This knife and that Bangle or whatever you spell it...maaaan, two most beautiful knives I have seen in a loooong time. How could I have missed this episode. Rastor is just insane, this is blade art and utility in its highest form for me - freaking awesome !
It's beautiful, but if it were mine I'd change one thing. Since you didn't end up getting the blue, I would have him reannodize the liners in some tone of gold or bronzish to capitalize on the brown and gold tones of the Damascus. Just my .02 as I think that would take it over the top.
mannnn.. guaranteeeedddd you have the best knife collection in the world! also you take the best pictures of your knives in the beginning of your videos .
I've been subbed for sometime now, even tho i know ill never be able to afford any of these wonderful knifes i love looking at all the detail and beauty lots of these knifes have!
I see your Phil Harvey Gladius as somewhat of an art knife, I've never seen anything like it and the quality appears to be off the charts. The Gladius is my other holy grail knife by the way. In fact, I emailed Phil and I guess his books are open and I went ahead and signed up for one. Going to start putting away money and saving now as of I have a 2-3 year wait.

Can you hear me now? I just e-mailed Mr. Harvey and got on the books for a Gladius. It's my grail too. I have an Alpha Beast V2 and an MM carbine rifle. Bricks are cool.
Stunning knife Jim....but honestly I would ask Reese to make a couple changes. I'd ask for him to maybe change the thumb stud, for something more decretive/ fancy. I would also ask him to redo the liners maybe a deep bronze/ purple. Still amazing tho :)
Its like a Rolex watch....OMFG Its soo frikkn gorgeous! I love these vids man keep on goin! :D Would be cool to see a vid to show different knives for different occasions. Work, leisure, evening out. etc...
Lovely knife. I dig the color scheme on it. I am not too keen on Krambit blade style knives without the actual ring. I say this because of the Krambit blade style, which can get stuck on a object when in use. I've had to defend my self using my actual Krambit (with the ring), and boy... I cannot stress enough how valuable the ring became in those incidents. You end up swiping and using the knife to counter/block etc. and the ring helped me to keep in control of the knife. I know for certain, without the ring, I could have easily lost my grip and had the knofe knocked away from me or lose control of the knife when it got stuck.
@@JimSkeltonKnives Thank u Jim. I would love to show u my Reese Weiland collection. I also have a Bat. And a Wolverine. Resse is building me a Dire Wolf as we speak. And then he will be building me a Pit Viper.
Wieland makes fantastic knives, I know Jim doesn't think it's stabby enough but I LOVE the Slash, the Slash sword and the Slash balli (I found a contractor who makes large machined aluminum spikes all anodized with a kydex scabbard for when I need something stabby)
With the ivory I would have gone lighter colors or even high polish stainless on it. The white and dark don't do it for me. Nonetheless, I like the detail of your videos as a teaching tool. Great job.
I know people have said it but the ONLY things I would do would be getting the liners in a gold or bronze, and just... something else with the thumb stud. I know it's intended to be an automatic but that really looks like an afterthought. Now if it's intended to be minimalistic so it doesn't draw your eyes from the rest of this fucking masterpiece, then yeah, makes sense, but for me it's kind of like putting a twenty dollar trigger on a thousand dollar thousand dollar race Glock. But yeah, bitching aside, hoooooly shit man. That damascus is literally the most beautiful blade material I have ever seen. I've seen some cool shit on bolsters, but nothing like this on an actual blade. I think the ivory was the only way to go here too. Something like anodized Ti would have looked cheap in comparison but any other synthetic material with a pattern in it would have cluttered it too much. The ivory is plain, but at the same time gorgeous, and is truly worthy of sitting between those bolsters. I don't even want to know what you dropped on this one but I know it was worth it for a true piece of art.
Love yer vidz + yer insane collection (this one being no exception), but I just gotta say this: A good chunk of your vidz showcase awesome blades that you just gotta admit aren't very practical for a buncha reasons. Even excluding cost, some of those beasts just don't strike me as being usable in daily situations... Regardless, more power to ya, cause us less financially-liberated fellas can live vicariously thru yer insane showcases vidz.
Reese: hey I have a few minutes, do you want something done? Jim: make me something fucking crazy and huge. Basically the equivalent of somebody saying "hey can I get you something to eat? And you saying "yeah do you have a dozen white truffles?" Haha love the video Jim, keep em coming my friend!
How much does a knife like this usually cost? This is honestly beautiful. I cant stop watching your videos, especially this one. I just recently become interested in knives, and forging in general. Your videos are great though! pS: I love this knife. I want it.
+Josiah Von Briel Jim specifies it's "Pre-ban" ivory. This means that it's over (I think) 100 years old and this means it was yielded before ivory sale/trade was made illegal
Nanner Hammock You're doing nothing to protect the elephants being illegally killed in Africa and Asia due to poverty and corruption by going after people with legal ivory that's decades (or even centuries) old. Ivory is desirable because it is intrinsically beautiful and useful as a material to make stuff from. Those simple facts are never going to change. Going after people who legally own ivory that's decades, even centuries old does nothing to address the real problems that are in Africa. It's a simple case of picking your battles.
TrilobiteTerror does legally owned ivory have a stamp on it that says"legal"? There's no way to differentiate legal from illegal so, like conflict diamonds, they sell illegal ivory as legal and get away with it.
Well if a knife enters you, i'd argue that particular knife is the deadliest knife... It is all down to the user and where the blade is placed in the body...
The knife looks amazing. I don't know though, if I paid that kind of money and was expecting one thing and got another i wouldn't be very happy. Also with that caliber of maker I don't buy that excuse for the bolster. Maybe because I don't know what Im talking about but I would never let that go out to the customer.
+Martin H There isn't a way to put images in the description. Most people follow me on either Instagram or FB (or have the ability to easily do so) where the full size images are sitting right now.
play the video form 11:55 to 12:20 just listening to the audio...
That's down right hilarious!
LMFAO

Genius.
this is an underrated comment hahaha

I totally agree with that. And the thumb stud is horrible. Make it titanium and same collor as the gold liners.
Love living vicariously through you, Jim. What an amazing collection you must have by now...
mannnn.. guaranteeeedddd you have the best knife collection in the world! also you take the best pictures of your knives in the beginning of your videos .
This knife is amazing! I'm in love!!
now that is a beautiful piece of art. stunning piece you have there
This is a beautiful knife serving it's purpose as an art piece. That damascus is captivating.
Holy Christ thats the most beautiful knife I’ve ever seen. That thing is siiiiick.
One of the most beautiful knives I’ve ever seen. Wow...

lol nice penis joke as well around 12:05 :P
So Nice !
Jim, You truly are a Blessed Man !
The coolest and most beautiful knife i ever seen
Love this, man. Absolutely beautiful
absolute best and funniest review you have made
There is some kind of special wax for the ivory to keep it from yellowing. You need to apply it occasionally.

Heck of a pickup brother. Definitely a vid I've been looking forward too
yep...sure is a creation of beauty :) congratulations on owning/having such an item. wish I had one ;)

Love the color scheme on this one. I would love to see a more practical knife with similar colors and materials.
Absolutely gorgeous Jim!!
Love it! Wish the thumb stud was ivory as well though..
I found your Kwaiken video, liked it, subbed. Now I'm in a totally new knife universe. Amazing!
I honestly can't stand how gorgeous it is.
Lovely knife. I dig the color scheme on it.

I'd love having this in my collection!
its rely beautiful like karambet and the outo open locks rely nice
Jim. I recently bought a Reese Weiland Rastor it has a 6 in blade. Gold Damascus. And Gold Timascus bolsters with Pre ban ivory handles.
That sounds amazing! Congratulations

Holy crap jim that is sweet, I'm guessing you probably own a few rainy vallotons, if you do I'd love to see them sir!!
This is so B E A U T I FULL that i'm amazed...strange shape of the blade, beautifull looking handle, it's A M A Z I N G looking folder, L O V E it...
What a BEAUTY Jim!!!
Jim you have truly beautiful knives. Is there a dealer that you use or do you go to the manufacture directly?
The background you use on the thumbnail of your videos is gorgeous! Would love to see regular items on it lol
Robert Ri That's black Italian Marble, it would be nothing but a bright reflection if I did videos on it lol
Would be a cool coffee table if you ask me
Robert Ri Thanks now I have to find one lol
unholyshape yeah probably me to lol
omg I don't collect knives, but I can tell what quality is and boy these bad boys are amazing.
I really enjoy your reviews. I just wish that I could afford just one of your knives
Totally wicked! Very very excellent!
wooooow nice how i can buy one of this fold nife brother?
That's a beautiful knife 😍😍
Hey so after they heat anodize the steel how deep does that penetrate?
I always want the edge to look the same as the rest of the blade......
i may have missed it, whats the price on one of these?
13:43 what knife is that?
How do you get that color on Damascus?
Is there such thing of buying one of those from your friend
There was a voice in the back of my head saying "That's what she said" through half of this video. Nice to know I am still 5... Nice vid
where do you buy your knives

Absolutely beautiful! Though personally I'd prefer the liners to be more of a dark red or something similar to the damascus.
scratch on the blade @ 9:16? Hope not!
That's beautiful!
Why aren't brass knuckles legal to carry if this is?
Wow! Amazing knife :)
The reflections off the bolsters are blue in tint.
"It's not a midget, it's a little knife." XD lol
how much money did you spend for it? It looks way too expensive! is its price in the 10grand range?
Goddamn. Sorry to ask but how much was the negotiated price??
Are you planning on getting a Stan Wilson in the Future? Because he is the most talented knifemaker I know ^^
How the hell is that Damascus made, that is some craftsmanship
the only thing that bugs me is that thumbstud
agreed its WAY to tiny

This reminds me of the upgraded knife in the game Dishonored, truly awesome
Imagine this in a size of an XL Cold Steel Espada. That'll be awesome, but I'm not sure if it would be even possible.
how can i buy one of these razor?
Ron best knives are the most top tier of insane art knives I've ever seen short of steigerwalts

awsome knife I would use it every day
"when I pull it out and they see it they're like Oh my God" -Jim s 2015
Dang I love this 😍😍😍
factory new?
wow Jim you must have a thousand knives!
That is by far the prettiest knife I have ever seen
Gorgeous!
what do you do for a living for you to afford many $1000+ knives??
how did he get ivory
+Josiah Von Briel Jim specifies it's "Pre-ban" ivory. This means that it's over (I think) 100 years old and this means it was yielded before ivory sale/trade was made illegal
just like all ivory acquired recently is marketed... pre-ban is like non-conflict in the diamond industry. it's bullshit. don't buy ivory.
Pre-ban ivory is specifically decades old (somethings even centuries old). What are you talking about?
Nanner Hammock
You're doing nothing to protect the elephants being illegally killed in
Africa and Asia due to poverty and corruption by going after people with legal ivory that's decades (or even centuries) old. Beauty of a knife. I'm a big fan of karambits, so that blade is wicked to me. The most deadly of all knives in my opinion.
Well if a knife enters you, i'd argue that particular knife is the deadliest knife... It is all down to the user and where the blade is placed in the body...
He said opinion at the end of it, chill man.
Mr. SirKing Well that's just like, you know, like your opinion man.
The Dude
Woops, sorry i came off as so angry... Didn't mean it :P it is hard to express emotion in text xD
How did you get ivory?
It's pre-ban (decades, possibly even centuries old).
how expensive is pre ban ivory
It depends on what type of ivory, how big it it, what it is (if it's an actual antique object or just blanks to make stuff out of) etc.
TrilobiteTerror Thanks for explaining
lol this has to be one of the most ridiculously gorgeous knives i seen
I think if I was going to get a knife of this price range then I would want a fixed blade especially if I plan on actually carrying and using it.
how much
where are you getting the money to afford all this
The knife looks amazing. I don't know though, if I paid that kind of money and was expecting one thing and got another i wouldn't be very happy. The best art of a blade is how it's used.
I almost died when he mentioned dropping it on the pavement
Magnifique !!!!!!👍
How much was this damn
have to test the waters sometimes just like a new guitar
idc about knives, I dont even carry one. But I do enjoy some good craftsmanship.
Reminds me of a Stan Wilson!
Should have just included the photos in the description, cant really see much in a thumbnail...
