Hi Buddy, I’m a Line Haul Driver also. I’ve found it helpful to hook the airlines & pig tail from the Dolly to your lead Trailer before backing under the rear pup. Just to make sure your lights are working on your Dolly & offers some brake lights when backing under your rear trailer. Helps @ night 🇺🇸
IMO - backing up the trailer and dolly means you have to start as straight and aligned with your new rear as possible. It takes some practice and some space while practicing which it looked like you didn't have a lot of space to work with....bottom of the wheel in reverse "says" which way the back of the trailer goes. When you've got a dolly you watch the top and DO NOT forget that the dolly is going to react a LOT faster because of how short the distance is from the rear axle of the trailer and the axle of the dolly. You can usually recover a trailer from a long way off but once a dolly on the rear of a front trailer starts to move sideways, she's a gonner...time to pull forward..... Definitely true on the switchers hooking up sets - we had a guy who never used the yard tractor. He always selected this particular old sidewinder Mack that nobody ever touched. No power steering, 6 speed tranny....and yeh, it was his daily workout and you could tell. Super kind guy too - would help anybody any time. I offered the yard truck to him one night because i wanted to see if I could do it but he wouldn't take the yard truck. Lo and behold a few nights later the yard truck was inop and guess what - nothing but old mack's......lol
Yup. Been practicing the past couple months with backing the gear to my drag box with it attached to my lead already. Takes me anywhere between 5 and even fifteen minutes lol
@@MrByTheMile Keep at it - It took 1000's of tries to get the light bulb right too. Glad to see you pushing the tire - makes life a lot easier. You'll have times you'll need to "dance" to the other side but overall it does make life easier when appropriate....
Great content, keep up the great work driver. Keep the time lapse, stay safe out there. It’s not veteran’s day yet, but just wanted to say appreciate your service Sir!
Love the videos man! The time lapse are awesome wouldn’t change anything about it besides daily uploads haha! keep up the good content man. I watch bc I’m planning on joining the union.
So how is your drop and hook pay established? Is it by all time spent if so how is it calculated? Is it by punch marks on paperwork or is it figured electronically by arrival and departing times?

Your editing and time lapse is outstanding. Thank you. Just don’t link to TikTok like that other guy does. Safe running. 🇺🇸🍺

if u ever decide to back your lead to rear trailer. i hook up air to gear, it backs up to rear trailer better then hook and book ......
Please explain how hooking your air lines first is an advantage? And some trailers have dummy glad hands, so that won't work.
You Are doing great
enjoy the time lapse .....

What do you use to store all your luggage in
Milwaukee Packout boxes! I've shown my setup in previous videos but I can show it again in the future.
The videos are fine, but please post more often
