Plus to be 100, she's absolutely gorgeous but for real, she has amazingly tasteful and very passionate flow and funk on her bass in that solo in the end of the short, I would put her there as queen of bassists
I'm impressed that she's playing so fast, yet not walking on the rest of the instruments. It's one thing to play fast, it's another to do so in a way that organically fits in the song.
Man I feel you on this one, as a fellow bassist my mind is blown, she is incredible! Sometimes "fast" doesn't mean "better," but in her case it is so beautiful
The thing about her that makes the fast playing so palatable is you can hear and feel the simple melody she outlines with accents and dynamics. It’s 100% in the dynamics. She Also always remembers that fast doesn’t need loud. Fast rythm and loud sound is so much stimulation
The notes are also really clear, which helps because fast playing can become muddy really fast, and I hate that. I know that's a low bar, but some guys get really tryhard when they buy a five string bass.
She's a fantastic bassist! Rick Beato made a long interview with her where she talk about her career since she was a kid. She also show some techniques and how she translated Indian music patterns into bass. Very interesting. A great musician!
@@peteabrh-fairest9463 Not with Parliament Funkadelic. 😂 Not with the Bar Kay’s, and the list could go on and on, and definitely not with Prince and Prince and the Revolution. She's magnificent. She really lives and loves the Greatest Instrument Ever Devised and it's just amazing what she's already capable of. She's only going to get better and continue to blow our minds. That was the 1st 5-string upright I've seen. Hm. I have nothing at all against basses with more than the usual 4 strings... however... Not my style from the clips he posted. She's good. Sounds like she is just hitting random notes to me on some, and just no melody. I don't really like that type of music whether it is a guitar, bass, or piano, etc. Glad others enjoy it though as per the comments. Just not for me.
Balance between taste and speed, when appropriate; excellent player. One who can recognize it, while giving out a positive shout, as well as do it himself; master.
I saw that upright bass video some time back, it's some of the most funky, chunky, hard, just gross bass playing I've ever seen. She's a complete legend
Day 46 of asking for Mikey Way’s behs tone. I started working 3-fingers because I liked the speed of it. If done right, speed can be the best part of any song
@@RobbyRobertson-fd6dd Yeah, others should just read what you said and digest it: a BASSIST that could dual with Paul Gilbert... but then again they probably don't know who Paul Gilbert is, either.

How can less be more? It's impossible. More is more.
- Yngwie Malmsteen
Malmsteen is in his own little bubble, which does not necessarily live in the real world.
Let’s get Mohini and Yngwie together for a project. More IS more!!!

Thanks for mentioning Beato. He does great interviews. Sounds like the perfect way to learn more about a virtuoso like this.

five string upright has actually been around since the 1700s, it shows up with some frequency in classical music
