hey Olive... here you are on your last 'Californian leg', before heading to the East coast... somehow I just struggle with enjoying SF, partly probably because I don't like big cities so much anymore... the noise, the crowds, touristic areas and I think I have a bit of a skyscraper phobia... and I stop moaning right now! 🤣
The trams of course are fun, and I also watched them being pushed around for the trip back - somehow a must-see... and the sunset behind the Golden Gate bridge looks awesome, and so does the city line at night fall from the ferry!
Which reminds me of a fun memory of my childhood: my mother was into embroider from landscape templates, and hung the pictures then on the walls in our house... one I'll never forget was hanging above the TV couch in our living room, and it showed a bridge in front of a city sky line at night, and it looked to me as a child very 'American'... later I found out, that it was the Manhattan Bridge in New York - very smooth and elegant looking... haha! 🌇🌉😎

Hellooo 👋 Haha, well that's understandable... I'm curious, 🤔 did you grow up in a larger city or somewhere closer to nature? I grew up in a capital city and also lived in London, so big cities feel more like home to me 🏙💙. Even though I love nature and more remote places, I'm just used to always coming back to the city. Also, that's such a lovely memory! 😊🌉🌆

@@oliviaelenat ...thanks for asking! 🤗 I did indeed grow up in a small picturesque town in the south of Germany (I could see the Austrian and Swiss alps from a small hill behind our house), but then moved to the cities... longest I stayed as well in a capital one (Berlin) for 14 years! And I loved it then. But from there I moved back to the country side, to Scotland, where I live now... it may well be an age thing, that cities loose slowly of their pull and excitement... a good network of friends as well as cultural hubs are important to me, and I do have it here, and beautiful beaches, dunes + woodlands... but its too cold to swim in the sea! 😆

@@jornspirit what a beautiful place to grow up! 🌄 Having the right people around is the most important thing to me as well, and it's definitely what has tied me to cities, since that's where my family and friends are. 😊 Your move to the countryside sounds amazing though, Scotland’s nature must be so beautiful! 🏞
