Man, i am also a wheelchair user, and i come across businesses that need more training or education. I found speaking nicely, google reviews, and formal letters work 99% of the time. This guy is hurting us by leaping to lawsuits over minor things. It only makes it harder for serious suits over aggregious refusals to comply to ADA to be believed. One thing I achieved by simply talking to people: a handicap accessible bathroom and parking spaces installed in a popular meeting hall in my town. I did not have to sue or even threaten to sue

There is no such things as a n ADA tester. If there were it would be a paid job offered by the government. Meaning the money they win in a lawsuit would go to the government not the person cause they would already be being paid. That law firm hired this guy so they could get cash coming in to stay in business. The handicapped guy thinks he is doing a good thing, sees a small percentage of the money made (the majority going to the firm). The guy also sees it as making money to be self sufficient. He is not hurting anyone and doing a greater good. Once that firm is shut down, he will see other lawyers to carry on the good work only to find out he had been used. My other thought: I would call it a frivolous lawsuit if what he was suing for is above and beyond what the shop offers. Example: no public toilets. Also, the law was designed to punish people who did not fix violations after they had been warned and refused to fix after so many days. These owners where never warned. Then there is the non compliant shop owner who says they can’t fix the problem cause they don’t own the building. They told the landlord and it is now up to the landlord to fix. Courts have thrown out law suits against business owners who rent so, the charges can be filed against the building owner instead of the shop/ the renter.

Then some sack of crap lawyer hires a tool and screws the little grocer, sandwich maker, etc. out of business. This needs to stop. It's a perversion of justice.

There is no such things as a n ADA tester.
If there were it would be a paid job offered by the government. Meaning the money they win in a lawsuit would go to the government not the person cause they would already be being paid.
That law firm hired this guy so they could get cash coming in to stay in business. The handicapped guy thinks he is doing a good thing, sees a small percentage of the money made (the majority going to the firm). The guy also sees it as making money to be self sufficient. He is not hurting anyone and doing a greater good.
Once that firm is shut down, he will see other lawyers to carry on the good work only to find out he had been used.
My other thought:
I would call it a frivolous lawsuit if what he was suing for is above and beyond what the shop offers.
Example: no public toilets.
Also, the law was designed to punish people who did not fix violations after they had been warned and refused to fix after so many days.
These owners where never warned.
Then there is the non compliant shop owner who says they can’t fix the problem cause they don’t own the building. They told the landlord and it is now up to the landlord to fix. Courts have thrown out law suits against business owners who rent so, the charges can be filed against the building owner instead of the shop/ the renter.
Total con job..." we need to sue to force compliance " Yeah sure you do... who gets the money in the end ? You and wheelchair guy does . If you really want to help take some of that money and donate it to ADA, oh but you won't...Why do you need to sue for money, what about a warning to fix the issue or a city citation? Pure con job and everyone knows it. "Allegedly" I need to insert a legal term.
