THIS is how you recruit athletes who wouldn't otherwise consider your program; show them you're invested! I understand that the new weight room is shared by all sports, but it's better than many major D1 rooms. Good job NAU 👍
@@satanspit4101 Actually, NAU is probably all around the best in the conference for women's programs. Every team is competitive, and cross country is getting real close to getting a Natty some time over the next few years. Same with track and field.

@@traviswilson36 idk what the deal is with nau but at the school I competed for, most of the money spent on athletics came from donors who specifically donated to the athletics department. If people want more money for education then lobby for some rich people or the state to give more.
Tucson guy here and this is awesome. Flagstaff is a hidden gem, especially in the summer when Phoenix and Tucson are in the 100+ temps... Great work NAU!!!!
I’m happy schools are really starting to invest in track/xc. Oregon, NAU, Arkansas, and ole miss have all expanded and upgraded their facilities recently.
Agree because everybody cannot be great at basketball and football. You need football to be good to stabilize your other programs. There is nothing wrong with your school being great at baseball, hockey, tennis, golf, track or swimming.
I’m down in Phoenix, nice to see Arizona get represented. For anyone wondering, yes, Flagstaff is in a gorgeous pine forest at high elevation. Plenty of winter sports too. Go Lumberjacks!
They won 4 NCAA D1 Titles in the past 5 years for Cross Country mainly because the elevation is high in Flagstaff but that led to them building this building
I am a student here at NAU and have been seeing this building get built since I was a freshman. Love to see NAU getting some proper recognition and showing we're a real competitor! Skojacks
So nice to see NAU spend so much money on athletes when other programs could use at least an elevator that works lol. This does seem super cool but I would love too see my school also fix existing problems too :/
@@eliseadler2931 that’s not even to mention how some of our science labs are lacking in equipment. How our physics lab is behind. Students pay to go to school here. It’s embarrassing for me whenever we play. We have so many empty seats. I feel bad for students. I got a free ride just because I can catch a ball. Well they pay to go here.
Wish you could have visited UT- San Antonio when you were in TX. The university has invested in its student athletes with a newly built athletic center. Coach Traylor is doing something great with the football program.
We’re from San Diego and just last weekend I moved my son up to NAU. He has an amazing opportunity to be a coaching assistant for football. He’s well on his way to living his dream.
Fun Fact. NAU had a student poll around 2008, they asked if students would be willing to pay $800 more a year so NAU could build this new "athlete center". It was overwhelmingly voted no. Guess they didnt care.
Sure it's a great and nice looking center. But what needs to be considered is that there are many buildings at NAU with asbestos that desperately need to be renovated. There are dorms with it, academic buildings, and other areas across campus. There are many buildings that need the help that the money could've gone too. One such example is the music building where they have elevators from who knows when and stop causing students to become stuck in them. There are also the many professors that were laid off where their pay most likely went to this center. I understand that many may want this. But there are other areas on campus that really need that money too.
I go to school here. I think they should take the fence around the field down, it was a public field before athletes got to it. They can keep it, just give it back to the rest of us ok?
This is really cool. No wonder NAU football got the #2 recruiting class in FCS just from showing this before it was even finished! Good things are in store.
I absolutely love this. Giving content to all who wonder what it is really like in some of the top college sport facilities in the nation. I would suggest the facilities at University of Louisville. They have really great baseball, football, and basketball. There's also not a lot of content on it, you should check it out. Love the channel and the content. So sick.
Cross country, track & field, volleyball, they’re football is pretty good and getting better. Swim & dive also very good. I played volleyball there and we went to NCAA tournament a couple times
Spending all that time talking about how nice the ponderosa pine trees are is hypocritical considering all the trees REMOVED to build this. There was a beautiful wall of forest surrounding that practice field and they tore it all down for this building.
Must be great to be a student athlete these days. Not so great to be a regular chump schnook student who never gets to set foot in these facilities, yet has to fork over ever-increasing tuition and fees that massively outpace inflation. And get nothing for their troubles except crushing debt and a chump change job upon graduation-if they’re lucky. Priorities, I guess…
