  • A well-made kaizo::hard hack by Turbofa from 2012. Comments and timestamps below.
    Comments
    - This hack was a lot of fun to play, so thanks to "Puff-Jiggly-Puff Games" for recommending it to me. It's one of the rare hacks that have good visuals, level themes and good obstacles.
    - This hack also has a strong C|C felling to it.
    - There are numerous breaks in this hack. 01:16 02:18 10:55 12:41 19:29 There's always a big tradeoff between showing big breaks and showing off the actual level, not just skipping it.
    - The balloon L+R glitch is patched in this hack. For someone like me who uses it every time, this makes balloon movement seem really slow. 01:50
    - Good ol' cool or cruel music. 04:48 On a related note: I should play C|C stage 12.
    - Using green vs yellow pipes to indicate which ones shoot bullets is nice. 04:57
    - Most of the levels in this hack have non-linear design, making them more interesting to play.
    - It's the cluster sprite... 22:11
    - The coin puzzles in this area are another cool way of making the levels not just about running to the right. (And then I just broke them) 23:05
    - Some sort of shop blocks as coin filters? Sure, that works. 24:19
    - I hate rooms that are just dark. I doesn't add much to the level, is trivial if you turn up the screen brightness and makes things hard to see in the video. 24:31
    - Switching between the two on/off toggled block was the most annoying section in this hack. It's precise, not fun and you have to do it many times. Layer 2 not resetting your y-speed doesn't help either. 30:00
    - Yumps don't really work in vertical levels, do they? 31:14
    - That's a very nice way of hiding an exit. I also love how Mario "goes back into the ghost house" by walking to the left. 33:46
    - You can swim below the level here, but it doesn't help 35:33
    - This custom block is a weird combination of two things. Who thought of this? 38:21
    - Hiding a mushroom there is just mean 40:11
    - In this part, I tried to get the koopa to kick the throw block up to the switch for way too long 45:59
    - This setup seemed way to complicated 48:19
    - The creator of this hack was smart and disabled spin jumping in this room 48:41
