I thought at the time I was the be all and end all indie affectionardo, We heard Marion everywhere, every club & bar, on the radio, but somehow I didn't take to them. I kinda felt maybe they were not the genuine article, being so tight I assumed manufactured ala Menswear & other Britpop bands.. But now with retrospect I was so wrong, its quite clear how novel and firebrand they were, the tunes still stand on their own, it now clear to see how so many other bands aped them, the vocalist from Shed 7 particular, they are like a rockier Suede of the North. I bet their contemporaries are quite happy Marion via the introspective excesses of the singer took a 15+ year time out.
Phenomenal band and album. Saw them at The Rig in Nottingham during Freshers week. Jaime's body language and pose make him far from a star here, though.

Beard And Phil's weaving guitars are reminiscent of Keef And Brian During the early days of The Rolling Stones.
