      Im popping my PRND fuse , replaced ignition switch/module , by the key , replaced multi function switch , replaced the whole transmission that worked in my other truck , so i put it back in it . Still blows the stupid fuse , no tach , ni speedo , stuck in second ..im replacing the wire harness now to the transmission and doing a dash swap ,with a bunch of new wire harnesses, but my hopes ain't high ..could the cluster do that , blow the fuse for prnd ? 2000 gmc 3500 bucket truck ..5.7 4l80e 2wd

I believe it’s the headlight switch because last 99-02 vehicle I worked on had this problem and there headlight switch was bad it wasn’t making connection inside no more, I usually just by pass this problem from the fuse box and all lightning works again but I believe by changing the headlight switch it will fix the problem

    I have something like the intermittent gauge issue, exept the engine light, volt and oil pressure are not affected. Everything else goes off like crazy, all warning lights are flashing and needles jump up and down. Happens after driving 30 min to an hour. Sometimes it goes back to normal after a couple minuttes and other times it goes on for hours, or until i stop the car for a couple min. Tried the ground wire fix and no luck. You have an idea what coult cause this?

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Since the volt gauge is continuously working, that lets me know the ground and ignition wire is good. And since the RPM and mile per hour are cutting in and out along with the gauges that use the bus signal, that lets me know it's probably not the serial bus. So you probably have internal cluster issues, like fractured solder joints on the cluster PCB.

    I've been having issues with my 2000 Silverado cluster.
    When I turn the truck off, take the key out, open and shut the door, once the dome light goes out, the high beam indicator and cruise control indicator both light up on the cluster and stay lit. It drains the battery. Also the D on the gear select is dimly lit, just barely able to make it out when it's dark.
    Even if I take the key out and leave the door open, the lights will still come on. Everything on the cluster works fine and normal. I've sent the cluster out for refurbishment, still does it. I don't know if it's the cluster or something else shorting out waking the cluster up. I've replaced the multifunction switch with factory new, still does it.
    Next I will put a refurbished BCM in. Maybe it's bad?? Idk.
    Do you know what circumstance would cause these lights to come on and drain the battery? Radio off, security light off, just what I stated above.
