And I think a little more interview would have been nice to see, it seemed a little dismissive for an amazing guy in the sport. As he says, he literally is the vibe master.

Sam Pilgrim is such a good inspiration for beginners to start riding. He shows that you don't need the top of the line expensive bike in order to have fun riding, which is something I think GMBN could learn from.

This isn't meant to be hating on GMBN, they are entertaining and I love watching. I just think Sam is fantastic for showing that you can ride anything and have a blast.

GMBN is an advertising billboard for those who can afford. For a start it's called Global Mountain Biking Network but i have only seen A few Bikes from the area where 99% of this bikes come from. South East Asia have so many Bike Brands beeing use in many competetions but never heard it here.
Sam got me interested in mountain biking, his energy, enthusiasm and sense of humour inspired me to get my first proper mb at age 50. Cheers Sam, all power to ya 👊🏿🙏🏿😊
Everyone should know that you don’t need the best bikes to be good there comes a point where spending more doesn’t make you any more skill full or faster. Only spend big bucks if your rich or racing that’s my thoughts
Cool, yeah. He actually inspired me to build my own bed bike, who needs expensive full sus if I can shred on my own bed bike.
Let’s cancel the idea that you need to ride a $10 000 bike, with some famous brand logo on every piece of clothing, to be a serious mountain-biker; you may as well just wear a gold unitard, covered in dollar signs. Someone like Sam Pilgrim represents what cycling is to far more people: finding local features to ride, building things to ride on, do-it-yourself bike upgrades, and having fun with the sport. I’m sure it’s fun to dress up like a sponsored racer for every ride and do a ‘dream build’ every time you upgrade your bike, but that isn’t cycling for most of us.

@@sebastiendoucet2058 nobody is saying that you need to ride $10000 bike though. You are basically trying to cancel a thing that does not exist.
Sam represents childhood - nobody had bike parks and expensive bikes back in the day. You were confined to the suburbs after school and on weekends with whatever bike you got your hands on. Sessioning urban features and building jumps in some scrubby patch of bush was the pinnacle of creativity and freedom. You can't buy stoke!
Sam is probably my favorite rider in general. Love how he's always pushing the limits and willing to try crazy stuff no one else ever would. His channel is amazing, I couldn't imagine losing that. And in terms of responsibility, he always wears a helmets and tells others to as well, keeping safety in mind. I know a few people who didn't want to wear helmets at first, kinda treating it like bmx, so he sets a great example that it's "cool". Overall love what he does and his contribution to the sport of mtb in general.
Sam‘s channel is great. The crazy anarchy is a welcome contrast to artificial Instagram „celebrities“ and flagship stores in big cities. Less commerce, more fun.

Sam is one of the best things to ever happen to mtn biking! He proves you can have fun on ANY bike, even the ones Niel calls "Crap Bikes." He enjoys any/all bikes and attracts people to mtn biking who can't afford multi thousand dollar bikes!!!! Do you remember when the International ski jumping association changed the rules to exclude people like Eddie the Eagle from Olympic competition because, "He DIDN'T FIT" their idea of what they wanted to present to the world!?!?!?!?

Sam is a tremendous athlete, a gymnast on a bike- any bike- and fun, funny and super entertaining. Who says he needs to represent most of us? I don't think he's telling kids to try to do what he does. To me he just represents what can be done, if you're Sam Pilgrim!! 🤣

If you want to canceling something, then cancel over priced bikes, over priced components, and over priced gear, and the over emphasis on needing top shelf components and performance.

Sam showing what cheap bikes can handle (and what they can't) is great. His skill tutorial videos are above my ability, but I dont go to him for technical breakdowns I go to him for sending it, smashing it, flipping it, and whipping it

Sam is motivational! No one has more fun riding bikes than Sam. I know I'll never ride like Sam, but I get pumped to get out and ride after I watch his vids.
Imagine inviting one of the greatest people in mtb and then trying to put shit on him for half the show. Poor form GMBN, you should be promoting every aspect of the sport, not trying to belittle it. Its quite obvious Sam did not enjoy this interview and for good reason.
It came off really badly, I was cringing. I know Blake and Sam P are good mates but really GMBN, Sam Pilgrim is literally a pioneering genius of the sport and vastly more entertaining than you are and you just leave him on the sofa for 10 mins without saying a word. I know GMBN copy a lot of his ideas so maybe they’re jealous or wary of him but there was no introduction for people that don’t know him and the interview made him out to be some sort of criminal. Bad form GMBN because WE LOVE HIM MORE THAN YOU!

when I first got into mountain biking i came across Sam Pilgrim and he just blew my mind with what and where he was riding! really was a big inspiration to me to get better at mtb and go out and just have a good time on any bike! still is today
As a contrast to the people who take MTB too seriously whether on TouTube, Insta, or Strava, Sam Pilgrim is the sport’s court jester, thumbing his nose at their KOM’s and perfect bikes. The spirit of Sam is simply, “go ride and have fun.” In that sense he embodies the best of what the sport has to offer the average punter.

Clearly intended for mainland Europe where the one next to it has no locks at all and is easier to nick. But it's on Kickstarter so the prototype is probably a con, and the biggest theft they next experience will be the campaign creator running off with all the cash. 🤣

Sam is the reason I got into mountain biking. The idea of being able to urban freeride when I cant make it to the trails was a game changer. Not to mention all the crazy fun bikes he rides, I wish I could try each one of them!!!!

Pilgrim nailed his point about security. Most are chill dudes if you're respectful. At the end of the day they are doing their job, they're just making sure they can put food on the table and a roof over their heads, same as all of us. I've had some really good interactions with security who've even pointed out new spots and enjoyed watching us send them. Manners really can make the difference.
Sam has the best MTB channel on TH-cam and is a class act… I know Sam is friends with these guys but the old guy was passively aggressively rude to Sam, my inspiration… His videos have the best energy… Don’t mess with a legend like that…

they earn their money through sponsorship unfortunately . They wouldn't even reply to my email about my world record mtb . mbr, bikeweekly, bikerumor, nsmb all featured my bike and it was in the magazines but gmbn oh no they couldn't be bothered . Shame .

Sam's channel is exactly what MTB needs. Not only is it fun for us old timers, but it's a great representation of how fun bikes can be and will bring in more riders that stick around the lifestyle/sport much longer.

I love Sam Pilgrim. Do not delete! I’m in my forties and I ride for fun and exercise, I have no interest in the stress of competition. Totally inspiring to see an older rider showing us what’s possible and not taking life too seriously.
If you use a hollow threaded rod with a wider star nut bolt to take the wider rod threading. You can run the brake lines directly down the center of the headset (had this setup on 2006 norco 4x4). Also had Main body of front brake zip tied together for over a year, Previous owner broke it during a crash that caused amnesia for a few days.
Do a show one week with all the presenters having removed their false teeth! 😂

I love Sam's channel. He has fun and is an absolutely amazing rider.
If there was anything I could delete from mountain biking is people going out and just cutting a trail anywhere without any thought to the damage they are causing to the environment. I also don't like the marketing showing just that. Like with eBikes now.......go explore places you can't go with a normal bike, then show someone tearing up a new unplanned or unmaintained trail.
We spent so many years getting mountain biking to be and be viewed as an environmentally sustainable sport and now we have this whole movement of.......who cares about nature and wooded areas. Just go shred them wherever you want......No! We shouldn't be encouraging that....at all!
So what about timber harvesting?
Around here it’s done with huge machines that’s destroy EVERYTHING and nobody cares.
But when there’s someone that build a berm in the forest everyone goes crazy’s.
This is hypocrisy at its finest…
