In many of the countries Harald visits, dogs are not shown any affection at all like we do in the West and is why they are always cautious when approached and then love it when they are petted because they are just not used to it. So many of them starve or die from car injuries etc and the ones that are owned have very hard lives, usually tied up and used as working dogs.

It's all about love over there in Nepal. I just remembered a few years ago some tourists being harassed by a shop lady in the mountains, which turned out to be played falsely and interpreted wrongly. I mean how can you hate on these hard workers who make their living off the 4$ they make from a tourist.
I dont think he notices it but he is getting some of the purest form of love from every single person he meets. Amazing hospitality, fun conversations, and of course all the joyful moments. Unlike other foreigners who wants a proper and safe travel story with all those comfy beds, pro guide, best hotels, good foods, and all the good things, I think Harald shows the beauty in the most ordinary realistic things (sometimes stupid tho). Been following him from his first travel story in Nepal with Kumar. This time he looks a lot more confident and experienced. But most of all, he has shown what other foreigners are totally missing and that is the understanding and experiencing of what local people experiences here in this part of the world. I don’t think he consciously notices the moments he is creating but it is the purest and rarest form of kindness and joy in his story. I think this is the true adventure. Love from Nepal brother !

I usually stick to western travel destinations but this made me want to visit the Himalayan mountains. So beautiful and wow what welcoming and nice people.

Well damn. Now that I'm watching the video I can see that everything is different for two reasons. First, the bridge you crossed at the beginning didn't exist when I was there. There's a smaller swinging bridge higher up the river that is the first bridge I crossed, but you never saw it. It looks like the bridge you crossed leads into a new road they're building on the right side. The second smaller swinging bridge you crossed over to the left side of the river is the one that I was saying not to cross, but from the other side after walking through the village that you didn't walk through, because you crossed the new bridge. And then you're encountering all the landslides on the left side across the trail that weren't there before. So everything is different. The main thing is you're posting videos, so that means you survived.
Why follow the map and instructions when you can explore and investigate the people's homes along the path. Maybe it's worth to lose half a day and get a bit longer leg of the path.
Nepalese are very friendly! I did a solo adventure in Nepal a couple years ago and trekked the ABC. I ended my trek in Pokhara and spent Christmas there. One of my best solo travels! Dal Bhat, momo and milk tea 🙏🏼 Namaste!

Agree I'm not a traveller but through Harold I have traveled to the far ends of the earth and experienced fun and sadness of the people he meets. Why Netflix has not requested him to do a series is beyond me. His content imo supercedes much of the adventure travel they already have.

I always prefer when Harald vlog in Asia part of the world like Nepal, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, etc. Harald seems to be more humbled when he mingles with these heartwarming people.
Honestly Harald your one of the few people that gives me genuine confidence I can go somewhere, not know much or especially not know the language and get by just fine.. Actually I was searching some comment about it, they were not speaking Nepali even I don't understand. I was thinking who helped him to translate, then I realized how could they know what an Albino was? I think they were speaking Tamang(language) which is very close to Tibetan language.
Been following you since Bald wasn't even making videos, the series is going to make the list of classics you have made. It's still impressive that you basically go on these adventures using one arm filming and keeping your balance on all the climbs. My Nepalese neighbors commends you on your journey.
I have traveled to Nepal, not long before that tragic earthquake, saw all sites and more. People are amazing and caring, one of my best trips and I have been fortunate to have been to 88 countries so far, seeing at pitch darkness three 8000 meter mountains at once lit up with the sunrise it’s unforgettable. And Norway is not bad either :) “The best trip is always the next one”
As a person that lives in Sweden and have been spoiled with the living conditions we are having with running water, electricity, digital society its really crazy to think that many people still live like this. But it's very interesting to see. One thing i also notice with these type of videos is that these people seems a lot more happy then the people here in the west, especially western and northern europe.
People living in the rural areas are more happier than the people living in the city areas because they are always ready to help each other and live in unity. If you ever visit Nepal I would suggest you to visit the rural parts of Nepal rather than the city areas. You'll get to experience the real Nepal if you visit the rural areas!

@@Startrance85 The people living in rural areas of Nepal haven't properly been introduced to technology. They still rely upon agriculture and animal rearing for food and money. Barter system is still in practice which strengthens the relationship between the villagers. They still live in traditional way and they consider guests as gods. They believe emotions are more important compared to money so they help each other and live peacefully. Due to this Nepalese people are always happy and hospitable.
I guess being physically active keeps off depression. As these people in the less developed areas are usually very active physically, they rarely are depressed.
What’s amazing is people with so much less than we have in America have such kind hearts and good manners…makes me think they have life figured out better than we have. Love these people !!

Did the Langtang Trek 28 years ago.Started out in Dhunche to Kyanjin Gompa, trekked back then south over the pass by Gosaikunda Lakes, and then all the way back to Kathmandu.
@@LPRD Well the bustrip was absolutly terrifyring, with many rusted up Buswreck down in the gorges and hillsides. I can se there is many more teahouses,but a lot looks the same,but in those days no pedal toilets. Have always wanted to go back to Langtang especially in the spring with 1000s of blooming Rhododendron. The northern part of the trek was wipped out by Earthquake not many years ago, so i'm looking forward to the next of Haralds videos, to see how far the rebuilding has come.. Now im 55, but will go back to Nepal or NorthPakistan later this year, if everything plans out.

I have been travelling arround the world for many years to arround 17 countries and always so happy to meet locals Give them the full and most respect as the locals and always remember that I am the guest there. I would only enter a persons home or buisnes if I was INVITED IN . This guy has not much respect in my mind for the locals - you do not walk in to somebody's private safe place and release there dog that they tied up - I love animals and dogs a lot and NEVER want to see any animal tied up BUT..............it's there home - there dog - there life - there choice - RESPECT THAT and don't go against the local choice and don't make fun of them - if they wanted him runing arround they could do it without "Help""....

Harald is not one of these fake youtubers who are paided money to go on expensive holidays and hotels etc He is real and raw, always unwavering pushing out of his comfort zone, and has an ability unlike any other to connect with people on a personal & human level and that's why he is my all time favourite youtuber.
Yeah a bunch of other travel youtubers go to rich cities that just do it for the sponsors and clicks, but harald simply goes wherever, whenever and he doesn’t care about the clicks or the sponsors, just the adventure and making good content.

Agree I'm not a traveller but through Harold I have traveled to the far ends of the earth and experienced fun and sadness of the people he meets. Why Netflix has not requested him to do a series is beyond me. His content imo supercedes much of the adventure travel they already have.

Talk about food, culture, hospitality, religion, living satisfaction, respect for animal as well as people. Just the air is enough to make u fresh and energetic. I came to Australia when I was 18 now I am 23. I came here to make life but I was hit with the big realization of the fact that I left the only life I had. So now I am going back after 5 years back to my HOME AND HEAVEN. This madness over dollar and western life is shit joke, you don't live twice because God makes life and people make dollar.

I have traveled to Nepal, not long before that tragic earthquake, saw all sites and more. People are amazing and caring, one of my best trips and I have been fortunate to have been to 88 countries so far, seeing at pitch darkness three 8000 meter mountains at once lit up with the sunrise it’s unforgettable. And Norway is not bad either :) “The best trip is always the next one”
As a person that lives in Sweden and have been spoiled with the living conditions we are having with running water, electricity, digital society its really crazy to think that many people still live like this. But it's very interesting to see.
One thing i also notice with these type of videos is that these people seems a lot more happy then the people here in the west, especially western and northern europe.
People living in the rural areas are more happier than the people living in the city areas because they are always ready to help each other and live in unity. If you ever visit Nepal I would suggest you to visit the rural parts of Nepal rather than the city areas. You'll get to experience the real Nepal if you visit the rural areas!

@@Startrance85 The people living in rural areas of Nepal haven't properly been introduced to technology. They still rely upon agriculture and animal rearing for food and money. Barter system is still in practice which strengthens the relationship between the villagers. They still live in traditional way and they consider guests as gods. They believe emotions are more important compared to money so they help each other and live peacefully. Due to this Nepalese people are always happy and hospitable.
I guess being physically active keeps off depression. As these people in the less developed areas are usually very active physically, they rarely are depressed.
Well "these" people are from rural areas so they are hardworking people if you go the city you will find wankers just like in sweden

Did the Langtang Trek 28 years ago.Started out in Dhunche to Kyanjin Gompa, trekked back then south over the pass by Gosaikunda Lakes, and then all the way back to Kathmandu.

@@LPRD Well the bustrip was absolutly terrifyring, with many rusted up Buswreck down in the gorges and hillsides. I can se there is many more teahouses,but a lot looks the same,but in those days no pedal toilets. Have always wanted to go back to Langtang especially in the spring with 1000s of blooming Rhododendron. The northern part of the trek was wipped out by Earthquake not many years ago, so i'm looking forward to the next of Haralds videos, to see how far the rebuilding has come.. Now im 55, but will go back to Nepal or NorthPakistan later this year, if everything plans out.

Each to his own and no judging, but I was So suprized to read what your optionion because mine was exactly oposite to yours. I have been travelling arround the world for many years to arround 17 countries and always so happy to meet locals Give them the full and most respect as the locals and always remember that I am the guest there. I would only enter a persons home or buisnes if I was INVITED IN . This guy has not much respect in my mind for the locals - you do not walk in to somebody's private safe place and release there dog that they tied up - I love animals and dogs a lot and NEVER want to see any animal tied up BUT..............it's there home - there dog - there life - there choice - RESPECT THAT and don't go against the local choice and don't make fun of them - if they wanted him runing arround they could do it without "Help""....
