08/13/2017 - Severe Thunderstorm Warning With Hail - Dawson County, Nebraska

- Tornado season is long over, but that doesn't stop the occasional thunderstorms with frequent lightnings, heavy precipitation, gusty winds and hail from occurring in the Midwest.
This supercell thunderstorm dumped both rain and pea to quarter size hail in Dawson County, Nebraska, and for a little while, prompted a tornado warning (although no tornado was sighted). Regardless, it put up a very spectacular light show, which ultimately lit up the huge shelf cloud and its adjacent hail core, turning night into day by half a second.
Although I did not encounter hail size greater than a quarter, damage was done to neighboring communities later on, in which the storm rapidly strengthened, and baseball sized hail was reported.

One of the main reasons I moved to the great plains, the weather is often mesmerizing in this part of the country especially in spring and summer months. Thunderstorms help me sleep so I feel like I made the best decision to move to Omaha.

Nice video! And this video was posted on the one year anniversary of an EF3 tornado striking my town and warranting a tornado emergency.
