  • This is one of the great bass arias of all time. Not only is it a showpiece of vocal virtuosity, but it portrays the terrible truth of two empires on a collision course. One is the "Kingdom of this world" with it's humanistic "our destiny ourselves" arrogance, & which is at constant war with "Kingdom of God & His Christ." Ultimately, all war is evil in the eyes of God, because the underling motive is resistance to God's plan for humanity. And now, with international tensions on the rise & with all the "sabre rattling" going on, I think this piece is a great reminder of how the story's gonna end. Stay tuned for part 2 of this story to be uploaded shortly.
God bless you! Remember that He writes the final chapter on earth's history.
    Paul
