Its such a divisive card design some think it’s gorgeous and some think it’s ugly, no in-between
I definitely like it. Your thoughts?
@@JohnLCharette I liked it too! I wish they made a 4090 with that design!
I liked, its different from the normal heatsink, i would 100% have one of these on my rig, its very clean, but i guess that for now ill stay with my xfx, that 4080 is too expensive😂
I think it looks a little in between. There you go.
My Asus Dual 4070 Super does have coil whine mainly when playing Starfield. I just ordered this card for 1,080 USD. Very excited to get it installed.
Great looking card. Fan layout reminds me of Founder's Edition cards. Refreshing to see something different. Vertical mounting makes sense with this one.
Yeah, I think MSI did a great job with the design. I hadn't thought of vertically mounting it. I should get myself a vertical mount for my Corsair 5000D test bench system and show off both ways for people. Thanks for the idea!
Looks great!!!
Do the 4000 cards have a different or better encoder chip then 3000 cards ?
Yeah, I can't say I know much about it, as I don't stream.. but from what I hear, they've improved the AV1 encoding with the 4000 series.
I'm on the brink of ordering this card today but the temps concern me.
I personally wouldn't be too concerned. Yes, I've seen cooler cards, but know that my temps were with fan speeds on Auto, which landed at 30%. These cards won't start to throttle performance until 88C, and that's when the fan will kick in to keep it cooler. What case are you using?
I could of bought the
Expert for 40$ more but the Pro art was a better case fit unfortunately. I am not disappointed in the Pro-Art 4080 super but i did want to buy the Expert. I mean 1095 for a pro art 4080 super it's a really nice card John. had since day of launch! Man did i haggle Micro Center lol! FYI using MSI Afterburner +225 Core Clock +1100mhz Memory clock has been solid gaming so that might be a good baseline for you to start at. Never crashed yet but i so have a lower tier OC core clock at +150 for Warzone! Use at your own risk lol!
Ohhh, thanks for the info regarding your ProArt OC settings. I'll definitely try those out when I unbox and start testing mine. I like the MSI Expert, but personally, prefer the ProArt design better. Shhh, don't tell MSI ;)
regarding the dual bios, I would rely on what the manufacturer website says over any third party site, so I would say no dual bios.
That's the confusing part.. both are the manufacturer (MSIs) websites. One is their product page and the other is their official store. But yes, I agree. Given the fact that I couldn't find it.. I'd agree and say it doesn't have one.
@@JohnLCharette That's a bit of a head scratcher. Seems like whoever set the store up was looking at more than one thing at a time, maybe threw that in cause they finished another page on a card that had it and it was fresh on their mind.
You love it or you hate it I love it
my favourite looking one is the Asus Pro - art and this one but in the UK the Pro Art is one of the cheapest ones
Yes, I agree. I like the ProArt design more than this one.. but kudos to MSI for coming up with something comparable.
idk bro, 75C is not cool as cucumber, and while drawing only about 300W, i would expect better temps for how much it costs.
i know you can set a custom fan curve, but still...
Yeah, it's a good point. I just compared it to the 4080s that I reviewed and most of them stayed in the 60s. Hmm.. to me, 75C still isn't bad considering it doesn't thermal throttle until 88C.. but still, it could have been cooler. Consider, those tests were done at 30% fan speed.
It might just be the luck of the draw cause I just picked mine up the other day and my core temps depending on game are between 60-70 and hitting 75 when using Path Tracing in Cyberpunk. Hotspot is around 70-80 depending on my use and vram stops at 70c. Case is a Corsair 7000x and clock speeds are 2760mhz.
Thanks for sharing! Yeah, cards vary so much card to card. I imagine given the vapor chamber that it's design very well for thermals.
Anyone have this card and the exhaust fan on top doesn't spin?
Sounds like a warranty issue. I'd contact MSI support.
@@JohnLCharette luckily I got it off amazon so I can return it
One last thing to note.. the fans don't spin unless they are under load. Make sure you jump into a game and play for a bit, then the fans should turn on. If that top fan still doesn't, then return it.
@@JohnLCharette yah I ran the heaven bench mark I was hitting 80 degrees still nothing. Gorgeous card though thanks for replying
How big is it compared to the rx 550
Bro ur going from a 550 to a 4080, thats wild
@@pdg_strix2447 yep
You'd have to check the measurement specs on MSIs website vs yours. I'm not sure which make/model RX550 you have.. but I'm guessing this card will be bigger. Let us know what you find out.

Uses a Lazy Susan lol
Bothered about being against my Dell 8950 1000w PSU.
Haha, yeah. My wife chirps at me every time I steal it from the dining room table. One day, I'll buy a fancy motorized 360-degree stand to show off parts.
that looka horrible
I've heard people either love it or hate it.. I'm guessing you're the latter.
