That was intense, haha. This was one of the more extreme SMW TAS's I've ever seen, they used just about every trick in the book there. I particularly liked the 'Null Sprite On Yoshi's Tongue Turned Into A Message Box To Be Used As A Platform While He Slowly Sinks In A Repeating Pattern Made Up Of The Top Part Of The Lava' glitch. The name could be a little more catchy, but that one was fun and gives me some good ideas, haha.

Specifically, it's the big blue from F-Zero GX, which is different to the original versions. Oh and you forgot 22:18, It's Super Mario Bros Metal remix, an original composition.

Huh, how curious. The bit you say is "Impossible without TAS" I'd say is one of the most doable things in this hack if you compare it to all the other stuff happening
@@le4cheiscool362 thanks for proving my point 9:58 and the first three examples have a bunch of midairs. If you want to see what a rainbow shell looks like, go to 10:45
I am definitely thankful for what you said (btw Jay made the boss room and the room before it so you can mostly thank him). Also, I could never make a kaizo hack as good as yours. I never really was the puzzle-solving/creating type of guy.
This is the most creative pit hack I've ever seen, and 20:34 onward is probably the most insane and creative thing I've seen in any hack, ever (yes, this includes C|C, LotE, Wall-jump Abuse, both Glitch Abuse hacks, and any of my own hacks). I don't think there's any faults I can find. Maybe if I get out my microscope... But I'm still not trying it because it looks too hard.
Thank you, ShadowDragon and I are the creators and the players =P sd did like all of the inserting of stuff, I just suggested what I wanted to make it look good.
They're beyond Kaizo difficulty. Even the hardest Kaizo hacks don't require you to play the entire game frame by frame, pit hacks are a step above Kaizo.
It's an item swap, having the shell on yoshi's tongue while getting hit causes him to lick twice, and on the second lick he ate the koopa, but got hit. What was meant to happen was that the koopa starts falling through the floor when you jump off yoshi, which is what happened during testing. For some reason, this time yoshi somehow started flying, so we decided to keep it in.
The pipes don't register $77 (whether Mario is on ground or not) and that allows you to enter them as long as your speed = 0 and you have a precise position at the bottom of the pipe. If the player is on ground, $77 is set to 4, but I guess you could also check bit 1 of $8D for the same effect...
Epic TAS. I would die trying to TAS it. ಠ_ಠ I really like the amount of work put in both by the creator of this hack and the player. Really like how the map, music, blocks, etc were polished.
Each individual section might be doable without TAS. But the truly mind- boggling thing is that there's absolutely no checkpoints till you fight the final boss of the hack. Which means if they died at any point near the end they'd have to redo THE WHOLE DAMN THING. Imagine getting almost to the checkpoint by sheer luck and then messing up there and then having to redo practically twenty minutes of expert skill playing.
No, seriously. Nobody is ever going to finish even the first room without tools. I doubt anyone would even get past the one-sided walljumps on Yoshi. Even if they had unlimited time.
First of all, this is incredible! I would like to see wall clips patched out of pit hacks though sometimes. I'm not sure exactly why as it's definitely a personal preference. I suppose it makes me wonder why sometimes a specific trick or item is used to make a jump when I've seen Mario scale a wall dozens of times by just walljumping it. I'm sure someone will explain why I'm wrong.
Ok. I don't think It necessarily checks your vertical speed since I tried it in my own hack and I entered them midair while falling down. I'm pretty sure it checks for one specific y position, as I can't enter them while on a sprite that is one pixel lower than a regular tile (IE Grey falling platform, turnblock bridge)
This has got to be the hardest hack ever. Lets face it, Living on the Edge was hard, but it isn't too long. This however is extreamly long, its 2 levels and holy sh**, the puzzles. This passes all pit hacks. Unless someone can make one that is an HOUR long with lots of hard tricks and clever puzzles using glitch abuse, this is the hardest SMW hack on record. =O
When I said that there was a level of difficulty in SMW hacks that was FAR beyond pit hacks, this was definitely what I was talking about. Good job... and what was the music at 10:30, by the way?
I have a silly question here, the version of "Stickerbrush Symphony" you used for the first level, is that just the SNES version of the song or a specific mix?
+Todd Gobbett I can't remember the name exacly, but you should be able to find it in smwcentral. It's just a rock/punk version of the original SMB theme. I remember using it for my first hack.
WOW!!! Congratulations, this is the hardest SMW hack but... you know what? I am NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER going to play this hack because I do not use TAS. Only Chuck Norris, God and Satan will beat this game without TAS... but me? NOP!

I haven't seen another hack come close to this in terms of technical brilliance and ambition.
Armageddon. Dont know how it manages to feel shorter than this too
This is still one of the most creative and entertaining mario videos i've ever watched! Great work :)
Greatest pit hack so far! Not only this is difficult as hell, but it is creative, challenging and beautiful. Nice work!

I have no idea what this is, but it makes me really sad and happy at the same time. Thank you.
Not only he completed it with style, but he also beat the second level with rhythm. Amazing.
Just gotta say, you're my favorite Mario World TASer.
Wow, I haven't seen good hacks in a long time. But after that speed room, I am greatly impressed.
wow Congratulations, you've created the best hack ever! :'D

being someone who absolutely has no idea how to swim, between the river and going through this level…
yeah i’d take my chances with the river
These are special screen scrolling pipes, and for some reason certain pipes allow you to enter them without a ground to wallcatch.
what's a pit hack?
A custom Super Mario World level considered too difficult to be played without using slowdown, frame advance, and savestates.
HoorayForJay so just the top half or so of kaizo levels? like I thought that's kinda already the description of kaizo
They're beyond Kaizo difficulty. Even the hardest Kaizo hacks don't require you to play the entire game frame by frame, pit hacks are a step above Kaizo.

I expected just another pit-hack but this is pretty damn neat. You got my bd!
"Snowfall", can't remember who by. It was originally used on the C|C soundtrack.
This is awesome,I think this is the first Pit hack I ever seen, that have a story.
Can someone tell me the sountrack please.
The fact that this is the longest pit/edge hack right now
really makes me wonder if all popular TASers will even try to play this.
Hold my beer

5.28-6.07 is a remix of a music of Donkey Kong Country 2 of a level were there is cactus and spikes everywere in world 3,4,final

you made corner clipping to the right with small mario
this is possible?
and then mario flew around using 2 keys. nobody has ever seen such a thing untill now.
We used several smv's and linked them together, but roughly 85-90k frames and rerecords.
Still easier than getting hypnosis to affect the opposing Pokemon in Crystal.

How does that glitch at 19:52 work? Did the palette of the blue Koopa somehow become transferred to the shell in Yoshi's mouth?
This was a spiritual journey
fantastically incredible
That was just non-stop amazement, wow.
My favorite part about this hack honestly was the story.
It's Stickerbrush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2, a game that's full of great music, incidentally.
Why is it called colonthree ?????????????????
also did you know the number 3 looks like a bu-
Which is why i put a "/" to Pit and edge since they're pretty much the same thing.
Finishing this stage as a human would be similar to having marvel powers ;)
Now try to beat this on real SNES. :-)
No, I don't think that's possible.
Magdalena Bartosiewicz
It is nowhere near possible
zzz
I assume the box around 1:50 says something like "Oh goody, you can use the Yoshi Springboard trick."
how to mount the invisible yoshi and the normal?
Is there some kind of music list I can look at for all the songs that were used in the hack?
how to you make corner clipping to right?
with small mario?
You need help hit the block in room 1?
I love kirby music. What was the song in the purple area? It's so relaxing!
It's no longer the pit hack series. It's the Colon hack series! :D

Am I the only one who cares about the name of those arranged BGM?
Sure like to know them all if anyone is willing to tell me, thanks.
What was 14:28 for? Why did you jumped twice on that ramp before going left and up?
It's the music when you're in a cave in pokemon gold/silver/crystal. Might be the same music in the previous generation, I'm not sure.
the best pit hack ever
If this is too easy then so is every hack that anyone has ever made in the history of ever.
It's about the same amount of rerecords as frames, so like 85k. I dread to think what it would be if someone took the time to optimise O_O

I know this is TAS only, but is it really wrong of me to want to see Iso try lping this?
hey friend how to catch the ''fish star'' ?
C|C is by worldpeace, remembered the song is by Sirens or something.
which is the block name that makes the sprites pass and mario not
Hilk y I think it's not uploaded on SMWCentral so you would have to make them by yourself

How can someone play in the same level as the tas? Whats the point in making a hack like this?
