I felt the SAME way about Blood and Ash and also hadn't planned on reading book 2...until I got to the end of book 1! Book 2 is a bit better, ESPECIALLY the ending, but overall the book just moves a lot quicker than book 1. I actually pre-ordered book 3 because I HAVE to know what happens! This is the first book I've read by Jennifer Armentrout, and I'm honestly not a huge fan of her writing style. I definitely didn't feel as connected to her characters compared to Feyre and Rhys, for example (all-time fave couple!), and same as you, I felt like 70% of the first book was way too slow and boring. I'm also reading book 5 of the Bridgerton series and am hoping it's great as Eloise is one of my favorite characters! I wasn't a fan of Colin and Penelope's story (huge letdown as I had high hopes for their book!), so hoping for better with Eloise! Surprisingly, Benedict's story is my favorite so far! Thank you for your videos! Any book you recommend is always great. I've found quite a few through you!

I'm conflicted with From Blood and Ash - I like the tropey-ness, but something is missing and I think it could benefit from another edit...
