Two months ago I discovered your channel, a month ago I asked for some video explanation about your setup, now you're here delivering just a couple of days after I ordered a few pedals for myself to give this a try. I truly appreciate this man! Thanks a lot. You're an inspiration to a few random internet folks out there.

YOU HAVE A DD-5 DRUM MACHINE.
When that flashed on screen, it brought so many memories.
I got one from a car-boot sale when I was 10 (a couple of decades ago),
The built in sounds are burnt into my brain, can't wait to check your video on it..

I know absolutely zero about synths but i just ordered a reface dx.
Being a guitar player i think it will be a great way to expand sound.....and also use up the old pedals i have hanging around.

Man, I've watched tons of jam videos ob youtube and massive amounts of gear reviews and electronic music content in general.
Your style and approach really stands out, not only because of the use of lo-fi gear, wich is a whole category in itself, but there's something else that I just couldn't put my finger on.
This video tells me you come in to this world of synth jam videos from a totally different angle. You're an experienced musician rather than the bedroom producer like the rest of us.
Anyway I thoroughly enjoy your explorations with the Casio and gang. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.

Vintage casio and yamaha keys are great when effects are added.
Just a quick note. Those yamaha's (like your pss 560) with the 5 slider synth. I do not know whether you know this but when all the 5 sliders are in the middle position that is the tone as originally programmed, I did not know this when I first started using these, but knowing this gives you a standard start position which makes changing the tones some much easier to plan and workout rather than just randomly changing stuff.
    Hope that helps someone!

@@TrimPathMusic Glad to be able to help!
It is worth picking up some of the early multi-effects as they have some 'strange' FX not easily achieved with normal guitar pedals, eg strange step filters, ring mods etc, and if you can also play around with parallel processing which is often overlooked as people tend to think, with guitar pedals, of using them only in series.

I love the bass wah and reverb sounds you got! I did the same thing in the late '80s - early '90s with a Casio SK-1 Sampler. I didn't use as many pedals but I do remember using my Digitech Whammy pedal lowering the octave and a delay pedal. I would noodle on it when I got bored with guitar and often I would come up with some original material and I would make some tracks on the Tascam 4 track Portastudio. It was a fun experience, inspiring me to pick up my guitar again. 🎹🔊🎛🎚🎸I don't know if you use any special pedal to allow the use of guitar pedals, but I had no problem hooking them up directly to the Casio.
