If he was on the Atlanta Braves, he would've already been signed. How can you not sign this guy? This is beyond stupid.

Disagree, Braves would have him signed. My example Freddie Freedman.

150 ks a year, 217 avg , he’s not Freeman. He looks like a Yankee free agent signing if I ever seen one.

Pete has hit .250 or above every year beside the Covid year and last year which was considered a “down” year with his 46hrs & 118rbis. He’s a career .252 hitter. 100% he’s not freeman or Olson but he’s a legit hitter.

@@gabrielechevarria6313every year besides last year and the Covid year? You mean 2 out of his 5 seasons so far? He’s never hit over .271. I’m having a problem with the BA for $’s here

The only way he is in Mets' future is as a supporting player. Mets cannot win championship with him as a team leader.

All Due Respect to Pete Alonso, If he stays with the Mets, he'll likely be the Next David Wright:
Being the Best possible player for the Mets, but having to carry them to relevance.
Is that a Burden he can bear for the rest of his career?
That is the question that only he can answer.

You can't sit their and compare Wright to Alonso. Alonso is a prolific homerun power hitter that come once in a generation. Alonso can hit homers in any stadium. I like David Wright, he had his moments as a Met but he comes nowhere near the number of Hrs.
