Reservation.. I can honestly say it does not represent a dreamcatcher.. There was also a Macramé style called a Gods Eye that was popular during the macramé phase of the 70s and 80s that's different than a Mandala or Dreamcatcher..

Your videos have absolutely changed what I look for while thrifting. Never before have I looked at glass/etc with such discerning eyes. Everywhere I go, I have to look at things with Jocelyn eyes.

Oh dear, I was at GW today and realized several times I was talking to myself, then the lady beside me commented and agreed with what I said, and I gave a sigh of relief, I wasn't taken for a complete loony. And here I thought it was a sign of my age! ...ha ha ha... I had no camera along so therefore no excuse. I just can't help commenting on things I see that are either nutty looking or too high priced for what they are. This was a fun trip, I sure envy you your color coded aisles, but then our store is so much smaller. Always great fun to see You and Sue cruising for goodies. See you at your next stop. I saw a set recently of that small "peach lusterware" cup, 8 of them together, they were vintage baking custard dishes and they were called copper tint on the box instead of lusterware. Was interesting. Anchor Hocking Fire-King Copper Tint to be exact.
The dream catcher is made with wool roving it looks like.
I was saying the same thing. That's not peach luster!! Lol. Copper tint! But I'd imagine they arn't worth much in singles.

Remember when they were going for $70+?? Yes I read it in a bolo group....and that's why most people won't tell their bolos to a large crowd. Lol. I guess I was lucky that I finally sold mine for $10. 🤗

The wooden roller is for your neck - it helps align the vertebrae. You put it on the floor, position your neck in the middle and push back and forth slowly. Really works.

I thought it was an Easter Island dude, too, but then I think maybe I have had a foo-foo drink at Trader Vic's in a glass like that. Perhaps it is Easter Island and restaurant ware.
When I was in middle school art I carved a head out of basswood that looked very much like that. Easter Island was my inspiration.

The wood owl thing is a napkin holder with space for salt and pepper shakers.. They were very popular in the 70's-80's.. Owls were a huge thing then.

5:10 - These tiles are nice, they have holes in the back for screws/wall-hanging, however I'm not a tile expert so they could still be actual tiles, rather than general wall art. If I had found them in the UK, I could easily imagine them as having been part of a grand Victorian fireplace....definitely that nice 'industrialised art' thing for me. :)
Hello. Love the videos. Longtime reseller myself. Wanted to point out the brown handled bowls with blue interior at 3:46. They are Taylor Smith Taylor Chateau Buffet. I use these in my own kitchen and they sell on ebay at around $20 plus for a pair.
Watch your videos all the time and thank goodness I did this morning!! Went to Goodwill and found a BIG HUG MUG. Didn't know they existed, nor worth anything. Put it in my cart saying, "Yes, Please." Thanks for the info and my new catch phrase!!!
those tile are for the wall the holes in the back are for hanging. usually for the kitchen. uses in the 80 and 90s tuscan design in the kitchens.

When I was 20 and preparing to get married the first time I was working at an Ace Hardware. We had a small housewares department. I purchased a set of Mikasa Bronze Green stone ware for my 'good dishes'. Service for eight. Corning Ware had just introduced the Corelle line and I was given a set of those for every day. 25 years later when my daughter got her first college apartment I gave her the Mikasa. After she married at 25 they started using the Mikasa for every day and I would keep an eye on Ebay for extra pieces for them as replacements. One day I went in a local thrift store and they had a whole area full of complete sets of dishes. I walked over and there was a complete set of Mikasa stoneware in a companion pattern to the Bronze Green. It has a sort of flower pattern on it. The set had everything including the little fruit bowls and 2 platters and vegetable bowl (service for eight). The surrounding dishes all had the prices prominently displayed but not the the Mikasa.. I asked the clerk if she knew how much they were and she walked over and picked up the top dishes on each side and they were $10 for the sets so she said $10.. I said S..O..L..D!!!!!!!! The platter alone was running $35 on Ebay. I said "Merry Christmas" to my daughter. I love a bargain!
