I received a Beauty and The Beast Disney puzzle in 4th grade as a secret Santa gift. I still have it to this day and enjoy it immensely.

That Newsies/Beauty and the Beast double feature (do they even do that anymore?) has stuck with me to this day--both awesome movies, made even awesomer by Newsies introducing me to the talented (and handsome) Christian Bale.
Thanks for posting all of these. it's very interesting, whether I remember the commercial or not.

Man, I still remember when they featured Roger Rabbit at Disney World before the contract with MGM expired.. I need to pick up a copy of the movie for memories.

Oh man Steel Justice! I read about that one. It was a failed pilot movie about a cop whose son gets killed in a shootout. The bad part was his sons soul inhabits a small motorized dragon toy which would turn into a giant metal dragon if daddy got in trouble. They actually used the famous "truckasaurus" you see at all the monster truck rallies

The chocolate ravioli was the total bomb. I remember having some at my friends' house way back in the day and loving them.

The Bakersfield stuff is from a torrent I found of the complete (And awful) "Nightmare Cafe" TV series that had the commercials intact. This is the last volume I'll be posting of this stuff.
The Mann & Machine promos are necessary tools in understanding that while the early 90's were awesome, they weren't quite as awesome as you think.
    80's > 90's = FACT
And I thought I'd point out to everyone that these aired exactly 17 years ago today, on a Friday and everything. Isn't that incredible!?!

For those who don't know, Silo (the store at #15) was (obviously) an appliance store. They once jokingly used the term "bananas" instead of dollars while mentioning the price of a stereo system in a 1986 radio advertisement, and people started bringing in actual bananas to the Seattle and El Paso locations, thinking they'd get a stereo for free. The two locations obliged these customers, costing the chain around $10,400. Their ownership group sold the chain to a firm named Dixon Group a year later. In 1993, they sold Silo to appliance store chain Fretter, where it was basically run into the ground. The last locations closed in May 1996.

I knew I wouldn't be the only one saying they wanted some toasted raviolis.

For those who don't know what Silo was and don't feel like looking it up, it was an electronics/appliances store (outperforming Circuit City at one point during its life), but suddenly went under because of a simple slang term. Just before their demise, they ran a radio ad that used "bananas" in place of "dollars". Customers then started paying for items with actual bananas, and the ad campaign quickly failed. Silo ended up tanking not long after that.

It's nice to see Carolyn & Gaylen anchoring together as well as how KGET looked during the Ackerley days before Clear Channel & Newport took over. BTW, KGET wasn't really bad at this time.

That Saturn ad could have been still on today, as it was pretty much its company history.... and of course a company that "started from scratch" and actually THOUGHT about car making and MADE good cars is now gone.....
I too was sick of seeing "Mann & Machine".... one of those flash in the pans from 92 that bombed!

The first time I saw the Mann vs Machine promo, I thought it looked like utter crap. After the second, I thought it might be so bad, it's good. After this third one, I'm actually looking forward to it. Persistence pays off, I guess.

Sort of. Drink sizes on average are larger then they were even in the 90's. Mostly this is due to an increase of small and medium drink sizes.

are you sure about Bryan Cranston? his sensual voice on Malcolm in the Middle is a little different. It might be the comedy but I'll still take your word for it though.

I think NBC must have spent more time promoting M&M than actually airing it...
So the kid peeked under his coach's pants, but only cared about the hot lady's pizza bread? I think we know what team he grew up to play for...
I'd subscribe to a newspaper again, if my newspaper delivery guy would sing and dance.
How many people in California actually go to Disney World, considering they got a perfectly good Disney park in Anaheim?

4:42--I remember very well that Letterman used to follow Leno on NBC and then moved to CBS where he ran head-to-head with Leno for many years.
