She absolutely doesn't work in every team, if you don't have her E6. Without E6, she will lose stacks very quickly vs enemies who aren't weak to fire, so her buff effectiveness will be extremely bad. Her fire damage bonus would also be wasted. She is arguably Best in Slot support vs fire weakness enemies, but I'd use any other utility character instead if enemies don't have fire weakness. So technically, she can be used in any team, but she is enemy dependent, rather than team dependent. Which is different from e.g. Tingyun, who actually works in every situation and any team. Oh, and she is MUCH better in teams with 2 DPS characters, as her buffs are AoE. I especially like her when paired with Himeko and a Hunt character (too bad we don't have a fire hunt character yet).
Same English VA as Mona in Genshin. Both deal with stars. Hearing Mona's voice talking about spending money crazily the way Asta does will always be hilarious for me.

A few tips for using Asta's ult. If Asta's ult is full before the battle, I usually use his ult immediately right at the start of battle before the first character's action started, it's really helpful (especially in MoC when we want to fight the second boss) to encourage our party to immediately take the enemy's turn who wants to act first, it's like in that position our party is really on the same starting line. But this trick only works at the start of battle.
As a side note, while the Break Effect version is very efficient, there's some recent playstyles floating around building hybrid crit/break on the main DPS and getting insane burst damage from breaking the enemy, especially with units like Sushang who can break the enemy on their own in a single turn. Since only one break can occur at a time, it may be better to build either crit or straight support on Asta if you're using a hybrid breaker main DPS.
So far my main strategy is building 2 DPS, 2 Preservation and 2 Abundance to have strong cores, and then building various supports for different scenarios, and even without any investment relic wise, Asta is till one of the strongest alongside Tingyun bc she just gives strong flat buff, she's great.
E6 is her best eidolon IMO because if you’re up against a fire-weak enemy then you can just NA every single turn and she is completely skill-point positive while keeping her buff up
yup i've got her E6 with Dance! lightcone and she just gives so much atk and speed without needing good relics. much easier to farm than bronya or tingyun
She's a great enabler because of the speed buff. You get more extra turns, not to mention that some planar ornament sets actually activate when hitting speed points.
I feel like you have to build her for utility. Meaning: Speed, Effect Hit Rate, Energy Regeneration, etc. Asta doesn’t really have good damage builds but breaking could work.
God asta is so good. I was able to get an e6 from Dan's banner. E4 asta with sprightly vonwaq planar set, er rope, and s5 meshing cogs can ult every 2 turns without needing to kill an enemy or take damage. 100% ult uptime is really nuts.

I just put def and hp, now she never dies in world 6, it’s the best build for me. I hate how many times she died early and then I spent so much time and didn’t get the final double rewards because of her dying.

Imo Effect res not recommended since unironically freeze and other cc effects actually extend her buff since her charge stacks only decrease when she takes a turn. With that being said, speed boots are not recommended either, just get enough speed in subs to proc the ageless set.
Asta is the 4 star I've been investing on the most (have her E6 already) because I love her mechanics and her design. I'm really happy with her already, so thank you for this guide, now I'll be able to build her even better!

Her kit is heavily buff centric, heavy on fire break damage, but does little actual damage. You're better investing in a hunt character as your main dps. It just isn't possible to get the output of damage you want from a damage built support, especially in this game.
I don’t use a support character but I really want to since I have seen people use them to get higher damage, but my only support is asta which is a f2p character and I have been skeptical about building her since I want a better support such as tingyun or even bronya. there is a future relic set leaked that gives: 2-Pc: Increases SPD by 6%. 4-Pc: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turns. This effect cannot be stacked. but I don't know if this set would be good for her or if it would be overkill in terms of SPD
Asta’s CN VA is the same as Kokomi’s and it’s so cute because it felt like Asta is who Kokomi wanted to be but in HSR-bubbly, a little rebellious, on an adventure herself with no baggage.
I'm only a month into the game and was struggling with MoC 2. just not enough resources atm for 8 characters. I neglected the fire Element only using hook until level 50 and replacing her with silver wolf. SW is on my team with clara pela and march so my team 2 was struggling. I used one days worth of trailblaze energy on my level 20 e5 asta to bring her to level 50/60 and only upgraded her skill and ult to level 6 including the eidolons bonus. She carried so hard with her breaks and speed boosts i cleared it with 3* on my second try finishing the first half of MoC 2 in about 7 turns. Clara and SW carried part 2 in 4 lol. I'm hoping to get at least 20 stars next MoC rotation
I've been using break effect Asta for awhile now, and it is fun when it triggers, but the fact that her Ultimate deals no damage makes it much harder for her to control when to break.
her ult has the most value throughout her entire moveset since the spd buff for the team can be valuable in many situations so atleast for me im fine with her not doing dmg with it
@@Yvxha Oh yeah, no doubt that it's super valuable. I just mean that it makes it harder for her to break on demand. If you have a Break Effect character, it's nice to be able to pop their ult right when the enemy's toughness bar is low. For Asta, you can only trigger break if she happens to get her turn at the right time, which makes it a lot harder to take advantage of a high BE%.

I realize that as a content creator Sevy can't talk about leaks, but there's an extremely support-focused Relic set coming in 1.2 that people should probably research before going all-in on any of the current ones.
People understimate E1... being able to generate 36 energy instead of 30 is super-useful, since that 6 additional energy is also buffed by her Energy Regeneration Rate. There is no other character with such a Energy mechanic
@@joshuacooper6713 Welt E6 is a strong unit by default, since you need the other 5 Eidolons, so C6 is not as impresive as Asta E1 because Asta has that bonus Very Early in the eidolons. Tho is true that that ability is not restricted to Asta.
Not sure if it's worth investing into her skill until you've maxed your main carries, as it doesn't increase the break damage, and her damage is very low otherwise. Getting it to level 5 is probably worth it, bit not higher than that. I've also seen people recommend using the damage reductuon set with support characters, and it's especially good on Asta, as she already has high defense for a support. But best in slot is probably wind set, as you cab use her ultimate once every 2 turns with enough energy regeneration, so you basically shorten her 2-turn cycles from 2 to 1.75, which is equivalent to 14.3% speed increase, and way better than Musketeer effect (though it's a major skill point drain, as you need to use her skill every time).
I built my Asta full break effect because of the misconception of break effect But because of it, my Asta can deal about 30k damage when breaking fire weakness
I got c6 asta by the time a won her c6 with all her c6, i only got arlan, once, i was cursing my luck, even got 34 of her in my 1st ten pull, so happy since, shes amazing, this was all on 1st banner, now i pulled her 2 in a row on silverwolf banner, my tears are rivers lol

Asta C% was just so good that i just put my C2 tingyun on the bench for the rest of he's existance and let asta buff stupidly my jin instead and other characters .-. Her meteor shoot pieces is still in purple but she survive more ofen than my lv70 tingyun and with NO DEFENSIVE MAIN and substats. The reason is still a mystery for me (no she didn;t unlock the 80 gap level already and she didn't unlock the planar traces who gives us defense proportional to her stack boost .-.)

I just got her c5 today so i guess the game really wants me to want her. She is still lvl 40 but i guess ill get her to lvl 70 and replace fire traiblazer with her. I think the team will be good with asta, bailu, tingyuan and seele
I would personally still stick with meshing cogs! The thing with Past and Future is how its setup requires finetuning your rotation order to ensure you can consistently buff the right target. Sometimes as well, if you opt to do a Basic ATK, its effect won't trigger. Whereas meshing cogs will conveniently and consistently trigger and give significant energy gain. Of course, if you really think you can maximize Past and Future's potential, then go ahead :D
Whenever I use her ult, it's hard to feel the impact it has on the turn order. Idk, maybe I'm using it wrong or have like very little uptime on it. Or I'm just spoiled by using welt and his OP turn manipulation.
works best with dance dance dance lc, as advanced forward acts like a shortcut hence its more apparent in increasing turn order, speed buff does it as well but wont be as obvious but in the long run it does help, pair both together and u get a wide early turn order for ur team
Try to cast her ult immediately after the end of a batch of your units in the queue (spam the button right after your turn but before the enemy turn actually occurs). If you cast it too early while your units are already next up, then you basically wasted it since moving them up doesn't change the order. Also, sometimes the next enemy turn is too far ahead (mostly during boss battles where they have multiple discrete actions), so even boosted you don't have enough to overtake.

Does Bronya's lightcone dmg buff work on ultimates? I have it on her but honestly I can't really tell much. I wonder if that hunt blessing that buffs the attack of a character that acts twice/thrice in a row also works on ultimates.
Am I the only one who thinks that Asta is actually a bit better than Tingyun? Asta's speed buff will activate the planetary ornament bonus buff on everyone, especially now since Speed boots are sooooo rare. Maybe in the long run, Tingyun will be better, but Asta is for now more suitable for beginners and ones who don't have a character perfectly built yet.
Same here but not tingyun. Tingyun skill last for 3 turns thats extremely valuable. I would agree if it was bronya. Her ult is teamwide but only valuable for dps. In that regard, shes ONLY really buffing one character. Meanwhile asta's ult is teamwide too but is valuable to anyone. Atk and crit damage boost=valuable only on dps Speed=valuable on EVERYONE regardless of role
@@danielak1666 I am not saying that Tingyun is bad, but for early game Asta can provide your whole team with Attack and speed buffs, while dealing a respectable amount of damage with her break effect build and melting the toughness bar for fire weak enemies. Tingyun on the other hand, will make 1 character unleash their nukes more often and stronger, but that character needs to be already well built for this buff to be really effective. I have both of them, and I levelled them both, Asta's sheer amount of utility that brings to the team early on, far surpasses Tingyun's single target buffs. In my honest opinion. They are both great though.

Asta full use happens when she's decently built and you have a team that is already decently built but lacking good gears. Her maintenance cost and the need to cast skill a bit often to offset her high burst cost make her do less at e0. Tingyun on the other hand only requires you to build your dps decently well. So Asta are great when you already prepared and start doing forgotten Hall and MoC. Her overall utility might end up surpass Tingyun 1 unit support. But IMO Tingyun is still better for beginners and end game player since she works well even without any investment and she became better when you have a fully built team
Ah yes, the queen of fire weakness break effects. The amount of fire weakness breaks makes those enemies go ASTA LA VISTA 💀 but in all seriousness, she is crucial when it comes to giving a team wide speed boost on her ult but most importantly going up against bosses and enemies with fire weakness breaks using her skill.

People understimate E1... being able to generate 36 energy instead of 30 is super-useful, since that 6 additional energy is also buffed by her Energy Regeneration Rate. There is no other character with such a Energy mechanic

@@joshuacooper6713 Welt E6 is a strong unit by default, since you need the other 5 Eidolons, so C6 is not as impresive as Asta E1 because Asta has that bonus Very Early in the eidolons. Tho is true that that ability is not restricted to Asta.

Not sure if it's worth investing into her skill until you've maxed your main carries, as it doesn't increase the break damage, and her damage is very low otherwise. Getting it to level 5 is probably worth it, bit not higher than that.
I've also seen people recommend using the damage reductuon set with support characters, and it's especially good on Asta, as she already has high defense for a support.
But best in slot is probably wind set, as you cab use her ultimate once every 2 turns with enough energy regeneration, so you basically shorten her 2-turn cycles from 2 to 1.75, which is equivalent to 14.3% speed increase, and way better than Musketeer effect (though it's a major skill point drain, as you need to use her skill every time).

I use Asta at level 50 still and she just breaks enemies and speeds up my team.
Traces priority lvl up everything that can be lvl up until all is max out.

I built my Asta full break effect because of the misconception of break effect
But because of it, my Asta can deal about 30k damage when breaking fire weakness
I got c6 asta by the time a won her c6 with all her c6, i only got arlan, once, i was cursing my luck, even got 34 of her in my 1st ten pull, so happy since, shes amazing, this was all on 1st banner, now i pulled her 2 in a row on silverwolf banner, my tears are rivers lol

Asta C% was just so good that i just put my C2 tingyun on the bench for the rest of he's existance and let asta buff stupidly my jin instead and other characters .-. Her meteor shoot pieces is still in purple but she survive more ofen than my lv70 tingyun and with NO DEFENSIVE MAIN and substats. The reason is still a mystery for me (no she didn;t unlock the 80 gap level already and she didn't unlock the planar traces who gives us defense proportional to her stack boost .-.)
I think the wind relic set could be good too since it would support more frequent ultimate use. :)

I just got her c5 today so i guess the game really wants me to want her. She is still lvl 40 but i guess ill get her to lvl 70 and replace fire traiblazer with her. I think the team will be good with asta, bailu, tingyuan and seele
I have the exact same team with E4 Asta and it's CRACKED with a well invested Seele even if your Tingyun and Asta aren't built well

I would personally still stick with meshing cogs! The thing with Past and Future is how its setup requires finetuning your rotation order to ensure you can consistently buff the right target. Sometimes as well, if you opt to do a Basic ATK, its effect won't trigger. Whereas meshing cogs will conveniently and consistently trigger and give significant energy gain. Of course, if you really think you can maximize Past and Future's potential, then go ahead :D

Whenever I use her ult, it's hard to feel the impact it has on the turn order. Idk, maybe I'm using it wrong or have like very little uptime on it. Or I'm just spoiled by using welt and his OP turn manipulation.
works best with dance dance dance lc, as advanced forward acts like a shortcut hence its more apparent in increasing turn order, speed buff does it as well but wont be as obvious but in the long run it does help, pair both together and u get a wide early turn order for ur team
True ik the speed buff is good but I wasn't sure if I was using it right or not
Try to cast her ult immediately after the end of a batch of your units in the queue (spam the button right after your turn but before the enemy turn actually occurs).
If you cast it too early while your units are already next up, then you basically wasted it since moving them up doesn't change the order.
Also, sometimes the next enemy turn is too far ahead (mostly during boss battles where they have multiple discrete actions), so even boosted you don't have enough to overtake.
So, whats the best practice, all break-effect, all regular and fire damage or compromise between hp/def and regular damage for F2P?

Am I the only one who thinks that Asta is actually a bit better than Tingyun? Asta's speed buff will activate the planetary ornament bonus buff on everyone, especially now since Speed boots are sooooo rare. Maybe in the long run, Tingyun will be better, but Asta is for now more suitable for beginners and ones who don't have a character perfectly built yet.
Well, Tingyun is easier to use and rely less to rng compared to Asta. Not saying she's bad, but she isn't really beginner friendly either
Same here but not tingyun. Tingyun skill last for 3 turns thats extremely valuable. I would agree if it was bronya. Her ult is teamwide but only valuable for dps. In that regard, shes ONLY really buffing one character.
Meanwhile asta's ult is teamwide too but is valuable to anyone.
Atk and crit damage boost=valuable only on dps
Speed=valuable on EVERYONE regardless of role
@@danielak1666 I am not saying that Tingyun is bad, but for early game Asta can provide your whole team with Attack and speed buffs, while dealing a respectable amount of damage with her break effect build and melting the toughness bar for fire weak enemies. Tingyun on the other hand, will make 1 character unleash their nukes more often and stronger, but that character needs to be already well built for this buff to be really effective. I have both of them, and I levelled them both, Asta's sheer amount of utility that brings to the team early on, far surpasses Tingyun's single target buffs. In my honest opinion. They are both great though.
@@andrewmattar4178 never said Asta is bad, but she isn't easier to use compared to tingyun especially on the early games. Asta full use happens when she's decently built and you have a team that is already decently built but lacking good gears. Her maintenance cost and the need to cast skill a bit often to offset her high burst cost make her do less at e0. Tingyun on the other hand only requires you to build your dps decently well. So Asta are great when you already prepared and start doing forgotten Hall and MoC. Her overall utility might end up surpass Tingyun 1 unit support. But IMO Tingyun is still better for beginners and end game player since she works well even without any investment and she became better when you have a fully built team
Ah yes, the queen of fire weakness break effects. The amount of fire weakness breaks makes those enemies go ASTA LA VISTA 💀 but in all seriousness, she is crucial when it comes to giving a team wide speed boost on her ult but most importantly going up against bosses and enemies with fire weakness breaks using her skill.
