my dad bought a tt racer in 1966, then had mukini carbs put on it and had it balanced and blueprinted, he sold it , later he contacted the buyer who never rode the bike and my dad now has the bike again even had the factory tires , still holding air, (replaced those) , its fast for its dated time, still blows by these HD, , ,its faster than my suzuki vs 800 cruiser, , hard to keep the front down lol
That is the hot setup with that Kerker...these never looked or sounded right with those stock jardine 4-2 pipes. I have one just like that with a Russ Collins setup. I can't believe you sold that, the only way I would sell mine is if I found a like new example and that prolly wont happen. I own and ride a brand new 2015 Harley Electra Glide Police and this LTD is STILL more motorcycle than that! This IMO was the ultimate Kawasaki as well as THE bike of all time...they didn;t GET any better...Ride safe and congrats to the new owner on this fabulous piece of history!!

Ben Moore I have a beautiful 79 LTD 1000 looks exactly like that Reges it registered and insured for the last since 1979 put on non-op this year I also have a 79 Mark III shaft or Mark to his second one off the assembly line perfect shape both of them text me back if you're interested

I have a KZ 1000 LTD exactly like that but better I also have 79 shaft 1000 the second bike off the assembly line my 79 LTD 1000 belong to the vice president of the Kawasaki club of Southern California as well as the 79 shaft bike they are more than perfect I have kept them registered and insured

Beautiful clean bike!! At the time it was the fastest bike on the road. The vintage bikes just give off a certain vibe that will never go away

Except for the four into one header it looks stock, one of the nicest looking crypto choppers ever produced.

If you want it to run well, NGK B8ES spark plugs and carbs, carbs, carbs. 8 out of 10 running problems with these bikes is carburetor related
