i recorded the movie the nightman when it aired. i had it till 2007 when i moved, and i had to leave my movies. i wish i still had that movie. if any of you are lucky enough to see it. watch it. it was a fabulouse movie. thanks so much for the upload. it was nice to rember then. thanks again.
Environmental talk was all the rage in the early 90s, at least in elementary school classrooms (I turned 9 in '92). :) I remember reading loads of articles on air, water, land pollution, conservation of endangered species, energy conservation, etc. We put on a musical about not polluting the earth around this time. I remember getting endangered species handouts in kindergarten in the late 80s, and it was nothing new then. We've just been stagnant for the last 20+ years. That's all. :(
The Tic Tac girl is actress Kelly Harmon. She is is the sister to actor Mark Harmon of NCIS. Their older sister Kris Harmon was married to 60's teen idol singer/TV star Ricky Nelson. Kris played herself on the Nelson family show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.
I totally remember the "Have you driven a Ford lately?" jingle, and also the packaging for Pop Tarts. But, If I would've called my mom or dad kiddo, my teeth would've been at school before I made it there lol!
@Ribelin2000 Well coinsidering the fact that they are both actors. He probally thought that it was fine.As long as she doesn't act like that in real life.
I was in college at that time, and I was actually involved with a couple of campus organizations that were into environmental issues. Earth Day was just becoming a big deal at that time.
I think that's possible, however one of these 90s commercial videos has a commercial to buy a video cassette collection of 1950s commercials lol, so maybe it's just a nostalgia thing as well as more accessibility =]
I can't believe that movie "The Nightman" had Joanna Kerns in it (and while "Growing Pains" was still on the air, no less! I wonder what Kirk Cameron thought about it?).
Yes, you're right, but it wasn't until the 90s where concerns of GHGs became the main cause for concern. What I meant to note by my comment was that I was shocked that GE was talking about less carbon being used, since climate change wasn't thought of as a major concern. Although, they are only using the environment to market their product. Thanks for posting these commercials!
@franzchick66 It was a short-lived sitcom about a US Senator and his eccentric family. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in it as well (he can be briefly seen holding the teddy bear in the cast shot), playing the precocious son of a pre-Frasier David Hyde Pierce.
I'll save enough on my energy bill to "all but pay for the bulbs"? Doesn't that mean I lose money? That's a strange thing to mention in an ad. Or maybe I'm confused. Wait...Suave was/is a men's deodorant? Yeah, definitely confused.
Aww, Saturn back when their heart was in the right place, but styling aside, their cars were awful. They put an awful lot of emphasis on deodorant ads in the 90's. I still want one of those Taurus wagons. I miss the TV days of Fresh Prince and Blossom.
My first car was a 1992 Saturn. It ran very well until I got rid of it in 2004 (though maybe I should have just locked it in a shed). Granted, I could care less about hairstyling, but to me, the two women in the Suave ad have the exact same-looking hair. As much as I hate to agree with NBC about the quality of Fresh Prince and Blossom (both of which sucked other than the theme songs), the comedy competition was Evening Shade and Major Dad. Can we just agree that they all sucked?
I'm sorry, but I cannot fathom "skin-free" chicken from KFC. Surely that gimmick didn't last long. Hell, on the RARE occasion I go to KFC, it's FOR the delicious cripsy skin!!!!!!!! I love the comments about unfrosted Pop-Tarts. The only kind of Pop-Tarts I like are unfrosted blueberry.........and I don't toast them.
Wasn't that Peter Cullen doing the Murder One promo?
Everything about the 90's is utter nostalgia.....it's so strange to me how we can't go back to feeling that way again in these times.
The dad in the Corolla ad is John Doman from The Wire. Oddly enough he looks exactly the same as he did a decade later when the show started.

@veggievillan No. 1990 was the first year they were sold.
Analog TV signal, throttle cables, bag vacuums, Dave Thomas.
Things that worked.
They were totally not kidding about the corolla

thanks for including my local NBC O&O. KNBC use to rock! i watch sometimes, the only show i watch pritty much is minute to win it.
This is off the top of my head, but I think it aired after David Letterman.

And I thought Murder One was an ABC show. And as for that Speed Stick commercial..who could ever forget the "By Mennen" jingle.
Joseph Gordon Levett in a Pop Tarts comercial. Mind blown.
no the sweeper didn't pick up shit!!, i remember that.
I totally remember the "Have you driven a Ford lately?" jingle, and also the packaging for Pop Tarts. But, If I would've called my mom or dad kiddo, my teeth would've been at school before I made it there lol!
That second Suave commercial always stays with me, even before seeing it here. What an incredible-looking actress.
Charlie from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia would probably sue the people behind this movie if he had known about it.
@Ribelin2000 Well coinsidering the fact that they are both actors. He probally thought that it was fine.As long as she doesn't act like that in real life.
Good thing my Tandy 1000 didn't get a virus
If you're under five feet tall...you're short.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt was also in the sitcom advertised at the beginning of this video.
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!! THAT'S JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT @6:47!!!! HE WAS SO CUTE!!! I knew that was him omg hahahaha!!
lol Dirt Devil commercial, of course. It wouldn't be the 90's without a Dirt Devil vacume cleaner commercial here and there. xD
WOW. They've been talking about environmental issues since 1992? This seems ahead of its time.
I was in college at that time, and I was actually involved with a couple of campus organizations that were into environmental issues. Earth Day was just becoming a big deal at that time.
I wonder why 80's thru 2008 comercials are getting more and more popular on youtube? perhaps bc no one seems to watch live TV anymore?
I think that's possible, however one of these 90s commercial videos has a commercial to buy a video cassette collection of 1950s commercials lol, so maybe it's just a nostalgia thing as well as more accessibility =]
on "the powers that be: " what the f-- kind of show was that?
joseph gordon levitt looks so cute!
@19504x4 yeah my 33 MHz 386 was fine too.
What song is playing beginning at 3:26 (Blossom and Fresh Prince promo)
KFC is sooo expensive now! T^T We don't even eat there anymore and they discontinued their honey bbq wings.
they brought it back!!
***** They had great food, don't get me wrong...buuuut honey bbq wings tho.
+XxShadowvalkyriexX They had these wraps that they called "Twisters" They were so good but they got rid of them! :(

it'ssad thing that saturn is going away
Nah, I think that's Optimus Prime.
;)
The powers that be show had the staircase from the nanny (check the 1:15 mark)
The environmental movement dates back to the late 60's-early 70's.
The nightman 1992 love it.
March 6 92 was my date of birth. Haha.
Nothing quite like the smell of Murphy's wood oil soap when you add water to it, almost want to drink the stuff. Must be why it's still around/
"The Nightman" makes me think of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode.
Sounds like a spin off of "IT TAKES TWO".
I don't remember that movie American Me. Those dogs in those Dirt Devil commercials were so cute! The Nightman wasn't that big of a threat! Was he?
That must be a game 6 aclaim.
Damn, those pop-tarts didn't have any frosting.
6:46 for Joseph Gordon Levitt
Oh man, I can't stomach any poptart that doesn't have the frosting on it. My favorites are still cinnamon and strawberry. Yum!
That was Izzuzu Skolas codename after Rustic of course.
man i remember friday night videos!!
The Suave actress has such an exotic look about her.
little Joseph Gordon Levitt
"The Nightman" looks hot...
The Dirt Devils weren't garbage like they are today.
I want that sweeper too, dammit!
lol at 2:50 "in over 1 out of 2 homes"
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, being a boss at age 11
What's that song that sounds like uh huh from the fresh prince blossom promo? Answer only if you REALLY KNOW
Was The Nightman a sequel to Darkman? lol...Just kidding....Could you imagine?!!
I hear the Nightman is defeated by the Dayman.
I'll save enough on my energy bill to "all but pay for the bulbs"? Doesn't that mean I lose money? That's a strange thing to mention in an ad. Or maybe I'm confused. Wait...Suave was/is a men's deodorant? Yeah, definitely confused.
1:24 Kirsten Cohen!
Agh... the days of McDonalds supporting Athletics.
lol @ 2:30 "it's been good to my wood"
The "environment" was trendy for a few years in the 90s, and it'll probably pass from favor soon, again.
6:45
I LIKE THE "TICTAC" GIRL.
Damn!!! 1:05
NIGHT MAN! Ah-AAH-aaaahh!
I started cracking up at that because that's exactly what I was thinking of when I saw it XD
fresh prince blossom hour!!!!!
Salt n Peppa! ha ha

All of those cars are gabage now
The Nightman LOOKS LIKE A STUPID MOVIE
I'm sorry, but I cannot fathom "skin-free" chicken from KFC. Surely that gimmick didn't last long. Hell, on the RARE occasion I go to KFC, it's FOR the delicious cripsy skin!!!!!!!!
