      I love agadmator but often get frustrated with his spoiling the drama of the game. I try to find the games on-line so I can watch the moves without tony's commentary. I wish he would include a link where I can watch it without the reveal.

    Watching AlphaReza play reminds me of watching a certain strong engine... It's like he's accounted for all of the opponents plans and just pushes him into a disadvantageous endgame and collects his win! It's beautiful.. and brutal : )

I just mean for me, (a puny human), this game was reminiscent of some of alpha zero's victories over stockfish, in that it seemed (to me, a puny human) that one player basically set the pace of the entire game and almost seemed to take advantage of the opponents solid/principled play to guide the game to a victorious conclusion

Also, lots of Indian chess fans hate him because Alireza is from Iran. Now Iran has become a chess factory producing one big talent after another which arouses so much jealousy.       @Bahar Omraee Iran, like India, has been one of the original countries in which chess bloomed centuries ago, yes. Again, Iran, like India, has been deprived of the opportune environment in which such "entertainment" could continue because of oppressive governments, imperialism, violence, underdevelopment etc. Chess was invented and developed in Iran and India while those countries prospered, and it migrated to more imperialistic countries later in history. What's disrespectful about this? It's only pointing something out historically.
      My own country sucks at chess, science, politics, art, general ethics and almost every other aspect that marks human development. So? That doesn't mean I shouldn't have observations about other countries :D

    This game is a positional masterpiece... firouzja eliminated dark squared pieces(bishop and queen) then left his opponent with a bad light square bishop ... firouzja is ultimate player he can play positional and tactical at the same time... only fischer used to play like this... for example carlsen is positional god but compared to hikaru not that great in tactics while nakamura is a tactical beast he is bad in positional chess in scale of super grandmasters...

    wrong answer for pause the video: after you take the bishop, besides Rh7 the only winning move, there's exactly 1 drawing move Rxg3. i was right that the only good move (which draws of course) in response to that is Kf1 XD yay!!!!!!

    Alireza is gaining experience, and very close to reach mastery with the pieces, look at Rook and knight after Rd6 at 11:36, blocking the king's way back as kc5 will encounter with Nb7+ !! However still may get busted against higher calibers.

    On move 36, if Kxa4 happens you dont gain anything with immediate Nc5, but you play Rb6 with idea of Nc5 mate

    But to be fair, you can still see a difference in quality as Alireza's games have way more "find the one move to defeat Alireza" pauses as opposed to Magnus where it's pretty much flawless front to back

    I am rated 2000 ish, & yet I saw virtually all key moves before they were revealed. Thus, my rating must be increased immediately! Haven't played any competitive chess for a while; maybe I should.

    How do they decide who is playing which board in these team events?
    Do they have to be ordered by rating OR can the team decide? E.g. can France decide whether board 1 will be Alireza or MVL? And similarly, could the other team decide to put their lowest rated player against Alireze and place their highest rated players on boards 3 and 4 to win?

      @@philanthropecharts2925 I just mean that he's not actually French, and it doesn't mean much if somebody can suddenly decide to be French overnight. If Magnus and Nepo both decided that they are now "representing France" it wouldn't actually mean that the next world champion is French, it's just a technicality with nothing whatsoever to do with France as a country or the French people. I'm not trying to be argumentative, just saying Reza is Iranian and geopolitical quibbles don't change that.

    Alireza doesnt always plays the accurate moves, but somehow complicates the games. maybe thats why he struggles a bit against top Gms

      he is a more refined version of dubov, although dubov is still better than him in unpredictability and dubious chess moves.

      How does he struggle against top gms? That's simply bullshit. Look at his performance in the few super tournaments in the last 2 years, he has always gained 10-15 rating. At norway chess 2021 he beat karjakin, nepo and traded wins with rapport and finished second behind magnus, ahead of nepo, rapport and karjakin and tari.

Alireza has been performing very well against 2700+ opposition in all otb events lately. They just couldn't bother to do some research. They're too lazy I guess, or most probably biased.

      Exchanging bishop for knight is basically losing for black, as all the pawns will become weak and white will have connected passed pawns on the kingside after Rxf5. I think that’s what he meant.

      Carlsen said once after a game with Firouzja. It was a though game, it felt like i played a chess demon with sneaky traps. He lost the game after a brilliant move by the young chess wonderboy.
