    I have had 3 Charbroils in the past. This one is replacing one I have had for 8 years th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . What caught my eye was the fact that the picture shows a totally Stainless Steel unit. When I say totally I mean even the outside lower part of the Firebox is completely stainless. Well guess what! Not the case when you get the unit! The lower part of the Firebox is the standard black. Everything else is stainless but very thin. Also although it’s a 4 burner somehow Charbroil has placed them so close in the Firebox that the unit is small. More like a 3 burner. It’s not all negative though. Once assembled it is very nice looking. Also I noticed that having the burners closer together it heats up quicker and cooks with less gas since you can turn it down while cooking. One thing I wanted to mention. Some other reviewers state that the temperature does not get passed 200-250. This is because they are not following starting procedures. When igniting, you need to make sure all the knobs are turned off before turning on the tank regulator! If not, you will set off the regulator protection valve and it will not allow the proper amount of gas to enter the unit. Thus it will not reach proper temperature. All in all. 9 out of 10 in my book.

    When you remove your meat from the grill, leave the temperature probe inside while it RESTS, and it will tell you exactly what temperature your meat is at the end of the resting period. Works great!! Loved your video.

    What about cleaning the inside top ?? Suggestions.

  • @tsho08

    This device is the greatest thing I've ever owned. The grill, the air frying, everything is great. The best thing is you know it's always going to be to temperature. Even cooking something mostly frozen is no problem.
    One thing you missed about the cleaning, which is the worst, is how to clean inside the top. I've never been able to properly clean to a nice looking state, even when I first had it.

      There is a newer model that looks pretty similar but has a heating element under the grill like regular indoor grill as well has circulated hot air from above. Too expensive right now and this model can pick up half price right now and seriously considering it.
      I was wondering have you tried cooking burgers or other meats at same time as fries ?? Picture in amazon ad shows this but isn't grilling and air frying 2 separate functions on this machine ? I'm new to air frying, never owned even a traditional drawer basket air fryer, looking to hop in the hype! Lol

    I grill my steak or any meat then take the grill part out, put seasoned potatoes in the drippings from the meat and cook them in the pan under the grill . It browns then so nice. I do par boil my potatoes. In chunks for faster cooking and browning.

    Good review. I’m thinking of replacing my toaster oven and air fryer with this.
    Edit: I bought the smaller version and I really like it. I’ve cooked ribeye, hamburgers, thick pork loin chops, chicken wings, and bacon with it. I suggest setting the temperature a little lower when using the thermometer. Everything but the wings was slightly more done than I expected. And watch bacon closely after turning it…..mine quickly crossed the threshold from done to crispy, which I don’t like.

    • @apracticalreview
      @apracticalreview  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed, I usually set my thermometer setting to 3 or 4 with steak, can't imaging what it would look like at the max setting! Thanks for the comment!

    Absolutely agree with your review. Food is prepared perfectly and no cleanup. I seldom use the thermometer but still have perfectly cooked food. I remove both the grill plate and inner liner together. Spray with dish detergent and let the grill liner soak inside the liner. Haven’t had to really use the brush. Place both in the dishwasher along with the screen from the grill and … everything comes out sparkling clean. No follow up cleaning necessary… I’m very particular about cleaning… nothing left to clean!
    My only con: have to get used to the sound of the preheating..wish it was less of a annoyance but totally worth the annoyance given the fantastic, easy outcomes.
    I purchased on Amazon… no problems at all.

    • @apracticalreview
      @apracticalreview  ปีที่แล้ว

      Kac, I totally agree! Very easy to clean. The preheating does get a bit loud but I think it's absolutely worth it for perfectly prepared meat!

    Definitely great. I got the grill/griddle version, which is similar, but really totally different, cooks top and bottom, and cooks with the lid up. But, more expensive,. This one is great also, very high quality.

    I put the grill/pan/crisper pan in the dishwasher. They almost always come clean on the first wash! If there is a lot of cooked on "stuff" a bit of a soak/scrub might be warranted though.

    I just bought one yesterday. Super sale price $179.00 further discounted with coupon at Kohl’s…. came out to just under $134.00. However, first meal I tried was 2 grilled burgers. Smoke alarm in my townhouse began to blare when I lifted the lid. Enormously disappointed since I purchased mainly for grilling because of “lack of smoke” feature. Maybe mine has a defect?! Totally bummed.

    • @gins8781
      @gins8781 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My smoke alarm went off once when I lifted the lid after overcooking bacon a little bit. But only the one time.

      Did u use oil on the burger?

    • @apracticalreview
      @apracticalreview  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm, could be a defective unit but honestly, I've grilled burgers as well and the alarm did go off. I think burgers in general are tough for indoor because they overwhelm any grill with smoke (because of all the fat dripping off). I turn on the fan and open the windows when I cook burgers and that seems to work. Steak and chicken are fine though! Good luck!

    too bad the temp probe can be 20 degrees off as now its known its a defect of considerable size...many testers are checking the food tempt with a hand held temp tester to verify the temp.

    what I'm looking for is an energy saving electric air fryer, for all air fryer user I'm sure you all know the ticks on cooking steak. i stumbled on my old new wave air fryer the other day its was hand over to me by a friend which i have not use yet, it was a 6 years old 6quarts air fryer, i decided to use it on my 1 1/2 inch steak, in 10 minutes each side i get a medium cook steak.

    "MP3 jack" 😂 Grill marks are stupid. Flavor is enhanced by the Maillard reaction on those hash marks, but in between them there's virtually none of that enhancement happening. Missed opportunity for flavor. Frying in a flat, smooth cast iron skillet is one of the best methods.

    • @ThedudeAbides-ss9ig
      @ThedudeAbides-ss9ig ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting point..I noticed my steaks come out fantastic from a skillet..

    • @gins8781
      @gins8781 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I prefer a skillet for steaks too. But I can’t stand the odor of seared meat lingering in my home for days. I have a 9-1/2” round cast iron serving tray that fits perfectly inside the catch basin. I’m going to try it next time I cook steak.
