Hmm! Imagine, at your place of work, some money goes missing. You get blamed. If you deny it you are threatened with court resulting in prison. Or if you admit it you just get a suspended sentence or community punishment. So to avoid prison you admit guilt. Over and done with you think. Then your company sues you for court costs because you were found guilty, you owe £350,000 in court costs. Your life ruined. This company is called the Post Office. Their logo is " whatever you need us for, we're here for you". They spent £100 million in expensive lawyers to try to avoid paying £58 million in compensation. The class action saw the incorrectly convicted see £20,000 in compensation after court costs. The executive salaries were between £250,000 and £500,000. Post Office investigators were given bonuses for every Horizon conviction. The horizon system was the cheapest available and is still in use and has millions spent on updates.
How is it that somebody didn't say " there is a problem here, when did it start and work from when it started." to find out the source of the problem. I mean it's not rocket science is it. Oh no, they have stolen loads of money and they are going down. Well sorry I feel that this has gone on far to long and heads should roll. In my business if I did something wrong or caused harm I would be dragged through the legal system and end up paying heavily for it and quite right. Nobody in either of the two companies involved have the balls to hold their hands up and say yes WE GOT IT WRONG. There seems to be a fair amount of people in these two sectors that don't have a spine.
Yes those at the post office should be prosecuted, they put a new system "Horizon", and suddenly 700+postmaster/mistress, suddenly start stealing from them, are they Seriously expecting us all to believe that not one person observed what was happening and did not think there was something was Seriously wrong, "Not one", I for one do not believe that.
