    It makes me so happy to see you react to Periphery. This band literally changed my music taste forever. I could recommend a bunch but since they're so versatile I'd go with two of their songs, Stranger Things and Flatline. Hope you keep reacting to them.

    This is DJENT! We did a clinic with Marc (one of the 3 guitarists) from Periphery when I was at GC. Nice guy, fun clinic. Lots of fun songs.. Gotta check out Marigold next from them

  • @XavierMacX
    @XavierMacX ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Funny you mention Meshuggah. Both they and Periphery are typically mentioned in the same breath as being the two largest pioneers of the syle 'djent'. Of course there were many other bands as well, but I would agree that both Meshuggah and Periphery are revolutionary kings of metal/metalcore/symphonic-death/djent style music. You have a whole new world open to you again!!! Cheers.

    So glad to see yall react to Periphery finally.. I've loved your reactions to Jinjer and Spiritbox.. Periphery is a hell of a ride.. they are the reason I found Jinjer and Spiritbox.. best drums.. best guitars.. and best male vocalist in Progressive metal.. or any metal in my opinion.. Spencer is crazy versatile in his vocal delivery! They have a lot of different sound though.. this is one of the heaviest songs in their catalog.. but they can also do some amazing softer songs as well.. my favorite band.. with Jinjer a close second!

    OHHHHH SHIT, the band that got me into metal (prog metal especially) nearly 4 years ago. Opeth may be my favorite band right now, but Periphery will always be special to me for getting me started on this journey.
    They're one of the early big djent bands, like Meshuggah. Those very chuggy guitars, the crazy rhythms. This is one of their heaviest songs, in terms of pure nasty vocals and chunky riffs. There's so many places you can go. I could recommend a bunch of songs, like Absolomb, which I started with. Totally different from this song. But there's one song that you guys will see in the comments nonstop. Reptile. It's one of the craziest songs ever. 17 minutes and all of it is fucking incredible. I don't know if you're ready for that...but you should do it soon. One more good one is Stranger Things. Choose any of those three, I'd say.

    Considering what Periphery evolved and popularised as a new direction in modern metal, in both style and production value, they really don't get the love they deserve .... they get plenty of love, but nowhere near the recognition they should be getting. Love them
    They have too many great tracks to bombard this comment with but yes ... you absolutely should react to 'Reptile'
