The viking will prove itself 10 years later. They are durable beyond the intended use, and look great with a 2 inch lift and 28s or 30s. Drivetrain is near indestructable.
Any chance you could show the same drive but from an outside perspective? Having someone film you? I’d love to see the grades you descended and climbed.
Absolutely! I'll have to do it again sometime in the winter after I'm done hunting on my property.... But just know that the grades are fairly steep! This vehicle handled it easily.
I like utility models because you can get in and out of them easily, and, most of my wheeling is simply cruising around looking for wildlife and enjoying the scenery. I had a Polaris Ranger for many years. It was the first off-road vehicle I had made in the USA. I had always owned Yamaha previously. For me the Ranger was not as well made as Japanese models, and, the fit and finish was not there. I am considering a Viking. My only concern, at this point, is the powerplant. In your opinion, is the Viking underpowered? My Ranger had an 800cc motor. In terms of power, it was not bad.
Underpowered? NO WAY .... We also use it for plowing snow and it pushes large amounts around with ease...even UPhill! This is a very well made vehicle in all respects..... STRONGLY RECOMMEND.
@@TapArchery Thank you for you immediate attention to my question. Have nice weekend from Glamis, California....the Sand Capital of Southern California.
@@duanesnow424 If Yamaha upgrades the Viking to the new engine used in the Wolverine, it would be a huge seller for people who love off roading in places as different where we both live.
How do you find the ride quality and comfort level??? Im thinking about going from a 2021 Grizzly, so my wife is more comfortable...Any advice is appreciated, thanks!! I realize Ill be giving up nimbleness, but Im sure it will be better?
Very sweet looking utv. As of right now my purchase is gonna be between the Polaris 570 full size or the Viking. I like the style of the Viking better but like the performance of the 570 better and heard what it can do. Guess its gonna come down to who can give me a better deal
probably about as loud as most ATVs out there, it's something you get accustomed to.... have never checked it with dB meter from the cab... I will though!
When you say “four wheel drive differential” I’m assuming you mean you are using the option to lock the the front differential correct? I have the same Viking, the rear diff is permanently locked and the front can be left open and run in 4WD or locked so both axles are locked for max grip. Can you just clarify what you mean? For future videos it would be easier to say “I locked” the front differential as everyone knows what that means. 🤘
first time I've seen that comparison .... I'll have to ask my wife if she agrees! .... "sweetie, you know that one crazy guy from Jackass named Johnny Knoxville? Do I sound like him?" 😆

Amazing machines and the reliability is awesome great choice of machines. Hopefully see more videos to come 👍
Thank you! Beyond impressed with everything I've experienced with this machine. Huge props to Yamaha for their design.

Very comfortable! Almost like driving a small passenger vehicle....this is not your old school ATV ride!
Does it have engine breaking for when going down a steep slope?
yes! very much so.... to the point that unless you're on a very steep incline like this, little use of the actual physical brake pedal is required.
What degree angle is that first downhill part? Seems to be around a 20-25% degree angle (40-50 % grade)
honestly don't know for certain.... it's STEEP... I'd guess that your guess is about correct though.
@@TapArchery I guess the real question is can your viking go back up that same hill. Downhill is "easy." :)
@@tompolak394 it can! however given the steep grade in order to avoid rollover you have to drive in more of a switchback style.

If you do go Viking you won't regret it! Phenomenal vehicle. Good luck with your purchase.
Yamaha > polaris since whenever polaris started trying.
How is the noise level when on long rides? Does it get annoying?
probably about as loud as most ATVs out there, it's something you get accustomed to.... have never checked it with dB meter from the cab... I will though!
What bow company you thinking about making better and taking them to the next level
We're working specifically on PSE for 2021... More info will come out on what we have to offer by late Winter.
This is a beast
It is! Has gotten out of every difficult off-road situation I've put it into.
Interesting camera angle
Thanks! I thought so too and it did provide a fairly good perspective on the steepness of the trail.

Yes the rear is permanently locked I would assume.
We put our Yamaha viking EPS to the Test! Hey!! that's rhymes!! just sayin!
True! Hadn't considered that until now. 😁
sounds like im riding with Nicholas Cage
first I got the Johnny Knoxville comparison.... and now Nicholas Cage! 😂
