Sea Fishing UK | Reculver, Kent | An Evening Session For Hounds

- After a storm the day before and tide times and conditions suiting, I headed to Reculver to target Smooth hounds. I knew it would be busy with anglers but I wasn't prepared for how busy! After chatting with a few fishermen and seeing a nice fish landed I squeezed myself into an awkward spot hoping to land the target species.

I went there a couple of weeks ago got soaked through and it was packed out and I blanked
Nice meeting you that evening mate and thanks for adding me in your footage what a evening it was with bass on the surface right the way along the beach I end the night with 8 hounds to being doubles the biggest 12lb10oz and also my mate Martin landing he's first beach caught hound

Well done on your session mate and nice seeing a double caught from the shore that evening kinda wish I’d stayed but the weed was horrendous where i was… always next time…

Great vid as usual, those rocks are so dangerous in those treacherous conditions , you're definitely dedicated to bringing us all top content 👍.And we'll done to my mate Spencer who had a cracking session that night , he got me into sea fishing last year , great bloke, once again great vid and be lucky 👍

Also the site of a Roman camp, the walls of which are still there, and where the bouncing bomb was tested in WW2.

Please stop picking these wonderful fish up by there tails.
If there is a better way please tell me. They're not being picked up by their tail it's the back end of their body which is pure muscle and far safer for the fish as us anglers get a good grip and are far less likely to drop and damage the fish. The front of these fish is covered in thousands of sensors so that's a no go, the fins are delicate, you don't want to drag them across the sand or pebbles and a gaff inflicts a wound.
I think this way is by far the least harmful to the fish and safest for both fish and fisherman
@@gsp hi mate I know it was difficult being on your own and on the rocks. But sharks have no skeleton just cartilage and lifting them by the tail puts pressure on there vital organs.its a lot easier when your fishing with a mate one holds the tail one holds the snout spin the fish upside down this stops it thrashing about and you can pop the hook out.i was shown how to do it this way by legendary thames estuary charter skipper john rawle.
