I purchased my first Neewer NW-8000 in July 2021. When I opened the box and plugged it in I had a horrible echo and constant humming. I tried altering the sound settings and nothing made it better. I reached out to Neewer and they sent me out a new one saying, "I must have just gotten a bad one." However, all of the same issues I had on the first one were still present. The echo/reverb (or delay from mic to speakers) made this microphone unuseable. Hopefully, by watching more of these reviews I will find out if anyone is having the same issues I am.
i just got this mic, it´s really really great, got it in aliexpress for 16usd, pretty awesome, sorry for spelling or gramatical mistakes, i'm from mexico.
mine came on sunday and i just tried it out. I am very far from experienced with mics, but from what I could tell it worked pretty well (i used it to record some piano). One thing i noticed is that it doesn't like to work in specific circumstances. For example, when I tried it with my chromebook, I used online-voice-recorder.com/ but it picked up hardly anything, and the same problem happened with my laptop when I used that site. But just using the default audio recorder on windows it worked fine. There was a little bit of white noise in the background, but i was recording in a large open space, which probably didn't help, and there are probably other ways to decrease that noise too. (idk if he'll actually reply to you since it's been a while since his video was uploaded, so i hope this helps a bit?)
i need help, for some reason mine picks up all the background noise, and I cant stop it. can you help because I literally cannot change the microphone boost level in sound settings
Don't know if you are still reading the comments, but I bought this mic and am having some pretty big issues! It is a new PC build, fairly high spec'd, 650Watt PSU, and USB3.2 ports. I have it plugged in with the latest audio drivers, but the mic is still VERY quiet, as in even on microphone level 100 it is too quiet. Forced to use it at microphone level 100 and using Equalizer APO I can boost the pre-amp. But then it gets that really annoying buzzing sound. Any ideas would be great, it definitely does not sound as good as it does in this video. Thanks
Thanks for the comment, this mic kit seemed to of worked fine on my home pc and laptop, I have had the opportunity to try it on my sons pc and a few other laptops and you are right, the sound level is not the same on the particular PCs. I would advise trying a sound card, maybe one with a fine tune mixer built-in they are Relatively cheap but it will be worth it and it will stop any type of background static too.
@@Gogetyours Absolute legend, thanks for the reply - I appreciate it very much. Just wondering though, how would a sound card affect a USB mic like the nw8000USB? Sound cards don't usually have USB inputs, so it wouldn't connect directly to the sound card right? Would it just be more audio processing power that makes it sound louder/clearer? I'll give that a shot though! Thanks again, great videos, and great engagement with your viewers :)
@@turtlesquasher yeah that's correct, XLR mic kits work great with sound cards, as long as the cable is a decent one and not a cheap low budget one. iv used an XLR mic kit with sound card in the past and i had to swap out the cable from the kit as it was the main thing causing the overall sound pickup to sound quite poor. you can get an USB sound card but they are a lot more expensive. overall the sound should be more clear and sound should be more professional. So maybe consider swapping to XLR cable too? Here is and example of what kit some stores are offering with sound card etc www.banggood.com/custlink/KKKhZWHa4w

@@turtlesquasher No, the only fix was the same microphone from a different manufacturer. Neewer is an awful company from everything I have read. Can get good from them, but mostly garbage.
I have a MacBook and have tried everything to get this microphone to work, I’ve used my windows computer as well to make sure my computer wasn’t faulty. But it still doesn’t work. Do you have any tips on how I can get it to work?
You simply plug the mic’s USB cable into any open USB port. These mics have a small pre-amplifier chip built into their chassis, allowing them to take in audio and output a digital signal. Headset microphones that are compatible with macOS will connect over USB or the headphone jack. Either way, it’s a plug-and-play operation. There should be no configuration required to get the microphone to pick up audio. Just make sure you select the microphone as your input Open the “Sound” preference pane in System Preferences. Within that preference pane, you’ll see two tabs: “Input” and “Output.” Click on the “Input” tab and find your microphone or audio interface, and set it as the system input. While most digital audio workstations allow you to select your input from within the application, setting the input at the system level streamlines the recording process. To set the device for input, click on it within the list of available audio interfaces. If you do not see the audio interface in this list, first make sure that the audio interface is turned on and connected properly. Make sure it’s plugged directly into your Mac rather than a USB hub. You’ll also want to set your output device appropriately. If you will be monitoring your mic from the headphone jack on your audio interface, make sure the audio interface is selected in the “Output” tab of the Sounds preference pane. If you will be connecting headphones to your Mac’s headphone jack, make sure “Built-In” is selected as the audio output.
