- This video shows the different incarnation of Tony Masters also known as Taskmaster in TV shows and Films. Taskmaster is a mercenary that possesses a photographic memory allowing him to analyse and mimic any fighting style such as Captain America's, Hawkeye's and Iron Fist. He first debuted in the "The Avengers #195" (May 1980).

Worst part about the mcu character is that SHE uses her helmet to copy people's moves not photographic enhancement and quickthinking... basically a grunt with no powers
Kinda hope they say in the thunderbolts that she’s an impersonator that the red room made and that there’s an actual real one that’s an ex shield agent turned mercenary

@@katclif Gender bending is a issue for both parts as a writer If you care so much about female characters then just make one original be creative take time make a good foundation instead of just taking a character and changing its gender that's so lazy

One of my favorite comic book villains as well as one of my UMvC3 mains.
The way he threw that shield in the MCU clip makes no sense, it would have stuck into the ceiling
Holy moly taskmaster is one heck of a fighter which means he can copy almost every fighting style just by watching it
Except deadpool and moon knight. I believe he also can copy wolverine’s fighting style too.

He’s not even voiced by Clancy Brown.
Clancy Brown already voiced an MCU character, Surtur the Fire Demon, unless you want him to voice act or play as another character like Taskmaster, that could be an option.

This is more the devolution of Taskmaster. The depiction of the character gets worse and worse. MCU Task was a bloody disgrace.

I don’t mind the change of Taskmaster’s source of powers in the MCU, going for a tech approach. And the gender change isn’t a problem in the slightest. But the lack of personality is just bad.
I think Taskmaster relying on tech instead of observation and skill makes that version of the character a lot less menacing and interesting

I hope they fix Taskmaster character in the MCU. Like the Red Room created a suit to replicate his abilities. Make the "original" Taskmaster return.
Fun fact, the stunt double for the movie was a guy, which is why it is so clearly not a woman 90% of the time.

People getting mad at the newer one being a woman is stupid. Im mad that they replaced the photographic memory with just a HUD. Honestly I feel like less people would be mad if they gave her that, and if they for some reason HAD to have the tech stuff just give her both. Maybe even make it to where people think she can only fight and mimic with the helmet, but once its off they're unprepared for her to still mimic abilities.
If superman changed to a woman named Klara Kent with a green and purple suit and was raised by a single father in Marthas vineyard is he still superman? The answer is no its always no HE is the blue boy scout for a reason if you change the color and just go “oh i dont care its still superman” you are the problem

in the comics he had a daughter but she was never a taskmaster and in the mcu she was just someone widow new in the past

I don’t get why people are hating so much on MCU Taskmaster. It’s already been established that characters in the MCU are different than their comic book counterparts. And being pissed off because Taskmaster is a girl. You do realize that there are 9 characters in the MCU that are the opposite gender of their comic book counterparts right? Among them being Ghost, Fenris, Ancient One, and Morgan Stark. Taskmaster is just the latest addition. And FYI, they were gonna make Taskmaster male but they wanted the Black Widow movie to be a spy thriller as well as solve the mystery as to who Dreykov’s daughter was so they decided to merge the two into the same character
The reason why MCU taskmaster is awful is because it didn't need to be taskmaster. The MCU taskmaster doesn't represent the original one at all. They would have been a fine character if they didn't use the Taskmaster name. They could still have had this mystery character but they wanted to bring more attention so they lazily slapped the Taskmaster name on them and called it a day. The MCU Taskmaster sucks. The other gender bent characters did justice to their comic counter parts, Taskmaster didn't

There was a man under the suit but he wasn't Tony Masters. Taskmaster's identity isn't a "girl" and the fact that he wasn't Tony was but one of the many problems with Black Widow's take on his character. I still say Hawkeye and Black Widow mismatched villains.
Imagine being the one of the most skilled fighters in Marvel and have the power to copy other’s fighting styles with a look, and then lose to a guy in a leather suit.
