I've tried 3 different water based pomades, and so far, they can't hold down my hair, and they feel extremely uncomfortable. Once I switched over to oil based, it worked like a charm. This product is great for thick and stubborn hair! Unlike water based, I'm able to reshape my hair and not have hard hair.
I wanted to like this, ordered on amazon a few years ago. It worked only if applied a lot. Hard to wash on shower. I didn't care that, but the small to vanilla or coconut was so strong that I could not bear. Maybe it was a bad batch.
I got all if Lockhart's line. I have to say, switching from Voodoo Brew, Dax, and Murray's, this product literally cuts the time I do my hair in half. I disagree that this is heavier than Murray's. Murray's stays in like forever. I like to mix the heavyweight with the lightweight. Hold, shine, and comfortable to wear. The scent for the whole line are very strong.
This product is harder and thicker than goon grease without the negative affects of being overkill. It is overkill though, but that's not a bad thing. Goon Grease and the plain Lockharts black label pomade are both perfect. I prefer the black one because I disliked the goon grease scents, that being said I can live off of any of these. Its weird because the black one is noticeably stronger BUT since goon grease is already perfect and strong it's really not noticeable. But it is? I would honestly say to try both for one week and see what you like best. If you have to pick one sweet ass pomade, pick this black one in the video though. I'm a barber in New York City and I've worked on many heads, none of the lockhart products have ever failed me. Its cheap, healthy for your hair, simple, and masculine.
heavy hold over goon grease for thick curly hair? is the only real difference between the two the shine or is goon grease slightly less heavy? I have thick curly hair and can never get oil based pomades right
Hey, I've been watching your videos for quite a time now. Keep up the work! This is really great stuff. Just a quick question though. For thick curly/ wavy hair which do you think would do a better job at taming the curl Shmiere or Lockhart's heavy? Once again thanks and keep up the work.
Great video. Well done. I am looking for a pomade with a strong hold and I do not understand what is the difference between this Lockhart's of the video (black tin) and the Goon Grease always by Lockhart's. Congratulations on the demonstration.
I bought this pomade recently. New to the pomade scene but so far the only product that has held my hair satisfactorily is Imperial Barber (which granted does dry as its water based) If this truly is the heaviest hold oil based I'm screwed, as I require AT LEAST 5 days of build up to give my hair any kind of hold. It's a shame because water bases really dry out my scalp, but it seems they are the only thing for me. Any recommendations?
just got this stuff off amazon.... its... AMAZING!!! Seriously if you have thick, long, wavy, curly, hair this stuff will go in with ease and hold your "do" in place all day long. when its time to degrease your hair all you need is to wash your hair 3 to 4 times MAX and it will all be out.
Which applies easier? This or grandads heavy weight? I have really curly hair so I need something strong enough to slick it all back, but I don't want it to yank out all my hair either
I'm having problems with it. Basically I shampoo my hair, I give it a good tower dry and then I apply pomade. I apply a generous amount because I dont want flyaways but my hair gets REALY stiff, even though I try to comb it back I still get spikes of hair that just wont stay down. What Am I doing wrong? My hair is not the problem cuz I can rock a pomp with other products.
HELP!!!! I have thick hair and i can not find a product that keeps my hair in place the whole day with high shine or at least good shine. I want to get that slick back look. Which product is the best???Thanks.
water based pomade comes out after one wash. oil based comes out (for me) after around 4-5 washes, which is the con to most people. But other people like the fact that it doesnt come out right away. That means pomade to put in the next day after you wash your hair. Also, most water based pomades harden like a gel, but oil based leaves your hair workable all day :)
Goon Grease has more shine, like a traditional/vintage pomade from the '50s. Hard to say which is better, as you have to take into account personal preference and hair type.
Hey man I just wanted to ask you if you would recommend this pomade for stubborn thick curly hair or is the goon grease fine. Because I wanted to try Goon Grease but I also want a pomade that will keep my pomp strong and straight.
Hey mate could you help me , I'm on a realy short budget and I'm lookin to buy some pomades. I have the most stubborn hair and I've been using heavy pomades for ever, how would you compare the hold to Dax Wave/Murray Superior? I usualy buy in pieces, 1 heavy hold(Dax or Murray) and a medium-light one for mixing but this product looks realy impressive
Bought this on your recommendation. This stuff is nigh on impossible to use. Won't come out of the tin, it's like trying to scoop out a candle. Also impossible to apply, forms lumps that won't rub in etc. Am I doing something wrong?
MrToxicSausage This is soft compared to other heavies...if you think this is too hard to scoop, then you should definitely stay away from most heavies.
+MrToxicSausage I had that same problem of scooping it out when I bought my tin too. What you could try next time is heat it up with a blowdryer. I did that once and now it's fairly easy to scoop out

i'm still can't find the alternative for Cockgrease XXXX since it is the heaviest pomade i ever used. Anyone know if Lockhart's Heavy Hold is heavier than Cockgrease XXXX or the same? or as same as Cockgrease XX ??
Bimo Pradana i havent tried cockgrease but all i can is that lockharts heavy is a petro heavy pomade and i live here in nevada and it just fucking tames my hair all throughout the day
dustin yomouf that's not what it means...oil based pomades don't come out in one shower, and the build up is what people like in oil based pomades. Next day styling means he styled his hair with what was left over after he shampooed...

Murray's is heavier in that it stay in your hair forever. Yes. But the hold is definitely not 'heavier'. Lockhart's Heavy is a lot stonger/heavier. That's what I meant...but yeah...I could definitely see how your styling time was cut in half. I've tried all those mentioned products.

Goon grease is more shiny, this has more a matt-natural-shine and a stronger hold than Goon Grease.
Thank you. Great video. Bought this on your recommendation. But how can you wash the pomade out?

Love these vids!! keep pumpin em out bro
what are the main differences in performance compared to goon grease?
Wondering the same thing
Okay I think I found out. This is heavier and better for thick, curly, and/or wavy hair. I'm about to buy this one since I have thick wavy hair.
+Zach G ah alright thanks man
Goon Grease has high shine. Heave Hold has no shine.
Did I get a bad batch possibly? I've been holding it under a hair dryer on high/hot and I can not get it soft enough to get out of the tin.
Same for me

You need a better comb
Have you tried founders pomade? Been hearing good thing's but I duuunnnoo...
Hey what type of haircut do you get in the back of the head and sideburns !!
HELP!!!! I have thick hair and i can not find a product that keeps my hair in place the whole day with high shine or at least good shine. I want to get that slick back look. Which product is the best???Thanks.
I had the same issue, I tried alot of pomade and the best is goon grease
Y’all recommend some oil base pomades for me. I’ve only tried Murray’s. I have hair exactly like Jim Morrison
Goon grease is good, but my favourite one is Reuzel Pink. I haven't tried Lockhearts heavy
@@christiaaanC7 Its a lot stronger than Reuz-Pink. Better for thick- wavy Hair. And have more a matt-natural shine. Also better in the heat.
this is probably a stupid Q but how hard is it to wash the pomade out?
water based pomade comes out after one wash. oil based comes out (for me) after around 4-5 washes, which is the con to most people. But other people like the fact that it doesnt come out right away. Are you gunna do a review on mom made pomade ?
If you want me to review it, email them and tell them to get in touch with me. Honest.
@@ThePomp calm down bro 😂
Which one's better? This or Goon Grease?
+The Pomp would you apply this pomade to damp or dry hair?
Is there anything out there heavier than this? If so which ones?
what pomade from lockhart's would you recommend for someone with straight thin hair who wants to form a decent sized pomp?
Medium
which one is heavier (stronger, more hold),
Lockhart's Heavy Hold
or
Schmiere Knupplehart????
VIPER SLAPER appreciate it, thanks bro

Goon Grease has more shine, like a traditional/vintage pomade from the '50s. Hard to say which is better, as you have to take into account personal preference and hair type.
+Micah Amyx Yeah I'm pretty sure the heavy has more hold and is more grippy. I have thick wavy hair that I slick back and it works well.
This or Imperial Classic?
You almost used a quarter of this pomade .. 😃
Which is better, this one or the Goon Grease?
what's your hair type and length
Hey man I just wanted to ask you if you would recommend this pomade for stubborn thick curly hair or is the goon grease fine. Because I wanted to try Goon Grease but I also want a pomade that will keep my pomp strong and straight.
Goon Grease is hands down....next level shit. But if it isn't strong enough for you, then this Heavy Hold should be enough.
The_Pomp. So you would recommend it cause I'm on the line on buying it or just going to the heavier hold.
I'm a proponent of Goon Grease.
Hey mate could you help me , I'm on a realy short budget and I'm lookin to buy some pomades.

I usualy buy in pieces, 1 heavy hold(Dax or Murray) and a medium-light one for mixing but this product looks realy impressive
Dax W&G and Murray's Superior are heavy products but not heavy hold products. Lockhart's Heavy will provide a lot more hold than those two products.
The Pomp Thanks for replying. I've tried it again since and it's gotten a lot softer. I guess it must of set hard during shipping.
MrToxicSausage also I think you need to dig under the hard wax layer.
+MrToxicSausage I had that same problem of scooping it out when I bought my tin too. What you could try next time is heat it up with a blowdryer. I did that once and now it's fairly easy to scoop out

yes
Do a review on Schmiere Hart
So this is matte? I need a really strong hold and want good shine to it too.
goon grease.....
Wich is better this or reuzel pink?
Depends on what kind of shine you want. Pink for High Hold/Shine, this for High Hold and Low/Medium Shine.
Next Review Lockharts Fire and brimstone please :) Limited and Sexy Scent James!
so many ppl in this video
btw you have thin hair!
"Next day styling" we all know you mean "that I don't always shower every day styling" haha I feel
dustin yomouf that's not what it means...oil based pomades don't come out in one shower, and the build up is what people like in oil based pomades. Next day styling means he styled his hair with what was left over after he shampooed...
okay lol, sorry, but thats not a high "pomp"
You call that a high pomp? lmao
