Dude im like rlly confused with leveling in this game. Like do certain vocations lead to higher health pools when leveling up as said vocations? Im a relatively high level and i feel like my damage is cheeks
@@MCFERNO Different Vocations get different stat boosts on level up. Stuff like Warrior or Assassin will give a lot of Strength, Mage and Sorcerer will give a lot of Magic, Strider and Mystic Knight give a bit of everything, Magick Archer focuses on Magic Defense (for some reasonn), stuff like that. Good news is that by endgame (BBI mainly) the weapon/armor stats are so high you really don't need to worry about your latent stats, so just play as you will.

Your videos have really enhanced my experience! I'm totally hooked on the MK. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this but you are the foremost expert on Dragon's Dogma. My question is this: first time through, about to finish for the first time. I'm level 51 MK, should I NG+ or post-game (not wanting to leave spoilers). Is it difficult to determine how to do one or other? And is that decision irreversible? I've been doing some searches on the subject but responses seem a bit vague. Thanks much!
You have to finish post-game so you can go to NG+. There is also the Bitterblack Isle that is quite a bit harder than post-game and is considered endgame. If you go to NG+, enemies don't scale with you and it's same as new game, only you get to keep your equipment/skills/levels, so it's extremely easy. You can play the game all the way to max level without going to NG+.
@@Nihil0.0 Yeah, I mean those are much more versatile for almost any situation; the thing is that Burst strike and sky rapture proc the abyssal shockwave for what feels like 5+ times on each activation so I thought they may be useful if you are doing a str focused MK.
@@Nihil0.0 sky rapture is good for getting to certain places, but it's also great as a finisher to a combo. It usually brings you to the height of a weak spot, and th animation is super fast. I use it after antler toss if I didn't completely knockdown the enemy.
Have you considered comparing these things to a Max Stamina setup? Like, equip an unenhanced weapon of mediocre quality and see how many skills you can spam on each different build

Hi again Nihil0.0, I'm the dude who commented on the 1st video about trying these moves out on defensively neutral enemies. I agree with the idea that Magick build is superior, but the idea of Anguish hitting harder coming from a Magick build was weird. I'm glad that you actually followed up on this. In my head, there's two legit ways to play MK, either a Str build using Anguish with the completely physical mace attacks, or a Mag build using everything else available because it all hits harder using Magick. Sorta the same split between a Str Magick Archer (Immolation + physical dagger attacks and bow support skills) and a Mag version (everything else)

Even when I play Sorcerer I never go 190 levels in it. Then again I rarely ever attempt to level my characters properly. I'll stick with the balanced stats. The drop off in damage is negligible.
I just can't imagine the time commitment to do this...190 lvls as assassin, then 190 lvls as mystic knight....etc...etc...even playing 10-15 hrs/daily it would take weeks/months to get multiple vocations ranked that high... There isn't enough content in the game to rank this high in multiple vocations like this, how do you do it??? Restart the game over and over???
Leveling from 1-200 isn't that hard in Dragon's Dogma DLC. Just continue doing quests until you unlock Bitterblack Isles then use Throwblasts to farm enemies. You can also just edit your character's stats if you know how to tamper with the game files. You can level your character from 1-200 in just 2 hours if you're lucky. But at most, 4-6 hours because of rng.
@@ZedRotti First, I’m on Xbox so modifying game files is a no-go. Second, I can only dedicate a couple hours a day to game time because of real life. Third, “200 lvls in 2 hours or even 4-6 hours” is a stretch, I play for 2 hours most days and only hit about 10 max if I’m not getting sidetracked. Even the “power leveling” videos only estimate maybe 100lvls in 2-4 hours. Lastly, a side note about “power leveling”, I don’t do it, power leveling takes away the enjoyment of the game to me,…if gaming becomes a “task” or a “job”, it looses all its entertainment value IMHO.
@@usmc4good That's not my problem. You asked how much dedication is needed to achieve many level 200 characters in DD:DA, I merely answered of how you too can do it. And yes, you can power level to 200 in under 2 hours. But just as I said, it's luck based. Once you finish the story, only gameplay remains and that's where power levelling comes to play.

That's very close to my exact build. It's very well rounded and can tackle most situations. Once you have gold forged tier 3 BBI equipment its pretty awesome.
My question is, what if you do a balanced build with both Strength and magick over 600? It seems the split build was getting close to both pure builds. Watching this makes me feel kinda proud of the balanced build I came up with on my own. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it has a nice even split and the most important plus is that I get to actually play as an MK for the main story :D
It doesn't make sense to test abyssal anguish vs death because he is immune to dark and abyssal anguish is dark and blunt damage. I don't think strength benefits abyssal anguish as much as magic does.
@@kevine9474 the strength build amplifies the blunt damage while the magic build amplifies the dark damage. It doesn't make sense to compare the two against a monster immune to dark...
The only enemy that is not fun to fight with STR MK is Daimon, and more specifically his second form. His defenses are so high I struggle to do damage. Magic does no damage, and with him flying, STR does little damage, unless you climb. Wish STR MK had an answer for him.
Nihil is just using death as a target practice while I run 30 meters away from it.
The real takeaway is that you can't mess up Mystic Knight stats.
Also I never knew that death had such thematic defenses.

Never been a fan of sky rapture. I always go Cannon, Sigil and Full moon with MK
I use Sky rapture for platforming needs. In combat, it’s hard to use.

Don't forget the head armor enhancement that increases the cannons duration by 5 seconds

Question, why in the first Stone Jungle with STR, the second portion of damage was split into two on damage meter?
Not sure. Maybe 2 seperate hitboxes. I just added them together and it all lined up to make sense

Less Shield, More Cannon, More Abyssal Anguish. Whereas Magic would be mostly Shield counters and Cannons.

as far as I know this is impossible

Ahh the balanced 605/605 build. This, in my opinion, is the best build for MAs and MKs. The balanced 4K build comes in second.

You can do the Ghost of Kirin method against both forms regardless of your stats.
