This is the right way to make khaowsuey. We learned it from someone from Burma, and this is the way she made it and i still make it the same way. Best part is the fried chili flakes and thinly sliced and fried garlic. I always make it extra and put it on anything with noodles with a touch of thin slice of green cabbage, green onions and fresh coriander and mint leaves😋

I am glad you liked the recipe. My favourite part about Khao suey is also fried garlic :)

This is the closest to how it was made at my in-laws. Only addition was fish sauce to the curry, and home made coconut milk. Fish Sauce cuts the overtly sweet coconut milk. Thank you for sharing your work.

You have ginger in the listed recipe but you don't say when to put it in or what to do with it.

Great stuff. Those folks from India and Pakistan should use this recipe instead of the stuff that they use and call it Khausa or Khausay as they like to call it. Thanks for showing how to make the real stuff the right way. Thanks from So. Calif. USA.

No need to put an entire geographical region down like that.
people adapt other cultures foods to their own taste palettes and availability of ingredients and budgets.
Those of us who want to keep authentic, will do so.
However, It’s not a criminal offence to be inspired by an authentic dish from another land and make it your own. It’s often called creativity and fusion food.
