I am pretty sure every Italian family has some version of this device. Ours was stainless steel, and clamped to the kitchen table. This one is probably older, but the basic design is the same. I can't guess how much pasta was made on ours over the decades. Mom used it almost every Saturday for around 40 years, maybe more. No store bought product can taste like homemade fresh pasta. Some restaurants can do as well as my Mom, but not many. This device when used by a mother does not create food. It creates love.

Here's to family!
True love never dies!!
That baby was brass, that’s a solid sign it was used in a commercial capacity or by a well off family. It has probably made a vast amount of people happy over the years.
Bronze, for the dies at least. Brass is very susceptible to corrosion in contact with food acids and sugars.@@jeepfail7068
Interesting how the wheel you made looks much more crude despite modern tools at your disposal, old artisans really were something else.
making that cog must've been laborious and time consuming. and using the old handle as a template was very clever. excellent job
Making that one cog by hand...omg
You and your perfect dough. Now you're just showing off.
Every video you make is a masterclass on doing it right. Thank you!
All bronze - NICE!!!!! I'd have HOURS of fun with my polishing wheels with that! And you'd need sunglasses to use it! 🤣
If you haven't seen the Clickspring episode on making a brass card press for Chris Ramsay, check it out. He polishes it to absolute perfection... and then electro gold plates it so it will never tarnish. That thing got SOOO shiny!
Well excellent job on the entire restoration. Like that you kept the old handle for a template and remade the broken gear. The base however just makes it a showpiece, as this kind of classic model would often be permanently mounted to the kitchen countertop or have it's own small dedicated table for being used to make pasta.
Wow. I was impressed when you hand-cut the gear. But you blew my mind with that lathe trick. So cool!
C'est toujours un plaisir de te voir à l’œuvre !
My family recently got a pasta maker and it was one of the best kitchen purchases we've ever made. Now you have one too! Hope you or whoever owns it next gets plenty of use out of it.
5:08 the game over sound of a video game
That method of copying on the lathe - absolute genius!
Another great restoration video where there has been an inordinate amount of time and care taken to produce such a great result. Well done and thanks for creating such wonderful content. Thanks.
The before / after is really really impressive 🤩👍
Обалдеть, классная реставрация, итог на все 💯. Прям домашняя макаронная фабрика. Спасибо за видос братан, лайк однозначно🙏.
That’s a true labor of love- especially with that replacement cog. Superb job!
Beautiful. Back in the day even the most utilitarian objects were esthetically pleasing.
And made to last forever
@@seven9arts The ones that were made to last forever survived, the garbage ones that just broke were tossed away. It's survivor bias at its finest.
Reminded me of times spendt making pasta at home with my mom. I hated making it by hand and having to hang it on the pasta tree. How I miss those days. My parents have a small silver metal version that had a different layout.
Thankyou for posting a new video! I like how you put gel feet on the bottom of the wood stand, not too many channels do that :)
They stop that infuriating thing where the machine tries to shuffle across the bench as the handle is turned.
Beautiful job, as always. I love brass items! You find some very unique items to restore. Thank you!
Thanks for another great video! It’s cool see you restore something that isn’t so visually destroyed. The super rusted and pitted object are cool too but there was something cozy about this one. Like it was refreshed rather than restored? Something getting a new lease on life and not being brought back from the dead 🤣
What a beautiful job, well done!
Love starting my morning with these
Those are not spaghetti but "fettuccine". Spaghetti are always rounded while these are flat. For who want to know the long flat pastas are (for the wider to thinner) pappardelle, tagliatelle, fettuccine, tagliolini. From 3 to 5mm wide are fettuccine. Thank you for the great restoration as always! 🍝
Nice job! It looks great!
Toujours une travail satisfaisant et une vidéo de qualité qui donne l'impression qu'avec un peu de matériel on peut tout rénové 😇
I like the idea of using the parting tool and cutting tool as a pattern follower
Thank you for sharing another great video!
I hope your channel grows bigger. The quality is amazing. I am not sure if you do all the filming yourself but this could sky rocket with a full crew. Restorations like these deserve to be seen in the highest possible quality. It is restoring art history!
Beautiful restoration 😊
Making the new gear was really impressive, great job!
Your stuff is so good!
Beautiful!
Lovely. I love things that are both aesthetically pleasing and useful. Thank you for restoring this beautiful item to its original purpose.
Fantastic job you did restoring that antique pasta making machine. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work as usual.

Nice work and great presentation!
You are definitively a top tier restorator on TH-cam, that pasta maker looks brand new 👌.
The only thing I'm concern is how you use your bendsaw without any protection, be really careful with that.
Simply brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed this restoration work video. Keep them coming. Love from Rwanda 🇷🇼❤️

5:46 I would never have the patience. Bravo to you sir
Given it's condition, I would've offered the vendor $10. But amazing job, as usual 🙂
That pasta should be rolled thinner at the end😁
i actually prefer Fettuccine Alfredo, heavy cream, right amount of fresh garlic with some fresh bread and a California Chardonnay. i also enjoy this type of video here. 👍
Super 👍
