Off topic, but the clip at 29:27 made me realize I watched you guys’ LPS videos when I was a kid, can’t believe I’m randomly rediscovering you guys after like 8 years😭. Happy to see you guys again!
I love learning about twins because my grandmother and great aunt are identical twins. When they are together they are basically inseparable, and it's always fun seeing other twins online who are the same! Although they also love to dress alike and have a lot of similar tastes and preferences. Sometimes you can't tell them apart because they have the same haircut too, but they love it and take advantage of it to pretend to be each other. They're honestly some pretty fun old ladies 😂 This is a very well done video, too! I love the different mediums you guys used between editing, animatics, and facecam. Great work!
Your grandmas and great aunt sound amazing! We aspire to be like them when we are older they sound like a lot of fun! Also thank you! We love drawing, editing and filming so we always try doing it all at once.
I just love your video-essays because they are always something original, I would have never imagined a mainstream video-essayist making a video like this and this is what makes it all the more intresting to watch, keep up the amazing work! Also I want to mention that Katie and Emily fitch from skins (season3 and 4) kinda show the message you want to send. But skins is an A grade series anyway.
I SUCK at talking in sync with someone else, it only happens unintentionally where we say the same word at the same time but that's really rare. So watching this had my brain tingling lmao good job you two 😪
I feel like it was an interesting choice to use Reverse Falls up next to the others since Reverse Falls isn't canon media. But also because them being evil isn't relating to their twinhood, it's a juxtaposition to the actual series where they're literally the town heros. I love Gravity Falls and how it Dipper (Mason) and Mabel are unique individuals. Probably because Alex based them heavily on him and his twin sister Ariel and their childhood ♡
I don't usually comment on videos, but this video was super interesting and I love your dissection on what it means to be a twin from an outside perspective!! Both of your thoughts and experiences were fascinating to listen to because I'm also a twin, but I grew up with a fraternal one, rather than an identical, and it's interesting how similar (yet how different) the experiences are! Growing up, my twin and I were thought of as a "two-for-one" kind of deal (we still use this joke now lol): if you were friends with one of us, you kind of had to be friends with both of us. The part in your video about using "we, us" language rather than "I, me" rung SO TRUE to my experience as a twin, and I still struggle to use individual language, despite my twin and I being pretty different people! Another thing I find really interesting in how different our experiences are is how my twin and I used to look very similar when we were younger, but now most people don't even know that we're twins. I've been called their name a lot (and they've been called my name), but if people don't know us, we either look like: 1) we're dating (a friend of ours thought that was our relationship when she met us initially), 2) just siblings (I'm the older twin, but people have thought of me as my twin's younger sibling), or 3) just friends (until they get a good look at us). Some other parts I really connected to with your guys' video was the comparison that comes with twinhood, as well as staying close into adulthood. The comparison conversation wasn't really ever talked about until very recently with my twin, and it was very eye-opening to learn that we both constantly compare ourselves to one another, for better or for worse (mostly worse). I can't imagine how bad the comparison was between you two, being as I'm only a fraternal twin rather than identical. And about staying close going into adulthood, it makes me very happy and comforted to see you both staying so close still, as my twin and I are around the same age as you both, so it makes me feel less weird about not wanting to separate from her anytime soon! Although her and I are pursuing different degrees, we both go to the same college and we try to take as many classes together as possible. I do feel a bit constricted being so close to my twin, as it's VERY difficult to imagine doing anything for myself and not including her (the feeling guilty for success felt hit extremely close to home), so it was really nice to hear that you guys talk about it. It can actually be really lonely being a twin!! People saying "thank god you have each other" can be quite nice, but your video really did a great job at expressing how difficult that can be (and how difficult it IS). Overall, I just wanted to say how amazing I think this video is, and I really want to thank you both for making it and accurately sharing the complex feelings and experiences of being a twin. I don't get to see or connect with a lot of twin content (especially not around my age range), so thank you so much! I love your guys' channel, please keep making your amazing videos. :)
I have a pair of twins in my family (about 2 years old) and they don’t get dressed alike. One has very short hair and the other has longer hair, they are very different and we are very good about making sure they won’t feel like the same person.
I experience some of this with my younger sister, who I am very close to, that I was often defined as being the bigger sister of my sister and not as being my own person, having a very strong bond. One of my biggest fear when I was a teenager was that a possible romantic partner of my sister could break our bond (somehow I could picture everyone being interested in it, but not my sister, it just felt wrong). We are both aroace. Our perfect future as teenagers was to live together a raise our kids together, should we ever want one and never to be in relationships, we also never experienced the childish sexuality (to get to know what feels good to your body, without the child thinking of anything sexual our having a child crush), that apperendly many other people have. Maybe this was the reason, why I it felt not like her to somehow be interessted in it when getting older (but I would have been happy for her).
great dissection!! just to inform u instantly regretted my da vinky comment but the sentiment still stands is that redmoon and bluemoon are the superior online twins with the best taste and if anyone disagrees they can take it up with the lps #10 in the sky. id take two twin ex lpstubers each one doing their own thing over thing one and thing two anyday. in fact id erase every disgrace to twins
To me, twins are just a normal occurrence , so to hear twins be called “freaks” is so weird to me 😂 I had at least one twin in my class, every year, so I learned to set people apart really easily
It's kinda weird that I'm a twin and didn't realized the majority of the bad twin tropes? I just pinned it with bad writing that stemmed out of not understanding and was like "they're dumb and uninformed, oh well :v". But also found the part of the society very interesting, because we don't live in the USA. Here being closer with your family is more accepted and even a positive, so maybe that's why people don't get creepily weird. But you guys resemble A LOT of the relationship chemistry we have, it was very fun to watch!
My year 1 (abt 5-6) class didn't believe I was a twin bc my sister wasn't in my class and we aren't identical and they told me 'you can't be twins because you aren't identical' lmaooo
i feel like people who think twins r weird didn't grow up with twins. my cousins are twins (i have multiple cousins who r twins) and i don't see twins as weird or as one person because my cousins r twins and ive grown up with them
Y'all are an anomaly to me not because you're twins, but because I don't understand siblings getting along. I've been no contact with one sister for over a year and the other for a month now. I had a horrible time with one of my sisters growing up and it was abusive from the start
im not even a twin, but my sister and i are constantly compared to eachother (,,,we r 3 years apart, n shes older). i can honestly relate to finding it as a curse to be so similar to another, as it makes me feel like i wasn't my own person (not to mention, i got glasses recently, so i look even MORE similar
Twins freak me out so I watch you guys as exposure therapy

This is such a well-made video! I love your guys skits mixed in with a very informational video. Very original style and the acting is so funny

Thank you! We messed up a lot off camera, it is surprisingly really hard.
