Really enjoyed this. It's so wonderful how many little connections across episodes there were during this era, it shows how aligned the writers were. Makes me miss it greatly. We had it so good for those brief 5 years back then!
The only problem the show had back then is that non of the fans weren’t appreciating what we were getting in the brenner seasons. Old Fans were still complaining about the cgi crap along when it was at its best. Also people didn’t appreciate the special back then either because all the fans thought it was all bullish with kings, dinos, and pirates in a trains show when it was really building off Sodor’s Lore. So Mattel saw that and now got the franchise completely mixed up with what Thomas & Friends was all about in the first place and all of the good times we got was all gone… if only we could go back and appreciate what we gotten. Maybe then the show would have still continued in its greatest form and F***en Sh*ts like Big World Big Adventures & All Engines Go wouldn’t have to exist.
So If it was structured as intended, the order goes: 1. A Most Singular Engine 2. Springtime for Diesel. 3. The case of the Puzzling parts 4. Dowager Hatt’s Busy Day 5. Runaway Engine 6. PA Problems 7. Hasty Hannah 8. Phillip’s number 9. Stuck in Gear 10. Unscheduled Stops 11. Oliver and the Fireworks 12. Daisy’s Perfect Christmas 13. Terrence Breaks the Ice 14. Thomas’ Animal Ark 15. Confused Coaches 16. The Big Freeze 17. Emily in the Middle 18. Cranky at the End of the Line 19. New Crane on the Dock 20. The Fastest Red Engine on Sodor 21. A Shed for Edward 22. Confusion without Delay 23. Chucklesome Trucks Very nice job! I’d like to try watching the season in this order, definitely feels more complete.
Watching these made me realize how hard the Brenner era went with minor plot details and continuity that most people never realized. Such a fun time for the show.
You just made a confusing season into one cohesive timeline w/o adding JBS perfectly! This sorta reminded me of the Hamtaro series where each episode takes place following the different seasonal atmospheres that span across each season each in a more intelligent and chronological order.
Maybe “A Shed For Edward” would have been better if they tied the Wellsworth sheds into Edward’s backstory. Perhaps Edward could have told Phillip he used to live at at the Wellsworth sheds before the big shed at Tidmouth was built - given how Edward is old and has been around for so long, it wouldn’t be a stretch. Perhaps there used to be small sheds like these at all the main line stations before Tidmouth Sheds was built, and most were torn down as a result, with the sheds at Wellsworth being the last of the old sheds still standing. That way, when Edward decides to stay with Phillip at Wellsworth, it would be due to him wanting to reconnect with some places he hasn’t been to in a while and him wanting to mentor the young Phillip, just as he had done for Thomas. It just fits his character so well, and it adds some further lore to him and the railway.
Honestly I think Diesels arc in this season is good enough to be a Railway Series episode. Perhaps titled Diesel the Devious Engine. Story 1: A Most Singular Engine. Story 2: Spring Time for Diesel. Story 3: Daisy’s Perfect Christmas. Story 4: The Big Freeze. I like to imagine this would book would be about Diesel being given a second trial and him learning to change his ways so he can become an official Sodor resident.
After the Shedward portion, I have an idea… What if Fastest Red Engine on Sodor, A Shed for Edward, Confusion Without Delay, and Chucklesome Trucks were rolled up into one four part arc similar to an RWS Book
Even with "Chucklesome Trucks" and "Confusion Without Delay" in Season 21, they're still fine episodes. And having seen Rebecca's episodes, they go to show that based on Rebecca's dilemma in her debut episode and winning Gordon's respect, her feelings she isn't as good as everyone else on the railway (a S22 episode) and her dealing with the trucks by keeping a positive attitude, Rebecca is quite a good role model from those episodes alone.
Im so glad that I’m not the only one who thinks Edward living at Wellsworth makes sense. He doesn’t need to be living at Tidmouth, and he doesn’t need to be a main character either. I’d much rather a once main character just show up every now and then and be in character than be forced into stories where he is out of character.
I think people really over hate S21 just because BWBA came out after. If you forget about that then you actually have a good finale season with all the arks coming to a close. Gordon and Spencer end their long time series rivalry, The Brendam docks gang gets a really nice send off and Edward gets Phillip to mentor. Love the video, 👍
The bwba should really exist this era from season 22 and 24 is awful all episodes all bad no good episode from the bwba the are bad to watch and non canon and nothing else
The thing that may have solved a lot of confusion, New Year is in the middle of winter, so technically you could get away with having TWO winters, one at the beginning of the year, and one at the very end.

I feel like fans would be less annoyed if the steam team bullshit didn't exist. The show's name was shortened to thomas and friends to make it seem like more of an ensemble cast. If they'd have explained in an episode that henry stops over in manchester to rest after taking the kipper or thomas and edward sometimes stop over at sheds at the end of their branch lines depending on what the first train of the day is, no one would bat an eye if they brought in a new main character that sometimes slept in the shed. Also side point but the kipper begins at the docks so him living in Vicarstown makes no sense
I'm legit surprised that you didn't mention Engine Of Many Colours, considering that follows James after the crash. I know it's a series 22 episode straight up, vut it makes too much sense to be a series 21 episode

Edward moving to Wellsworth, I can understand. But what I don't understand is why fans still defend Henry moving to Vicarstown despite the fact he had no reason why besides the obvious.
Or they could have had Nia stay at Wellsworth with Edward and Phillip since she apparently works on the Brendam branch. Oh wait, Mattel thought she had to be at Tidmouth. Right…
Something to note is that in the Thomas & Friends: Adventures! app, Edward is present at Tidmouth sheds in the cutscene adaptation of Thomas' Animal Ark, though Nia and Rebecca are also present. What should also be pointed out is that there is another Bambi reference in Terence breaks the ice, another tie with this episode.

I often thought Philip being in Wellsworth was just to pair him with an ex Steam member what with how often he was with them since arriving, as some sort of promotion. Similar to Henry moving with Rosie. I will say this regarding where Edward sleeps: Tug pointed out in the Sodor book, Edward slept at Tidmouth Sheds as his service starts at the Big station, as per Wrong Road and Exploit. Yet aside from occasions like Sees Red or Paint Pots, we rarely saw him resting there when the big engines were. Even before his relocation there in 1948 post book 6. fun fact they never dubbed this season in german and only like half of season 20 for whatever reason
What about Nia?
She was always planned to be added in BWBA. Rebecca’s the only one who was planned for season 21.
Bro I Have A Question, WHY DID YOU DO A FACE REVEAL OF TTTE GUY IN THE PARODY OF THE TRANSPORTERS?!!?!??! HE COULD HAVE DONE IT AT HIS OWN TIME WHENEVER HE WAS NOT DOING BACHMANN VIDEOS LIKE YOU AND UNLUCKY!
Me and my school was supposed to go up to st Bridget’s shrine
Yeah Fear of Fireworks should have been Oliver and replace Nia with Duck if it were in S21.
I’m not really so sure. Something about Oliver being scared of fireworks feels wrong to me.
Hello Adam did you hear about the storm in Ireland
Don’t even remind me. I am so upset with that storm for cancelling my art club for the second week in a row. I’m not even sure if I should be settled about it being on next week either cause it got cancelled 3 weeks in a row back in November, so I’m worried.
What’s 9 plus 10?
Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure?
9+10=19 (please don't say 21)
