Hope whoever is reading this has a blessed new year, I wish that your heart is purified to become more Christ like and able to leave this world a better place that you found it. If you have not accept Jesus Christ into your life, bow your head, close your eyes and from a sincere heart ask him to cleanse you of your sins and be your Lord and Savior. Jesus loves you and died for each and every one of us and salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned, Jesus did tell us of signs to come before his return and those signs are aligning with our time. Call upon his name while there's time left. God Bless!
Same here. I am an alum and have been thru the new facilities in Ann Arbor and they are what I thought was right at the top or near it, until I saw this. The connection with Piedmont is what sent me over the top. If I were a recruit and saw how committed they are to the medical side, I would sleep a lot better with my decision. I’m reserving to withdraw that only bc Michigan has perhaps the best complete medical staff at the hospital level and I don’t know that they can advertise the partnerships bc of state disclosure laws. Either way, football is everything in Georgia and the boosters there are rabid (no pun intended) fans of that program.
I love the showcasing of different college football facilities for different programs. They’re all nice in my opinion. But to pick a favorite is gonna be tough
This facility is first class from top to bottom. I grew up in Athens, visited lots of the grounds & facilities during my time there, and worked on the campus for a short period when I was 17-18 years of age before I joined the Marines. It has surely grown & changed over the years. I can only imagine the recruitment reaction from a young man visiting & being wowed by the lounges, the food preparation & presentation… I always knew they fed the Dawgs good even back in my day, but this is next level- Great nutrition to build strong bones, muscle & brains, the work out areas, the indoor stairs, swimming, the lounge in the locker rooms, so many areas for the young men to rest & recover, To provide them the space to become champions. Things have definitely changed but for the better, Of course I recall moving to a highschool in the 1980s that still had a dirt track, and our weight room was maybe 12’ x 18’… So anything would be impressive to many country boys like myself.
If you’re not an athlete don’t you feel a little bit neglected? I mean this is beyond insane. I guess they deserve some of it with the success they’ve had but I can’t help think of the regular students who might be barely getting by while piling on lots of debt. I guess it just makes me wonder if education is really an afterthought.
As a Dawg fan this is beyond amazing... we're 10 days away from game day against Clemson... this makes me even more pumped!!!! Go Dawgs Sic 'Em ❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤

The alumni GLADLY hand over and help raise tens upon tens upon tens of millions of dollars for their sports facilities ESPECIALLY football because football is king and they are happy to spend practically without limit if it helps their football program look better! I'm not saying this is right or wrong I'm just stating a simple fact!
The Dawgs knew what should be with every other facility in the country. They went big and big they delivered. The fact that they have Piedmont right there in the building is a big thing. Dawgs on top. Sic em. Go Dawgs!
Did Stines actually just say that “We don’t want you to leave the University of Georgia and feel like you were treated better than you can treat yourself in the future of your life” while giving a tour through an $80,000,000 facility that has nearly every necessity AND amenity one can imagine??? The level of tone-deafness is astonishing 😳
This place is insane, I go to UGA the closest I'll ever get to see it is by standing outside. 😂 The school has other amazing amenities and facilities for students, but we don't call Georgia Football "Damn Good Dawgs" for nothing!
The Cincinnati Bengals are the only NFL team without an indoor practice facility. Could you imagine the shock of future Bulldogs getting drafted by the Bengals.
At some of these athletic facilities, the young kids that are fortunate/privileged to have access to them - they may NEVER experience this type of lifestyle ever again in their lifetime. Not sure whether is a good thing, or a bad thing, but I hope they enjoy it while it lasts. Another point... THIS is the primary reason why/how Georgia went from good to great. It took the administration years to realize (after falling so woefully behind other SEC schools) that winning championships cost millions of dollars. Money begets the best coaches, the best staff, the best facilities, and as a result, the best recruits. Without the huge expenditures on the program the past 6-7 years, Georgia would still be waiting for its next natty from 1980.
Funny, it’s like getting a tour of a professional facility. Lots of money floating around there. The irony of calling the players student athletes never gets old.
Purdue just got a major stadium renovation and a new sports training facility and dining facility in the last couple years. (Stadium is being finished as I write this). It would be cool to see that
Such a amazing facility. I’m Australian resident and I have never seen anything like this at a campus. Is it common in the states for Universities to be so commercialised? Does Nike and other major brands have a big impact on how the University does things and what role do they play on athletes attending the University? Any feedback would be great, I’m interested as you don’t really see that here in Australia.
I think yes because of the revenue generated from college sports & trying to compensate college athletes now. I know once you have a brand sponsor like you stick with them for all of your gear/snacks/etc idk if it affects the team management but in terms of what they rep it’s kinda strict
Im in Oregon and Phil Knight went to University of Oregon and he donates huge there. Knight law library. Science center. Basketball arena. Track. He is a huge sponsor.
College football is huge in the U.S. It generates a lot of revenue and the colleges act as a farm league for the pros. It's not like other countries where pro leagues have their own farm leagues. In the U.S., the university system serves that purpose (in many sports, not all). Since it generates so much revenue and is free advertising for the schools, they are willing to build swanky training facilities like this. Also, there is no draft in college sports, so students can choose where they want to go. Therefore, the colleges compete to see who can build the nicest facilities to attract big time "recruits." It has become an arms race. One thing to remember is none of this is paid for through taxes or tuition. It is almost all paid for by alumni and rich donors. One more thing: these college teams almost all have Aussie kickers now. The Aussies have schools setup to train kickers for American football and the Aussies are coming to dominate that position in American universities. The college team I follow has an Aussie kicker who is tearing it up this season. Lol
