    Interesting that the UK Government is happy to " follow the Science " when it comes to Covid 19........but strangely not when it comes to drugs legislation.

    I'm an ex drug addict and ex dealer who's taken everything and now I'm clean and on the straight and narrow (apart from smoking marijuana daily and LSD as an occasional treat). I know drugs and the drug world well and now I'm training to become a drug counsellor to help people.
    I've always agreed with everything David Nutt says. He's very clever and he's very good hearted and should be listened to and taken seriously by as many people as possible

    David Nutt should be in charge of drug policy. It should be based on facts and evidence, instead of fear and trying to win votes.

    The last year has proved that beyond any doubt.

    One problem I see here when he shows the LSD efficacy chart is that it's using 'meta-analysis' which is looked down upon in scientific circles. Nevertheless despite someone commenting on him saying there's a need for new chemicals to be developed and that there's already 'off label' uses of existing compounds that are prescribed, psychedelics like LSD change the actual addictive mentality not just curb cravings.

    • @IQuickscopeCA
      @IQuickscopeCA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      meta analysis just combines the results of multiple studies so you read alot of information more concisely. im not sure which scientific circle youre referring to

    "... The enormous harm... Is caused by its widespread use...", referring to tobacco and alcohol. But nothing here about the harm from dinner drugs of they were also used as widely. Seems intentional. I still want drugs to be a health issue and not a police issue but this makes the data look weak.

    There are some interesting people working in psychiatry, of course they do become doctors first. Perhaps they shouldn't be so generalising, and ha ha ha prescriptive.
    I think he is depicted in the picture as a chemist, as in someone trained in chemistry AND who makes, or tests drugs.

    He seems a pleasant enough, even sensible man, but just because he is a scientist does not mean that he is politically neutral, or morally right. The same goes for whoever writes scientific studies in Neuroscience papers, or any other papers.
