Sanyo (UK) 3 pin battery charger with battery acid damage - can it be fixed, or is it totally dead?

Welcome to the Retro Tech Loft, thanks for stopping by, it is much appreciated!
I have had this Sanyo battery charger hanging about for ages, waiting for me to get round to fxing it.
Today is the day!
It has 4 slots that are dual function AA and AAA chargers.
2 of the charging slots had died, when a couple of AA batteries were left in it, in a box in the loft, for over a year.
I really hoped this was salvageable as battery chargers are increasing in price at the moment (As is everything else)
If it can be saved, it is better than throwing it away!
