when I paint on denim or leather my biggest tip is to start with a layer of white! it lets you get a base coat down without having to build up colours as much, and it also just makes the colours tend to pop more :)

I love when you're at the thrift store and you can tell that the normal person who prices the stuff wasn't there that day. So The beautiful designer item instead of being like 30 bucks was priced at like 4.
New thing reccomendation: find a latch hook rug kit and hook it up, then slap it on a jacket or bag? I recently peer pressured a friend into buying a garfield christmas latch hook at goodwill! Also, tip from someone that did stencils as part of their job, if your surface is uneven or you are worried about the edges bleeding always do the first coat in the color of the item you are painting on, that way if it bleeds its just the background color and that first layer will seal the edges!

I'm really interested in learning about plant-based dying, especially the kind where they wrap up plant matter (ex: petals, whole flowers, whole herbs) in tight bundles and soak them in a solution, then unroll, pick off the plant matter, and the colors/shapes are left on the fabric.
My favorite Ghibli film is kiki's delivery service. I always thought the story was so cute and I loved how it was about a young witch trying to find herself in the world. Made me fall in love with black cats :3.

I'm so impressed that the acrylic didn't mess up the cashmere! I've been experimenting with ombre dyeing some pants green and they kind of look like a spring onion?? So now I'm wondering if I should make a spring onion out of fabric to like.... Attach to them somehow. Idk if I'll follow through haha

oooh I can never get fabric paint to look crispy so I am intrigued (admittedly I have tried a grand total of once). currently trying to find a way to make breeches with a poofy knee (like a poofy sleeve, but on the knee cap. knee sleeve). holy clothing posted some concept designs last week that are exactly what I'm looking for but who knows if they'll actually ever drop
