TheGreatWhodini what lol no idea what your referencing or trying to say. the blood groove thing is a false statement it's actually there to reduce weight in this case probably for looks but I presume you all ready knew that
sergio perez see thats where you were wrong, I never called it a blood groove, its a blood trench in this case, of course not to hold blood, but to hold guacamole
Der Puetz Der Puetz Fun fact: it probably isn't. Even though there are some precedents after which it may be considered legal to carry it's still totally up to the law executive to judge whether it falls under 42a or not. They may even consider it a weapon with that size at which point nothing matters anymore and you're fucked
Der Puetz read some declaratory decisions from the LKA; while a fixed blade with over 12cm is generally outruled they still assess if a knife should be considered a weapon by criteria like bladeshape, size, appearance etc. and if it's found to match these criteria they outrule it.
The decision are make by the Bka. And as you said, in specific cases they decide about the legallity of the knife (if it is legal to own And carry, if it is legal to own And restricted/forbidden to carry, or if the knife is iilegal in Germany) Until this decision, the knife is just a two handed opener. In the end this is a hypothetical case to show how weird the german laws are.
I really enjoy how Jim's reviewing has evolved as he's gotten into knife making. The detailed comments regarding the crafting skills that goes into the blades is much appreciated!
I agree that's why I had Dan at DSK make me a kickstand. It's the least practical knife I own but when I take it out of my pocket people's jaws drop. $1100 well spent for me
Dude, I love shit like this. This is the kind of stuff that makes me love knives. Over the top, huge, overbuilt, but so SO badass. A knife's core value doesn't come from whether it's good at EDC or mundane cutting tasks. Is the edge sharp? Then it'll cut. It's a knife. It's true value comes from what the owner wants it to do. It comes from what the MAKER wants it to BE. Did Phil make this thing to be a letter opener? No he didn't. He made this thing to be a behemoth, an intimidating beast from the imagination. And God damn did he succeed. Good job to Phil Harvey on this, this is a true piece of work.
So I saw this video pop up on my notifications and my first thought was, "what the fuck is that", and like all of Jim's videos I watch it skeptical and then went... WOW.. what a sweet find and what a sweet piece of art. I carry a Todd Heeter MOW daily I am curious how that would stack up. I know this is clearly bigger than the MOW but now my mind is going, "wouldn't that be FUN to carry for conversation!!!!". This is an AMAZING piece great video Jim super super cool as always.
I COMPLETELY blame Jim for getting on Phil's books... I have a Rhino coming the end of the month. Damn you (thank you) Jim, for some of the most fun knife reviews out there
That is literally perfect to chop up poultry, i lost my favourite Japanese Cleaver when moving last month. I better start saving up now! Amazing knife!
Ahhhh Jim I fuckin love your videos man the unfiltered language is something that's missing in a lot of people's reviews. You never see people walking down the street with a sword on their back. And if you do their a fuckin phyco! 😂😂😂
Very well explained bro, Humans have depended on sharpened pieces of steel for far longer than we have tamed fire .. Our history is the history of the edged tool
I remember when Jim kind of dogged the design of the Razel and praises this fantasy folder. It would be good to dig my holes to shit in while camping. It's a refreshing design, I guess. I'll stick to my Horton knives
This is a really sexy knife if, I can afford a knife like that I'll EDC it. I have the DMO Breacher what, I EDC.Can I ask is the blade been knicked towards the front of the blade non clip side.
My only complaint on this one would be all the right angles in the handle with such a big heavy knife I get a feeling you'll really feel those if you ever use it but it's still beautiful and I know it's not meant to be used
This blade is like a bowie version of Narsil, the snapped magical sword in the Lord of the Rings, before it was reforged into Anduríl. I wonder what this would look like if you extended the blade 8 inches outward and made it a fixed blade in stead?
What a beautiful work of art. I want it to be my heavy duty gardening knife! Impractical? Hardly! I'd beat the shit out of this knife, I'd baton my firewood before cleaning it up and cracking pork ribs for BBQ.
Phil Harvey, I do get it, and I wish I could buy one from you. Thank you very much for creating this knife! Is there somewhere I can view your other works?
Phil Harvey, I subscribed to your channel, when I'm not in my son's room helping him calm down for sleep I'll check it out. I'll go check out your Instagram as well. I mainly post food stuff, breads and things seem popular for me. This knife looks great for culling birds too! I bought a thick German Cleaver when I culled my hens last year, this knife here is much sexier!
Christopher Welker Nice? Fuck that, this is the best paper weight out there. I put it on a stack of papers and turned the fan on high... shit stayed put like a mofo.
Liked the video! Couple of observations. First, don't drop it. Second, if Maker Phil Harvey would reduce the size by 40% and make it a flipper; he would be a millionaire in two years.
its more practical than you think, the blood trench is actually great for a guacamole holder
TheGreatWhodini it's called a fuller
sergio perez fuller wets the bed
TheGreatWhodini what lol no idea what your referencing or trying to say. the blood groove thing is a false statement it's actually there to reduce weight in this case probably for looks but I presume you all ready knew that
sergio perez see thats where you were wrong, I never called it a blood groove, its a blood trench in this case, of course not to hold blood, but to hold guacamole
TheGreatWhodini it should hold guacamole well haha possibly chips to
"And no i don't have a scale on me because my last name isn't Escobar"
Man that line was beautiful
it looks like a sword blade was broken off then it was turned into a folder.
Fun fact:
since this is a two-handed opener only, it is fully legal to carry in Germany.
Too big, so false.
Der Puetz Der Puetz Fun fact: it probably isn't. With folding knves, the size does not matter.

Ridiculous and impractical on every level. Want one.
Well said ! "ill never understand why anyone feels the need to justify something they spent "their" money on.
Not every. it cuts.
abrams atwo then again people did spend there money on a 100+ dollar brick that stupidly
point remains in my view .
Balh _ WHAT ?! MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY LOL !!
"That sure is a great folding shovel" okay that one was funny
A talk show, hosting Family Feud, movies, stand-up. Is there anything Phil Harvey can't do?!
nice pocket shovel
flor van soeki beat me to it
BLAHAHAHAHAHA....YEAH BOUT ALL ITS GOOD FOR OMG WHAT A WASTE
this is sick, I would EDC this just because "why not" . we are knife people and this is a monster
Great videos man, love the passion you have for the finer blade, thanks.
It looks like he broke the tip during production and just said fuck it
THATS WHAT HAPPEN...OMG THATS JUST UGLY
Looking forward to "The Phil Harvey Piecemaker: The Full Nick Shabazz Review!"
I was going to comment about this folding trowel, but Jim's got it covered.
looks like someone cut a blade of a fantasy sword, and left a hilt
WOW !!! Honestly I would trade my soul for either of those knives absolutely gorgeous
I agree that's why I had Dan at DSK make me a kickstand. It's the least practical knife I own but when I take it out of my pocket people's jaws drop. $1100 well spent for me

Kamoe Desu 👏👍👍👊
Kamoe Desu well said sir!
Now that about says it all.
Bravo!
“I don’t have a scale on me because my last name isn’t Escobar”
meanwhile I use 1/16 - 1/8'' blade stock and usually 1/8'' scales. this thing's blade stock is thicker than my entire folders.
One of your best vids ever!!
I suddenly felt inadequate watching this. I can count on one hand how many times this has happened.
So I saw this video pop up on my notifications and my first thought was, "what the fuck is that", and like all of Jim's videos I watch it skeptical and then went... Apocalyptic 1985 If You Ever In NYC Look Me Up,Bring Your Mow I'll Bring My Piece Maker👍👍👊😉😈
Great video and talk. I'm getting more into "art-knives" now, after watching an listening to you.
it's beautiful. like someone broke a sword and turned into a folder. not in any way a "pocket knife" but still a gorgeous folder
This is what Optimus Prime uses after a beautiful steak dinner with Mrs. Prime
😂😂hahaha yeah !
After? Is he murdering Her!!!!
@@kadenledez7433 no. It's his dick
Killer video Jim love seeing true craftsmanship his knives R off the charts you just have to LOVE it😆👍
That's one over-the-top pizza slicer.
Well done sir on another great review. That knife made me giggle at the sheer spectacle ....
I COMPLETELY blame Jim for getting on Phil's books... I have a Rhino coming the end of the month. Damn you (thank you) Jim, for some of the most fun knife reviews out there
Thank you for hosting this 'thing' Jim. Fucking amazing! I call it: Folding blue whale.
I see this as a full sized sword that has been cut down so it can be "carried"
I love it!
These huge, burly, overbuilt, impractical knives are so badass. They are works of art in my opinion.
That is literally perfect to chop up poultry, i lost my favourite Japanese Cleaver when moving last month. I better start saving up now! Amazing knife!
I think I would feel comfortable using this to chop down brush and small trees and basically anything that you would need to chop down
Ahhhh Jim I fuckin love your videos man the unfiltered language is something that's missing in a lot of people's reviews. You never see people walking down the street with a sword on their back. And if you do their a fuckin phyco! 😂😂😂
Very well explained bro, Humans have depended on sharpened pieces of steel for far longer than we have tamed fire .. Our history is the history of the edged tool
I didn't see it's listed on blade parade, but I'm extremely interested in buying one, is there anyway you can please help
If You Are On IG Or FB Hit Up Phil Harvey😈
Holy shit and I still got finger prints on it. I was laughing so hard
Balloons don't have a reason, but everyone enjoys them. Pretty neat knife.
Arnold voice "Get me the choppa".
This thing is utterly pointless and way too expensive. And I want one, right now.
Literally pointless as well
I love it.....its mad crazy and I would love one of these bad boys
Wow.love it.need one.massive folding chopper.wow again.
The knife for butchers, lumberjacks and John Carpenter movie characters with an active lifestyle.Great review.
It takes a lot of Ball to carry something like this
Where'd the front of the pocket sword go?
for the Yakuza, to cut off fingers!
I remember when Jim kind of dogged the design of the Razel and praises this fantasy folder. It would be good to dig my holes to shit in while camping. It's a refreshing design, I guess. I'll stick to my Horton knives
O.M.G. AMAZING piece of knifery.
Pocket sculpture, and im not evem sure about the pocket part... backpack?
That blade looks spooky
it's like some final fantasy blade to match the sword, i think it's cool .
"Piecemaker" Right on!
Haven't even seen the video & can say from the channel pic it's badass..
that knife would have to replace my wallet in my back pocket
This is a really sexy knife if, I can afford a knife like that I'll EDC it. I have the DMO Breacher what, I EDC.Can I ask is the blade been knicked towards the front of the blade non clip side.
I asked him about the blade and he said I assume when someone asks for a cleaver they wanna actually cleave something.
Such a remarkable beastblade.
For when a baby T-Rex needs a circumcision
Coolest gardening shovel EVER.
What is the price point and where would you get one
That's a pretty sweet box opener.
Beautiful
That's big enough the blade ought to have a smartphone installed in it. Thanks for the review.
My only complaint on this one would be all the right angles in the handle with such a big heavy knife I get a feeling you'll really feel those if you ever use it but it's still beautiful and I know it's not meant to be used
Matthew Burn I Use Mine!!😈
thats the coolist knife i ever did see.
I'd have traded the pocket clip for a nice leather belt pouch. Hell of a crazy thing though, no denying it's raw animal magnetism.
Any thoughts on dkc blades?
How do you even MAKE that blade...insane, what a craftsman...I mean, "how is it supposed to remove a splinter" =)
and because of this and this alone, I no longer want a grail knife
The piecemaker, good for when you want to kill a whole family of deer and then dig a World War 1 style trench network.
That is insane !
That's not a knife. THIS is a knife.
Now I know what to use when I have a "Cowboy Cut" steak!
One day this knife maker will make a knife so big it will destroy us all! And that's not a knife it's a space station .
Beautiful!
Wait... Is it actually supposed to be a folding shovel?
I salute the craftsmanship of the knife maker, but , um, I'll pass.
looks like a sword that got snapped in half lol
Wtf I thought it was small until u picked it up with ur hand 😂I was like holy shit
This blade is like a bowie version of Narsil, the snapped magical sword in the Lord of the Rings, before it was reforged into Anduríl. I wonder what this would look like if you extended the blade 8 inches outward and made it a fixed blade in stead?
Is the detent good enough to hold the blade shut because that would be impressive with a blade that massive
Peter Richards yeah, I've tried shaking it out, even a sharp snapping motion... that blade won't come out on its own
Jim Skelton that is amazing 👏 round of applause for Phil because there are some makers out there with much smaller blade stock that shake right on out
Peter Richards lmao I was gonna ask this exact thing.
I like it. And I guess, similar to a chefs chopping knife or cleaver, it still is a knife. Though, imo that is a borderline folding hatchet.
You must not have your Gladius anymore. It would have been interesting to see the comparison.
Is that a nick in the cutting edge toward the tip?
Phil Harvey .....the Phil Harvey ?!? BadAss of a blade there man, great job!
Okay ... why dosen't this knife have a place to buy it ?????
The blade on that sumbitch is thicker that a damn car door, love it
A blade so thick it's probably bullet proof
Mi gusta. I'd take a clip point version of that.
I like it looks great
If my last name was Escobar, I most certainly would buy one. ...or two
I literally started laughing at the absurdity at first.... but damn i want one!! 😜
What a beautiful work of art. I want it to be my heavy duty gardening knife! Impractical? Hardly! I'd beat the shit out of this knife, I'd baton my firewood before cleaning it up and cracking pork ribs for BBQ.

What a hunk of fucking steel. Take my money!!!
Do I.. flick the blade out or am I just swinging the handle out, really?
Its a nice paperweight
Christopher Welker Nice? Fuck that, this is the best paper weight out there. I put it on a stack of papers and turned the fan on high... shit stayed put like a mofo.
Cleaves thru your skull? Ok mad max
Liked the video! Couple of observations. First, don't drop it. Second, if Maker Phil Harvey would reduce the size by 40% and make it a flipper; he would be a millionaire in two years.
Why a pocket clip???
how much
