Taskmaster is not a Spider-Man villain and is more of an international mercenary, it doesn't make sense for Kraven to have killed him even if he appeared on his list. It's more likely that he wasn't even in the country. If anything it's more likely that he will be in the Wolverine game than being dead.
Kraven wasn’t just going after Spider-Man villains. He was trying to find people who he thought could take him down. It wasn’t exclusively only Spider-Man villains was going after

Easy explanation, he never got to taskmaster. Not everyone on the list he went after example prowler and wraith. Doesn’t mean he never would but they might have just been further down the list and he died before reaching them. His goal wasn’t to take them all out his goal was to find the one strong enough to kill him and he did.
I don’t think it would be easy to kill Taskmaster since he can copy and mimic every single fighting move just by watching and studying individuals who are skilled in hand to hand combat. Not only that, he can mimic movements of others too, Kraven fighting Taskmaster would be nice to see but having the character killed by Kraven….. yea- no… I don’t really see it like that

I like to think that Roxxon hired Taskmaster to recruit Spider-Man to the corporation. It makes sense if you think about it, Roxxon has worked with criminals like Prowler and hired Rhino as an elite security unit in Spider-Man: Miles Morales and they were expanding into New York at the time as well. Idk maybe Roxxon figured out Spider-Man's identity going by the line that Taskmaster says "Guess some people choose to be poor" and was looking to recruit Peter to the NuForm project

No, yeah, I think SHIELD is the one who hired Taskmaster to spy on Spider-Man. If it was Norman Osborn, he would've asked Spider-Man in a heartbeat to come to his lab and do some testing on his blood for a cure for Harry. In fact, the two did interact a few times in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (phone calls and close interactions during the time when Venom went loose). Norman is a desperate person when it comes to saving his son's life but it doesn't seem like he sees Spider-Man as the real answer to his son's predicament. We're also not sure if the spider that bit Peter is related to Oscorp (except for the spider that bit Miles) but the point is, if Spider-Man and Norman met each other in person, Norman would've already begged to Spider-Man for help. AND here's one thing! In the game (MSM2), as Miles, you can wear the Agent of SHIELD suit, which would imply that SHIELD is indeed canon in this universe. Which brings another question... Does this mean Miles was or is currently hired to spy on Peter? But that is another deeper rabbit hole.
The suits don't got nothing to do with canon because Spider-Man can wear a spider punk suit even though spider punk is Hobie brown, someone who's black. I'm pretty sure they were just looking for another suit for Miles.

I'm going with the theory that they're teasing him for the next game. Like Scarecrow in the Arkham trilogy. While we don't get much of a tangible clue--like we do in Arkham City with Scarecrow's mask on top of straw--he is teased slightly because his appearance on Kraven's hitlist. I mean, they included Wraith in Spider-Man 2 and she was introduced in DLC! So, unless they are fools and set up a potentially major side-quest story only to drop it, I think Taskmaster is coming back in a big way! Those two Hush sidequests in Arkham 2 & 3 were gold and connected beautifully!
Just cuz he fought the avengers doesn't mean they wouldn't hire him, in fact it probably makes it MORE likely that they would hire him after that encounter. He doesn't care who he's working for as long as they pay well, and I'm sure Tony Stark has more than enough to cover Taskmaster's asking price

This isn’t even a theory but just saying I think would be cool, kind of like what you suggested with the idea of taskmaster appearing in multiple insomniac superhero games to confirm they’re all set in the same universe, what if it turns out the organization that hired taskmaster ends up being a threat that forces multiple superheroes to come together to stop them? Like let’s say it turns out the group behind us is hydra and they create an avengers game where you play as multiple heroes new and old. I think that would be pretty cool
I think Taskmaster should appear in Wolverine and basically do the same thing with Logan, just obviously a bit different from the Spider-Man games. He could even give Logan the same kind of offer about an organization, and Logan could reject it, with Taskmaster making a reference to Spider-Man by saying how all these guys don't even want money.
Just noted something. In 2:44, on Downtown Queens (at the top of the map), you can see that there's a target with the picture of Doctor Octopus, then it glitches/switches to Electro and then switches to Wilson Fisk, who isn't in the game. Could be a glitch, but I don't know. Electro is dead and Ock is planned for a possible 3rd game, but what about Fisk?
A fight between Taskmaster and Kraven would be so damn cool. If anyone could put up a fight against this version of Kravinoff - it's someone, who can copy his moves.
I think Silver Sable makes the most sens, they can litteraly kill people if they must to, and breaking a lot of rules and Norman gives them a lot of money. Also between Kraven and Taskmaster fight, Taskmaster can copy every move in a few seconds so he propably be winning with Kraven in fight.
Considering the beetle is the first dlc, id wager task master highered him to get any remaining symbiote samples left in the city for his own uses. An yes i know they believe they got it all already in game. They didnt.
I’m also thinks Taskmaster will be in the DLC. And I’m willing to bet that the organization that hired him is A.I.M. We already know they exist because of their logo appeared on boxes in Otto’s lab.
Another possibility is that Taskmaster could’ve been hired to find another hero to join there forces. It would make the most logical sense to send out someone who can stand there own in battle for a long time and has a history of spying on hero’s to just be constantly be sent out to find other hero’s such as wolverine.
What I find interesting is when Kraven is introduced, we can see on the tablet that Taskmaster was, or at least was close too, the location of the final Flame mission where Cletus steals the Carnage Symbiote from the train. Edit: In the first game, the mercenaries you fight in the Taskmaster challenges have red batons and blue sniper sights (I think that's what they're called). The only other group in the game to have these are the Silver Sable mercenaries who were working for Osborn. Also, when Taskmaster ambushes you to trigger a boss fight, he fires glowing red ropes that wrap around Spider-Man which is another weapon only the Sable Group uses.
Random little detail - another character on Kraven's list that doesn't show up in the game is Kingpin - his past actions are mentioned occasionally but nothing about where he is now

The most likely answer is that he was just not in the country he is in international mercenary he’s probably busy, fighting the avengers or something because last game he did say that he has picked fights with the avengers.
It’s the only reasonable assumption that I could think of or maybe they just cut him out of the game because. They couldn’t fit him into the game they originally had rhino dead in Spider-Man 2, but they scrapped that could be the same for taskmaster.🤷🏾♂️

This game was a let down in a lot of areas cause insomniac misused the concept. They showed ALLLL these characters that could potentially impact the story...yet half of them die OFFscreen, the one's on screen are side mission that don't tie into the main plot at all(Wraith) or reformed OFFscreen like Tombstone and 2 of them that being Kingpin and Taskmaster don't even SHOW UP. Gonna use that same edcuse for Kingpin?...who's still in jail so he cant actually leave...Thi is big guantlet they hinted at with Kraven Hunting all these characters was just false advertising in the end ad 80 to 90% of them are misused. This entire Kraven hunting Metas storyline was handled better in the comics
I don’t know what to tell you they can’t make a good story with all of those characters so many plot lines, that would basically be amount of nothing in the very first game. The screen time for most of the villains were like one scene and a Boss-fight I do agree that they shouldn’t of added, all the villains if they’re not going to show all of them but this was all they can do. If they tried to take on that task then 90% of the plot lines would go unfinished so they had to make the choice, to sacrifice some of these characters to make the rest better. This is the same reason why I feel like they shouldn’t add Cindy Moon into the mix. How are they possibly going to fit potentially three spider people into the mix with Carnage and Green Goblin and Doc Ock.
When TaskMaster got into the “rich company” thing I have an huge impression that TaskMaster is an Roxxon worker. Roxxon is was a huge Miles and they literally have some huge tech so does Taskmaster and Rhino just told to the security to get Tinkerer and Miles cause they’re both Roxxon enemies
I think taskmaster was definitely working for kraven, that's what could have led kraven to go after Spider-Man. The henchman could have been the one to task him to test characters in the game to see if they were a,"worthy," hunt.
I think task master was simply cutted due to lack of time, spider man cam out very quickly after first teaser so it would be wise to assume they cutted some of mission, my guess is that they planned mission where you play as kraven to show his abilities but they cutted the mission that would lead to this because it would be some kind of retrospection or a dream of peter
Doubt it. The dude can mimick the fighting abilities of any hero or villain. Plus when it comes to traps he’s pretty good at setting them up. Course I’m basing that off all the challenges he has set up for Spider-Man.

We’ll cap is from Brooklyn, what if Hydra hired Taskmaster to look for people who possibly could help make a super soldier serum or something idk, and one of those people was spider man cus of his blood, and that explains why he wasn’t in this game cus he will be in the cap game, and if Taskmaster is in Brooklyn with cap Kraven wouldn’t go close cus he knows he couldn’t stand a chance agains Cap. Just a theory of mine that would tie most of this together. I think that the hand has something to do with it. They are a rich organization that’s tied with Spider-Man, and daredevil. Also the hands hideout is seen in the Spider-Man 2 game so that’s a possibility

Well in Spiderman 2, Chameleon said "I will do what Kraven couldn't do" in the side mission, referring to Spiderman. Kraven wanted to kill spiderman but he was not able to so Chameleon decided to take that mantle, probably because they are both brothers and rivals. Taskmaster is said that he could copy any abilities of his opponents, including spiderman, so it makes sense for Chameleon to hire Taskmaster, perhaps for gaining intel. The thing about Kraven is that he wants to do the killing so I wonder if Chameleon wants to do the same, gain intel and finally kill Spiderman like his brother couldn't do.

Taskmaster is probably too overpowered for Kraven, he’s fought people like Black Widow in the comics, so I think he’ll probably appear in a dlc or the Wolverine game

This isn’t even a theory but just saying I think would be cool, kind of like what you suggested with the idea of taskmaster appearing in multiple insomniac superhero games to confirm they’re all set in the same universe, what if it turns out the organization that hired taskmaster ends up being a threat that forces multiple superheroes to come together to stop them?

I think Taskmaster should appear in Wolverine and basically do the same thing with Logan, just obviously a bit different from the Spider-Man games. He could even give Logan the same kind of offer about an organization, and Logan could reject it, with Taskmaster making a reference to Spider-Man by saying how all these guys don't even want money.

In 2:44, on Downtown Queens (at the top of the map), you can see that there's a target with the picture of Doctor Octopus, then it glitches/switches to Electro and then switches to Wilson Fisk, who isn't in the game. Could be a glitch, but I don't know. Electro is dead and Ock is planned for a possible 3rd game, but what about Fisk?

I think Silver Sable makes the most sens, they can litteraly kill people if they must to, and breaking a lot of rules and Norman gives them a lot of money. Also between Kraven and Taskmaster fight, Taskmaster can copy every move in a few seconds so he propably be winning with Kraven in fight.
Considering the beetle is the first dlc, id wager task master highered him to get any remaining symbiote samples left in the city for his own uses.

I’m also thinks Taskmaster will be in the DLC. And I’m willing to bet that the organization that hired him is A.I.M. We already know they exist because of their logo appeared on boxes in Otto’s lab.
Another possibility is that Taskmaster could’ve been hired to find another hero to join there forces. It would make the most logical sense to send out someone who can stand there own in battle for a long time and has a history of spying on hero’s to just be constantly be sent out to find other hero’s such as wolverine.
What I find interesting is when Kraven is introduced, we can see on the tablet that Taskmaster was, or at least was close too, the location of the final Flame mission where Cletus steals the Carnage Symbiote from the train.
Edit: In the first game, the mercenaries you fight in the Taskmaster challenges have red batons and blue sniper sights (I think that's what they're called). The only other group in the game to have these are the Silver Sable mercenaries who were working for Osborn. Also, when Taskmaster ambushes you to trigger a boss fight, he fires glowing red ropes that wrap around Spider-Man which is another weapon only the Sable Group uses.
Obviously the Avengers/Shied hired him. In the comics he has worked in a neutral capacity.
I think we may see him again in wolverine, seeing if Logan is also worthy to work for whoever is paying TM.
Random little detail - another character on Kraven's list that doesn't show up in the game is Kingpin - his past actions are mentioned occasionally but nothing about where he is now

They showed ALLLL these characters that could potentially impact the story...yet half of them die OFFscreen, the one's on screen are side mission that don't tie into the main plot at all(Wraith) or reformed OFFscreen like Tombstone and 2 of them that being Kingpin and Taskmaster don't even SHOW UP. Gonna use that same edcuse for Kingpin?...who's still in jail so he cant actually leave...Thi is big guantlet they hinted at with Kraven Hunting all these characters was just false advertising in the end ad 80 to 90% of them are misused. This entire Kraven hunting Metas storyline was handled better in the comics
I don’t know what to tell you they can’t make a good story with all of those characters so many plot lines, that would basically be amount of nothing in the very first game. The screen time for most of the villains were like one scene and a Boss-fight I do agree that they shouldn’t of added, all the villains if they’re not going to show all of them but this was all they can do. If they tried to take on that task then 90% of the plot lines would go unfinished so they had to make the choice, to sacrifice some of these characters to make the rest better. This is the same reason why I feel like they shouldn’t add Cindy Moon into the mix. How are they possibly going to fit potentially three spider people into the mix with Carnage and Green Goblin and Doc Ock.

Doubt it. The dude can mimick the fighting abilities of any hero or villain. Plus when it comes to traps he’s pretty good at setting them up. Course I’m basing that off all the challenges he has set up for Spider-Man.

Just a theory of mine that would tie most of this together. I think that the hand has something to do with it. They are a rich organization that’s tied with Spider-Man, and daredevil. Also the hands hideout is seen in the Spider-Man 2 game so that’s a possibility

We had a glitch the game to find out anything about him they weren’t even going to tell us so you could be right maybe a fight did occur between him and kravin and he won or he did just leave New York before kravin could get to him

With saying that Taskmaster fought the Avengers really means Nothing especially when Kraven is actually alot more stronger then Captain America himself, Kraven Thrives on a Good Battle and a Hunt so i think Kraven could do as much damage to the Avengers if not more as Task Master
I really feel like Kraven himself hyered taskmaster to gather intell on spiderman and give to kraven to see if spiderman was worth kravens time. And then I feel like somthiing went wrong in the 6 month gap so kraven wanted to hunt taskmaster. Evidence: The orginization taskmaster was talking about would be the hunters and kraven. Noted that they are very wealthy and they could pay 6 figures. The hunters were noted that they were very wealthy because of there tech.
That kinda takes even more away from Kraven the "hunter" and his supposed "hunters" if they need to hire outside help to track people...which is one of the very basics of hunting😭

It shows how he barely shows interest in spidermen before Peter gets black suit and he was only always interested in the black suit

I’m glad they did what they did and they are trying to slowly end peters story to start miles and later Cindy so we can have some sorta progression we never seen before like in the comics. If they retcon any death or change any ideas I would sorely just buy the next game and not care bout the story cuz it’ll just be like the comics and I’m done with those. I wanna see a actual progressing story. I will say tho that they can actually retcon some of these cuz most off screen except like scorpion or vulture

I'd say Chameleon hired Taskmaster but I dont know why. It just popped up in my head and I was like "Maybe Chameleon hired him".
Well in Spiderman 2, Chameleon said "I will do what Kraven couldn't do" in the side mission, referring to Spiderman. Kraven wanted to kill spiderman but he was not able to so Chameleon decided to take that mantle, probably because they are both brothers and rivals. Taskmaster is said that he could copy any abilities of his opponents, including spiderman, so it makes sense for Chameleon to hire Taskmaster, perhaps for gaining intel. The thing about Kraven is that he wants to do the killing so I wonder if Chameleon wants to do the same, gain intel and finally kill Spiderman like his brother couldn't do.
