Also can you give an update on the housing situation? You mentioned they are charging newcomers rent? I know Sadhana Forest is charging $8/day for food to volunteers which means I can't join that project. And one more thing, the audit said that people operating businesses for auroville(like a guesthouse or cafe) keep 69% for themselves and give 31% to Auroville. Is that what's really happening?
All these are being looked into hopefully. I'm not aware the changes every unit is undertaking or how much they are charging. Yes, there has been profiteering and they have been only making profits in the name of Auroville for decades. Rest, let us see what the Auroville Foundation does. Pls go through the audit report in the links given.

@VikramRam - I am not part of Auroville entirely but what is really the point that you are trying to prove by portraying only the negatives. I have always portrayed Auroville as my home abroad and always show the positive aspects of Auroville. If you have issues with Auroville and seeking help from the Govt which is already corrupt. And I have also heard Auroville Administration is also corrupt. But what are Aurovillians really doing to fix this? Where is the solution? Giving Auroville away to the Govt doesn't mean Auroville will come back into its original state. It Aurovillians are handicapped and they are not raising their voice to this injustice? Something is really wrong with people who are live in silence. Auroville doesn't feel the same anymore.
It was always like that in the underbelly, now all is out in the open. They always portray the postive aspects for donations and volunteers. What's been happening here is for four decades, do ask the question why no governments have done anything. Your answers r in front of you and you have already answered it. They call this a human experiment as the Mother envisioned.
