The best Peter Pan-type retelling I’ve read is the Katee Robert Wicked Villains book, A Worthy Opponent! It’s very spicy and focuses on Tink and Hook ⭐️
Ohhh I’ve read the first book in the Wicked Villains series but didn’t rate it - I may have to check this one out though! ☺️
Hi Lucy ! I hope you enjoyed your beautiful week-end !
It was so lovely! Hope you enjoyed the vlog and thank you for watching ♥️
Okay that book sounds so bizarre on so many levels hahaha. The spa looked amazing though!!
It was such a strange book! Thanks for watching ☺️
The cherry blossoms are so pretty 👀
So gorgeous! 🥰 thanks for watching! X
You should check out Wendy, Darling and Captain Pan by Rebecca F Kenney. It’s a an adult Peter Pan retelling romance.
Thanks for the recommendation! ☺️
I have a book that I bought last week also called ‘Straight on Till Morning’ but mine is by Liz Braswell. I have just finished her “Unbirthday’ and absolutely loved it so many important themes, so well Done. It wasn’t until the end that I realised this is a different author. The book you read sounds so weird…a bit creepy not in a good way I think. I’m still looking forward to my twisted Peter Pan story in the hands of an author i really enjoy reading.
Yes I’m sure there’s a good Peter Pan retelling out there, just sadly not this one 😅 thanks so much for watching!
I think that Peter Pan does lend itself for an erotic romance, but the way you describe _Straight on 'till morning_ makes it sound like the author didn't think how a classic story that we tell children could hold the attention of an adult audience, specially a female one, since it seems she was going for that demographic.
The universal allure of the story is not Neverland itself, with the mermaids and pirates and fairies. It's the idea that you can leave life's worries behind for a while, the idea of the youthful spirit lasting beyond our younger years. And then the question is if our character is strong enough to stop ourselves and reminds us to go back. Should we go back, or is being young the ideal way of living?
If I were to retell the story of Peter Pan, I would make it a romance between a woman in financial distress finding love with a member of a group of thieves. Maybe I will write something like that some day.
I think you should definitely write that retelling - I’d read it! Thanks for watching ☺️
