16 years ago I started playing Counter-Strike Source ... for a few hours and declared it to be trash because I couldn't hit a thing. As a CoD player, my brain couldn't comprehend my bullets not going where my crosshair is. I gave it another try some time later and I collected 300 hours in total for CSS, never really understanding the game. In 2014, my boys and me started with CSGO. Since we had a "veteran" with us, I now started to learn some basics. Countless TH-cam tutorials built me up and I got over 3000 hours by 2018, reaching Global Elite and FaceIt level 9 (never made it to 10, but I mainly played MM). Now CS2 made me return and I quickly realized it's hard to keep up with the pace. Some people never dropped the game and have become insanely good. It's only now that I acquired a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of the game, bringing me back on track recently. What I'm trying to say is: This game looks shallow (like she said in the video; 'you see one round, you have seen them all'), but in reality it has so much depth. exacly, the reason cs is so complex is the fact that its simple and never changes. that is why the same map goes through 10 different metas across its lifespan, because nothing changes and so the losing teams have to think of a way to counter that and so on, in a way cs is the football of gaming, the only difference being the fact that you arent allowed to drop the game for more than 2-3 days before having to play for another month to get back to where you left off :P
Yea. I was in the start of a depression. CsGo made it a lot worse. I developed psychosomatic tics. Love the game since beta 0.3 (halflife mod times. Pre HE grenades). But no. I cannot return
My wife walked in on me watching a CS major tourney. She had no idea what was going on for a short amount of time I just told her one team was a huge underdog and the other was supposed to win the tournament. To make a long story short she is a bad news eagles fan now and watches almost every CS event. I didn't think she would get into CS as much as she did and now when I show her my highlights she pops off for me :)
I used to live in this game. starting at the age of 13, I commited my whole life to playing cs back in 2000. god, those days were magical. no such thing as gambling or a toxic community. not everyone was nice, but most people were. I played it straight for 4 years, then other things became more important. but hell, this was easily one of the best days in my life.

Honestly the best explanation of the counter strike addiction. It starts with learning the crazy game mechanics. The game mechanics lead to a spiral of practice like you're rocky. That leads to you testing the waters with boxes, boxes lead to sadness and right when you're at your lowest a W comes your way. You are now hooked. It has been 10 years.

Honestly, NO. If you have a girl you shouldn't play anything. I had a girl for more than 5 years, we went to the cinema, on a walk, on a vacation, etc. But I always played DOTA 2 and CSGO. I was planning to propose to her in March on her birthday, but 5 days before my birthday at the beginning of November she ended our relationship. She said that she doesn't feel like she receives as much attention and love as she wants and my focus is mainly on my games. I get frustrated a lot and many times she is the one taking the negatives of my lost competitive games... so yeah, if you have time to waste and you are single it's fine, play as much as you want, but if you have somebody that you love and its important for you, then you better draw your attention to her/him or lose it like in my case. Stay safe and I hope someone reads this and actually helps him.
Funny I'm going through a troubled marriage because of my love for gaming among other things. To anyone interested, I can tell them one thing: Live your own life first. If you must have a partner, make sure they can accept you for who you are, and you can accept them for who they are. It may sound like a great thing to give up a passion to please your partner. But it rarely is. Happiness will fade away eventually if that happens. Live and let live. And don't forget to love. Both yourself and who you care for.
I wanted to watch this episode so bad but I just realised your bf could become a full time cs gamer instead of multiple games. do not let him undergo that transformation. I made that mistake and 3k hours and 5 years later here we are.
I wonder if we'll get a follow up with just the community server stuff since there are basically many other games in them, might have to be year later though. With zombie escape, TTT, Surf, Bhop, etc. there's a lot different things inside of counter strike that are not a super competitive shooter.
My little one tappable pea brain is absolutely loving this video. Literally not too long but dripping in quality, feels like I just got flashed but in the right ways.
How your boyfriend comes up with the funniest memes boggles the mind. Please don't let this channel die, i don't think I'd endure a world without Girlfriend Reviews.
This is how I know GFR have a great thing! I have zero interest in the game, but I click because I know I’m going to be laughing loadsss within seconds 😂
As a First Person Shooter enjoyer, let me tell you about the holy grail of shooters: Titanfall 2 - Great hipfire & ADS gameplay - Diverse guns - Infinite ammo & grenades - Instant respawn - Movement as smooth and fast as Sonic on butter - Grappling Hook - Obsolete micro transactions and did I mention? - GIANT FREEAKING ROBOTS
This is my first girlfriend review video. honestly so funny. The waiting again for nades had me actually laughing so true. As a decent player with 6k hours. Try surfing when you get tired of cs2 being bad :)
Your edits, jokes, and memes are beyond top tier. You are seeing jokes that are so obvious that it shocks me no one else has made them yet. "Im bathroom, he flashed me, it's long!" That joke right there was so freaking obvious, I have no clue how I've never heard someone make that before. Same with the learning all the smokes in 72 hours with that seinfeld clip. Amazing video!
1:19 "apparently, counter-strike is hard" tbh that's not surprising considering the people really into it have been playing essentially the same game on basically the same engine (the same 2-3 engines, but engines 2 and 3 are just heavily updated versions of the 1st one) for 23 years now. I can't think of any other popular competitive shooter that's been going that long, the top level players are absolutely cracked
This is 100% accurate, especially the bit with the deranking happening at the beginning lol. I quit CS:GO for good probably over 4 years ago, after sinking over a thousand or so hours into it over the course of probably the same amount of time. At this point I have probable been out longer than I was ever in. The game actively punished you for things you can't even control (like a bad team) and then when their servers would crash (also their fault and nothing i could do about it) the game banned me for quitting a competitive match. After that happened one too many times I quick and never looked back at CS again. Probably extended the days in my life as a result.
as someone who is 36 and played cs since i was 16 who also watches mainstream console gaming channels like this it is always interesting to see these youtubers cross paths with CS.
"everyone stands around, the round starts, everyone moves up 20 feet, everyone stands around again while they wait for the other team to throw every grenade in the world, then theres one minute of panic and jump scares until everyones dead, or something explodes" honestly i have never heard a better description of this game before

@@johnragmailcom “Here’s a pile of dung. Lemme dig out a kernel of dung-covered corn - see it’s not the worst! Hungry yet?”
No thanks, man. I’m good.
@@johnragmailcomnah people in cs are either toxic or people know how to ignore
It's like that toxic relationship where you know something isn't right but then you like something about it.
That was a very deep futurama meta-joke and i applaud you for it 👏
This is so on the nose, I’m sending it to my wife. She’s always asking what the game is about. I couldn’t think of a better video to send.
Shelby: CS:GO is hard.
Me, who only plays with bots on easy difficulty: Interesting!
"Now get in there and click some heads" lol
shit Matt is actually cracked at CoD
and great references to DBZ
nearly a decade since I first played the game like 8K hours and this is one of the best CS vids ever in the community
The Yoko Ono part made me laugh my ass off
Honestly, NO.
To anyone interested, I can tell them one thing:
Live your own life first.
The ending animation and song is beautiful. Felt cozy and heartwarming
the sonic 2 casino night theme during box openings was golden
This is actually one of the funniest videos ever made about csgo. Honestly great job lmaooo
I will now wait for the TF2 video where she complains about pay to talk and confused by the inevitable dance party.
How your boyfriend comes up with the funniest memes boggles the mind. Please don't let this channel die, i don't think I'd endure a world without Girlfriend Reviews.
As an anime waifu M4 enjoyer, I approve this xD
Also The Leetworld was a pretty good machinima using CS Source if you remember that. So there's that.
CS is only fun if you’re in the zone. The Danger Zone.
aaaaand they removed danger zone
He double his money but he has to sell the skins first. Good luck convincing him to do that.
This is how I know GFR have a great thing!
I have zero interest in the game, but I click because I know I’m going to be laughing loadsss within seconds 😂
As a First Person Shooter enjoyer, let me tell you about the holy grail of shooters: Titanfall 2
- Great hipfire & ADS gameplay
- Diverse guns
- Infinite ammo & grenades
- Instant respawn
- Movement as smooth and fast as Sonic on butter
- Grappling Hook
- Obsolete micro transactions
and did I mention?
- GIANT FREEAKING ROBOTS
This is my first girlfriend review video. honestly so funny. The waiting again for nades had me actually laughing so true.
As a decent player with 6k hours. Try surfing when you get tired of cs2 being bad :)
glad you enjoyed! welcome :)
This is legit the funniest on point and lore-appropriate video you have ever made!! 😂
7:00 shoutout to the Sonic song Casino Night: Act 2. Great jazz tune with a cool clarinet part :D
as someone without a girlfriend, i see this as an absolute win
Rarely seen a more accurate description of what it's like playing Counter Strike... I love it 😂
Never seen this channel before. First video i have seen. I LOVE THE EDITING! Had me ROFL many times! She’s the man, boys! Much respect
God i love your content so much, I to to meet both of you at PAX this year and it meant so much to me. Thank you both for being you's!
"He's is bathroom. He flashed me. It's long" - F*ing sent me😂
I think Matt, The Boyfriend, is in a codependent relationship with Counter-Strike.
hey im in this lmao. That was an awesome vertigo match! 5:20
"get your butthole off my nose" when the heck would you say a phrase like that?😂
Y'all's videos are like no others. I never miss a review.
i feel attacked by how accurate this is
This is the funniest video you guys have made in ages!! Laughed my ass off 😂
as someone who is 36 and played cs since i was 16 who also watches mainstream console gaming channels like this it is always interesting to see these youtubers cross paths with CS.
This was probably the best review in a while.
I love the sonic casino level music when talking about the loot boxes 😂
Wow! This one is another jewel, great script and editing, was hilarious. Luv ya guys!
ITS ALLWAYS THE SUPERSTITUM VIDEOS THAT PULL ME BACK! Nothing just comes close to the feeling of onetaps.
Another absolute banger of a video! I've been a fan of y'all since the first upload and it's worth the wait everytime
Sonic the hedgehog 2. Casino Zone. As soon as I heard it, for a brief second it was the 90’s and i was 7 again. Memory unlocked.
"everyone stands around, the round starts, everyone moves up 20 feet, everyone stands around again while they wait for the other team to throw every grenade in the world, then theres one minute of panic and jump scares until everyones dead, or something explodes" honestly i have never heard a better description of this game before
RIGHT? PLAYED CS SINCE 2010 AND IVE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN ABLE TO EXPLAIN IT BETTER
It's hard on your hearing, hard on your eyes and hard on equipment made me laugh so hard 😂😂
