    Good idea, but looks iffy on the strength of the holding surfaces, and the strength of the spinous process. Would need to see maturity in the product without mechanical failures to convince me as a patient and as an engineer myself.

    Fusion is a bad option, as it drives the presure to the next disks tje need to compensate for rhe loas of flexibility in the near disk. Thia usually causes to more near by herniated disks.

    These type of products don't work. I had one put in on my L3-4 after being in surgery for 14 hours only for 9 hours after waking up from the surgery for it to snap the first time the hospital staff tried to move me. I went 9 months unable to move and i have had 4 back surgeries in less then 2 years. With no end in site I still ended up with the rods and screws and 12inch scares on both my stomach and back and all of these surgeries have failed I'm 26 and will never have my life back or any of the feeling back in my legs I have pins and needles in both my legs all the time and the pain is out of this world I mean I can't get out of bed most days due to the back pain. all my future holds is surgery after surgery to try and fix my spine. It's just bullshit and really it's a great idea guys and I thank anyone who is trying to evolve the spinal options to hopefully help people I hope you can make this work because guys I don't wish this pain on anyone my life is ruined I hope yours won't be

      You are living my greatest fear. I just saw UCLA's new option and I think it is fantastic. It is a non-fusion option (no snapping risks). I am going to call and ask how long before we can use this technology.

    I had a L4-5 and L5-s1 fusion in the beginning of 2017 after 2 years of TERRIBLE back pain/Leg pain (herniated disc)and then at the end of the year I had the screws and rods removed. (Still had pain, different pain dr said should remove hardware) Since the removal I’ve been so much worse! MRI and X-ray shows “perfectly healed spine” can anyone help ? Where could this pain come from? Can’t sleep, EVERYTHING HURTS! back breaking pain when cough, sneeze, try to run. I’m only 31 but I feel like I’m 90!

      Hope you doing better since your last comment. I pray you out of pain, nobody should suffer this.
      Pls try Gentle massage around area of surgery and then entire back & gentle stretching..stop when any pain is unbearable and gentle strengthening..start there and you'll know what to do after that works.
      God bless you to heal spiritually and to see that pain can also be on other levels, not only the physical kind.🙏

      @Drpatrickwarren 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheShivaspirit it’s been going better. In ways. I still get terrible leg pains at night randomly. I ran for a bit (as in a couple wks. (Minute run/minute walk))and it’s wasn’t bad at all. Sneezing is still as bad, like I brace for pain when I sneeze. I have to quickly get up if I’m laying down bc that is a terrible pain. Lastly, bathroom issues. Which at times has been pretty embarrassing. I’ve pissed myself more than I’d like to admit. Plus other bullshit lolol

    this def has flaws. for people who have herniations this solved nothing as the disc is the pain generator. This does nothing except to stabilize a level but yet not solve the main issue. You still need to remove the nucleus of the disc which has the chemicals that cause the inflammation on the nerves. i dont see this as any benefit what so ever

    This system will most likely mechanically fail. Stress shielding between the metal and bone will fatigue the spinous processes under the physiological cyclic stress of spine motion.

    This video is such a generalization. Simply said it's not entirely accurate. There are no guarantees in these type of surgery's. I think they're just trying to sell a product.

    Fusion is no longer the way to go. UCLA invented a non-fusion device that is much better and prevents damage above and below the segment that has been fused, which is a common issue with fusion. That's the way I think I am going to go.

      What’s the none fusion device called, I’d appreciate this information, I’m not a good candidate for spinal fusion cause also have spinal stenosis…so he said I can’t do anything to help you except for steroid injections every 6 months, it really does not help, I’m so discouraged 🥺
