Is anyone able to suggest a plug for the door lights to stay on and off with the car instead of being on with headlights? I don't have a voltmeter to test the plugs.
Exactly I’ve been searching for days for someone on here to do ambient lighting and car decor on the g70 I just got my 2023 last month wanted to do something that wouldn’t look cheesy , tacky or ghetto 😂 you did a Great job I wish I was near you to get mine done this looks factory and that’s the look I want 😊cuddos to you 👏🏽
Thanks for the vid bro. I used your links and bought the same lights as you for my G70. Then I followed your tips step by step. Transformed the interior look! Thanks again for the guide 👍🏻
I have a 22 G70 3.3t, so helpful man thanks a ton. I found it easiest to feed the large dash light strip to the main controller by completely taking off the plastic shield/trim under the steering wheel. 3 screws and some clips, made it way easier to grab the connector after dropping it into the hole. I installed the floor lights that came in the kit too so is was easier to manage the excess cable as well, just zip tied everything into loops and ran the clips through the loops of excess. Thanks again bro👍
Nice no problem! So did you wire all 4 footwell lights to the main controller? How did you run the wires from the back? I was afraid it wouldn't be clean
Yeah I used the black extension to plug into the main controller. I have mine next to the fuse box like you. I hid the cables and 4:1 splitter in the center console plastic right along the lower edge where it meets the carpet. You can lift up the plastic and tuck the power, splitter, and all the cables to make it invisible. I think the intent was to run the longer 2 cables to the rear, but if you tuck the splitter near the driver seatbelt in the plastic, you can make the run to the passenger side footwell with the longer cable. I just used some foam mounting tape to hold the lights in place. The rear lights aren’t as clean though, I had to leave some exposed slack so that I can adjust the seats without ripping the lights off the bottom of the seat. To be honest the rear ones prolly aren’t worth the trouble, I have black carpet so you can hardly see the light. Plus someone might kick it by accident, and you gotta mount it to fabric so it’s not stuck on there very strong. Might see if there’s a better place for them
Another question for you man, do you get an annoying whining noise from the speakers when the door LED’s are on? I had to back pin the speaker positive in the door harnesses every door but the driver side, so it’s getting a lot of feedback I think… I’m not very savvy on audio wiring so I was wondering if you had this issue too and if there’s a better ground wire or positive to wire the controller into so I don’t get the whining/buzzing?
I have a pre-facelift g70, and had A LOT of trouble getting the large dash piece back on, what worked for me was trying to loosely get the right side in then fully connecting the middle tab by the tuning knob, that was the only way I could get that part seated correctly.
How has the reliability been? Was reading reviews and several were saying that they stopped working after a while. Also, major thanks for making this video. Like others have said, I've been wanting to do this badly but had no idea where to begin. You're the man.
Thank you no problem. Um I haven’t had a single issue. They come on with the car and go off with the car. But the door lights are wired to only come on at night with the parking lights and I also don’t drive every day.
@@CampbellsCreationshey man, are you not afraid of putting a 15 amp fuse tap into your 10amp slot on the fuse box? You also have 2 10amp fuses in the fuse tap, that would be 20 amps right? I have a g70 and I’m afraid I’m gonna fry/melt the fuse box.
@@CampbellsCreationsalso I’m unsure of the plug in method in each door, I hear g70s have sensitive electrical systems. I’m not sure if putting 2 wires into the positive on the door is most effective. So I’m wondering if there’s a secondary method here for both the dash and the doors.
@tannerunger3338 it is a "10 Amp tap" going in a 10 Amp spot. But the tap is just wires. Whatever fuse amperage you use is what amperage the tap is. And no fuses don't add up. They are just bridges for electricity flow. So anything over 10 amps will blow both fuses not add up. No it wouldn't melt or fry anything. That's the point of fuses. Just don't go over what it says. So yes a 20amp fuse in a 10 Amp slot could allow more current through than intended and then melt or fry something.
It is not 2 positives. It is one negative and one positive. The only other way is to plug straight to the battery. But that's a lot of wires. But remember everything is running from one battery in a car. So plugging it to a wire vs the battery is the same 12v source. These LED lights draw less power than anything probably in the car other than the LED lights that come in the car
Hey man, just got everything installed ! Was wondering how I could fix a very very slight buzzing coming from the front right door speaker due to a bad ground on the fuse for the strip, any tips are solutions I could buy, it gets annoying over time and it changes sound depending on the color. Thanks!
That happened when I did the wrong red wire. One of them is going to your speaker and will buzz when the lights draw power. That or the wires are touching another wire in the door harness once you pushed it in. Make sure you have the correct wire tapped and make sure it’s secured in one spot
Used this as a walkthrough and installed my own! Thanks man! But for some reason one door(rear left) light will show some colors(purple, green, white) but won’t show others (blue, red, etc) why would that be? Have you had this happen?
Great thanks for viewing. I have heard that on a different door and different colors from one other person. I think it is the equipment. Try switching the sub controller box from another door and see if it follows or of you have an extra strip plug it in. May have to contact Amazon for another.

And you have the main controller up front to the fuse box and sub controller for the doors right? Did you try to unplug the lights that dont work and see if your door buttons alone still work?
hey campbell, first off thanks a lot for the tutorial. I did this on my 3.3t sports prestige last night. looks mighty fine. I am having an issue with the passenger LED - it is creating a high "squeaking" noise. this only happens on certain colors, but happens on all colors if i change the brightness at all. from my limited research it might be the dimmer malfunctioning. im going to switch out the controller tonight, but just wondering if you have any other ideas. thanks again
No problem, of course. Did you use the same spots I plugged into? I had that issue when I tried other wires that were tied to the speakers. If not that then yes I would start with switching the controller. Amazon also sells the controllers and light strips separately.
They will go off. They got off almost immediately when you lock it but if leave it unlocked the vehicle has a timer before it completely powers down then they will turn off. I thought the same thing because I leave mine unlocked in the garage but I just left it and checked like an hour later and they were off. No battery issue. It's probably less than an hour but that's just when I checked.
Hey man! Thanks for the install vid. Quick question: I installed the the dashboard lights the same way you did. But my dash lights stay on even in day time. Mine is a 2022 prestige. Any suggestions?
Mine do too. Just the dash. I have them on low brightness though so I don’t notice them. It doesn’t hurt anything. But if you want a different fuse that goes off with your lights it’ll be a door lamp or interior lamp fuse. I can look tomorrow and see if I can suggest something.
I did exactly how you said in the video and only my dash lights will turn on not the door lights. Is there anything that i could’ve done wrong for that to be happening
@@CampbellsCreations yeah i did both of the doors on the left side and they worked and then i took off the right doors and plugged them in and then all the door lights stopped working. If one of the wires unplugged somehow would that cause all of them to not work?

Hey man, Im installing my ambients right now, and im having major issues with the rear. The gap by the door handle area is being a pain in my ass. Any tips? i got the entire front done so far.
Maybe use multiple trim tools. Or bigger ones. Basically create a gap bigger than the light strips. Also laying the door panel on a table and have someone lean on one side while you lean on the other side to open it up. If you have the door panel off. Hell maybe spray interior shine or something oily on the gap to get it slick
Currently in the process of doing this. For the back door LED strip I cannot get it to go in for the life of me. I’ve tried prying it with the tools but it just won’t go in, do you have any suggestions?
You're going to have to "the bend the door panel open." Lay the panel over a bucket or something and have a partner press down on the top and middle to open the split where the light is supposed to go. Or if alone you can press down with your knee on it and one hand and use the other hand to walk it in. I just use the tools to start it and push down on the door over a bucket or table and use my thumb to walk the rest in. Make sense or not really?
@@CampbellsCreationsYeah makes sense thank you, also i don’t know if I wired it wrong or what but when i walk up to the car and the mirrors unfold, just the dash lights turn on and the rest of the lights don’t come up until i start the car, is that normal?
@@matthewcastellon2846 Yea that is correct. That's how mines are. So the dash lights are wired to the dash fuse, so they come on anytime the actual dash lights up. The doors are wired to the illumination wire that lights the door switches. So those come on any time your parking lights are on automatically. I'm sure there are other wires but that's how I wired mine.
@@CampbellsCreationsYeah I tried doing the speaker fuse when I was playing around with it and it works so when you walk up to your car all the lights turn on together, but then as i drove i noticed that the speakers would make this weird noise bc the lights were drawing power from them

@@CampbellsCreationsYeah I tried doing the speaker fuse when I was playing around with it and it works so when you walk up to your car all the lights turn on together, but then as i drove i noticed that the speakers would make this weird noise bc the lights were drawing power from them
@@matthewcastellon2846 Yep tried that too. I forgot I did. But same thing happened as you
Are you near Montgomery, Al. I need you to do mine lol!
Ha I'm in atl ga
@CampbellsCreations bro I'm dead serious ,thats only a 2 and a half hour drive. Lol! If not is there shops you can recommend, I love how you did that on your car.
Na I don’t know any shops. The ones I called were only willing to do floor lights and under glow. I mean if you are willing to drive I can get the kit, fuse taps and wiring included. Shoot me an email campbellscreativity@gmail.com
Looks sick man any chance u could do a short video of what it looks like in daylight off? Just curious to see if it blends with the car well or stands out before i order and do it. Also why didnt u use the footwell lights i feel like thar would add nice light for when u drop the blunt 😂
Yea no problem I'll do one when I get home. It blends well. lmao yea 1 I didn't really want footwell lights on all the time. If they would only come on when I open the door like the factory ones then cool, I wanted this to look like it came with it. And 2 all four footwell likes came down to one connector so I would have to connect it to one box then run the wires every where and I didn't want that.

@CampbellsCreations oh hell ya man ur right that does look super clean and u cannot tell its there let alone not factory
Yes sir. Sorry for the delay
What part of ga you in? I have a g70 and want this. Do the lights automatically turn on when you turn on the car or is everything manual with the app?
Kennesaw. Nope all auto. I haven't touched the app or button since I installed them
Yess. You’re very close I’m near camp creek. How can I get your contact number
Email me. Campbellscreativity@gmail.com
I emailed you last week
Gotcha. My bad been away
I bought the same kit as you did. Really appreciate the vid man! Question about the fuse tap, did you use 2 10 amps? Or a 5amp? Also any issues with the lights? Mine sometimes change light modes by itself, ik its user error lol
My bad for the late reply. I used 2 10 amps. No issues so far. Nope it’s been on red since I installed them. Is it doing it on start up? Is it changing to the same color every time it changes?
@@CampbellsCreations it's doing it randomly and the button connected to it doesn't really respond the way it's supposed to be so unsure of where the problem is
How about with the app? Did you wire it in the same fuse as me? Shoot send it back man. Sounds like it could be the device
@@CampbellsCreations thankfully the app works. I hooked it up, just the same way as you did and it was working properly for a while. I really do think it's the box itself but thanks man
For sure
Hey bro, Looks awesome!!! I'm in GA as well, how much would you charge to install this? I'd buy the kit, just want to know install price if you'd be down!
Thank man. I would say $85 for the dash and $250 for dash, wiring, door trim and pocket lights if you buy everything. But do you have a g70?
@@CampbellsCreationshell I'll pay you double to do my g70 😂 I'm in GA too. What's the best way to contact you?
Sorry didn't see this. You got me now though

@@LegendsPizzaCo Dam yeaaa. Well if you give it go and have any questions let me know
Seems like a great way to void your electrical warranty lol..
How does installing to a 12v source void your warranty?
