Of course they’re preselected. These outings are giving ideas of what to do if YOU were out in this kind of situation and on how to use what you find to keep yourself safe and alive. Just cuz you’re not out having these adventures doesn’t mean you need to criticize others for having and sharing them. Keep the negativity out and just enjoy the scenery.

Good to have shelter from the wet snow and wind. I bet that stove was great. Nice to cook a meal, warm, filling, good food. Thank you for sharing a winter adventure…from an old veteran, retired in the US, foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
Place a large log to block the opening of the door so you can sleep inside but a space so the pipe can allow the smoke to go outside. You just need a lot of wood for the night.
Not sure about others but I would have put the stove by the door with the stack facing away to keep the cave from filling up with smoke. Then the cave inside would been nice and warm rather than doing all of what he did outside the entrance of the door. Be a lot warmer inside. And cook inside which would have added to more warmth. Just my thoughts.

That one little one must be as tall as you now !!! I have been thinking of making some beef soup lately with carrots & stuff like peppers like you do only I will be putting a potatoe in mine for carbs then !!!
This may be my ignorance more than anything else , but why not rig the stove inside the cave and warm the cave up ? You could run the chimney pipes right out the door without too much issue and at least have " some " heat . Seems like a waste to have all that stuff and not use it to your best advantage .
@@Reelglad likely you wouldn't want it sealed up completely just for CO issues and/or any gasses in the cave . But some warmth inside would be preferred in my opinion .

The doorway of the cave does not look the same from when you look in from outside and see the metal door of the opening, and when you look out from within the cave to the outside and the small door disappears and it has no door but a wide open cave entrance! I think they are two different caves!
